  • Good gracious! Sim City has come a long way lol

  • This is what I miss the most about the original versions of Sim City; you could view the terrain and developments directly from above and make everything fit better together. A proper "satellite view" for SC4 would have been awesome.

  • Ah yes, the ole Bagel building block theory. A Sim City classic.

  • this game fot boreing.

  • I love my sim city for Nintendo ds and i am only 9 years old y would want the snes versión were i can get it?????

  • titti putti titti putti titti putti titti putti putti titti

    love the laying road noise

  • @pcfaulkner If you also like the music, be very wary of my channel in the next week. ^_^

  • @ShiryuGL i do like the music and i shall be staying tuned to your channel

  • @pcfaulkner I 100% guarantee you will have something to look forward/download on December 23rd. ^_^

  • i used to leave the snes on over night, so the next day i had tons of money lol

  • The top of the area looks just like the top of wisconsin

  • best friggin sim city ever. im buying my son a snes for the holidays, and to be honest, its probably more for me than him, because of THIS game :D :D :D

  • Awesome gameplay, Awesome Graphics, Awesome Music, AMAZING GAME

  • Una convercion bastante fiel al juego original :D

  • i remember when i was like 8i left my snes on before i went to school and when i came back my whole city was ruined LOL

  • way to mess up at 1:49 lol i hated when that happened.

  • FUN FACT! The idea of building residential zones into 9x9 squares was actually an idea invented by the Song Dynasty. A dynasty that lived in Medieval China in the mid 900s. Also, commercial zones were becoming known back then because of the Song Dynasty.

This has been your classic gaming fun fact.

    -xtrememegakiller

  • Obama $800B (obamacare) vs. Cain 999 (tax system) go ahead test SimCity (2007 or best).

  • This is where it all began? Well look at where Elder Scrolls began.

  • wow were it all started

  • dat soundtrack

  • I have not ever played this version but good god those music tracks rule. Especially the title theme and the one with the printer. Even if they're your standard Nintendo stuff, or maybe exactly because of that.

  • so many hours I played this game. gosh it brings back a lot of memories of building cities and then destroying them. lol

  • It was this game that got me into urban planning...

  • Good old times! I miss it.

  • Woah, I should get myself a copy of this and a SNES mouse, this port of Sim City looks awesome!

  • That music is so relaxing[:

  • I remember putting A TON of hours into building a city on this game as a kid! =D It was beast! haha

  • im playing this right now! :D

  • in the beginning, great technique if you want to murder everyone in your city from pollution

  • i cant stop whistling^^

  • omg! i use to love this game *-* i want my super nintendo back :(

  • @monajarouche Go get one!

  • @monajarouche Emulate!

  • @monajarouche go to cool rom dot com to get an emulator and the game i saw it there

  • @monajarouche Well you can get your super nintendo back.

  • it's too bad this game doesn't use the snes mouse :(

  • @Jupiterworks I've always thought the same thing. =/ lol

  • @Jupiterworks Oh, but it does!

  • @CaptainAppleManFilms

No the snes mouse was realesed in japan 1992 and sim city snes 1991

  • I LOVE THIS GAME WHEN I WAS LITTLE

  • dude, don't build roads, replace them with tracks! you'll get traffic jams like hell

  • this was still difficult for me as a child even when i used the game genie looool.

  • BE HONEST! who remembers not even being able to read when they played this and just liked placing roads!

  • @geckoboy222

I'am from germany and my parents bought me sim city the us version from a holiday :)) ... so I learned english at a time where kids in germany dont learn english. :D good times. <3

  • @geckoboy222 When I first played Sim City 2000... I thought the separate buildings (eg police and fire) were the houses... and it took ages to understand the "zones".

  • @geckoboy222 I remember many games not even able to understand the speaches, sometimes having to look dictionary up, but still managed to get thru them..

  • Unique system for the SNES, it sad that this is the only simcity game with real season change.

  • Nice. I used the exact same building formula, with the 3x3 cube and reward in the center. Never was able to make a Megalopolis, though. I've even tried the infinite money cheat, but still couldnt get it. Think I needed the Las Vegas map, but never did get it.

  • a nice video

  • not too shabby at the old sim city I see..

  • simply watching you play is making me addicted.

  • So good.

  • I normally don't care for the graphics of games, but shouldn't this game been able to contain more detail in its textures? I mean, it looks like a NES game. Otherwise, it's awesome!!

  • @NamelessJimmy .. Is there any way you can send the copy for me ? I Would like to play this game again.. i miss it so much !!

  • i never cared for the practice island map i found it very disturbing. i was always able to reach the goal of 30,000 people in a few years but. i did not like it becasue in real life a small island like this out in the middle of the pacific ocean such as Nauru would not be a city like this 8 zones and you would be fine 4 residential 2 commercial and 2 industrial and theres a village like you would find on a romote island. destroying a pretty little island and making it into that is unrealistic.

  • Good BGM.

  • Yeah i've spend nite playing this on my game genie with fast year code.I could earn the mario statue after doing the city like in the Nintendo Power one and the 999999 cash trick helped alot :D

  • i have this on an emulator for ps2, but the damn thing wont load and i am seriously in the mood for a sim city 10 hour gameathon,

  • how to get a bank?

  • 1:48 fail xD

  • i like sims, i have simcity for playstation1 when i was like 8/9 whatever, but i never played on it. never. i dont know why, it looks an ok game! obvs i dont have the playstation anymore - obselete! - so its a shame i never went on it. ive played sims since i was 10, and im 13, and i dont plan to stop. <3

  • I remember my mom letting me stay home once to play this game. I could never get a megapolis but I always tried.

All of you complaining about the new Sim City games just can't handle them. I feel bad for you.

  • I got a complete copy for $1.99 yesterday at my local Disk Replay. I remember playing the PC version back in the day. This will certainly take me back.

  • this one is the only who has the seasons

  • I was never really good at this game, but I eventually became an architect.

    watch my video popsicle masterpiece.

  • Jezz, I have simcity 4, Sims 2(all of them), and simcity 3000. This is really old. Now look at the technology today, It's better graphics, but still, WOW!

  • wow, so this is what started the sims.....

  • God i missed this game left my SNES On for Weeks playing citys :)

  • You never build cities in real life :)

  • 11 people went bankrupt

  • I remember playing the second sim city because it came out a year after i had been born, I never played this because I didn't even exist when this came out haha

  • I'm a Mega Drive fanboy, but I've been playing this on Virtual Console and I have to admit its pretty great. A very very early example of a PC > console port that actually works.

  • I am so addicted to SimCity!

  • i remenber pokemon LOL

  • when i was a kid i sometimes didn't push "start" at the start screen and just listened to the music with the beautiful skyline in the backround.. for hours

  • Sim City is the only good Sim City game. The rest after it are all overly complicated bullshit. Sim City has everything we need within reason including proper difficulty.

  • i love this game, as a child i had played it all day long, the music is great too

The new sim city games are too much

  • Same here. Sim City was a great game.

  • I spent countless hours playing this as a teenager...

  • Comment removed

  • i want this in my ipod

  • any way getting this on pc?

  • I love this game so much! I'm uploading the soundtrack!

  • Before I played Sim City, I thought RCT was the best tycoon game.

  • Never did beat it.....think you had to get 500,000? Man I put in a lot of work on this bad boy

  • 11 people need more commercial zones.

  • i think simcity 2000 is the perfect blend of classicness, graphics and options

the original simcity game is like.... way to old for me its like looking at a blue screen when your computer crashed and wondering what to do lol just my opinion anyway

  • omg ppl still pla this? o_O my eyes are HURTING

  • Good Game but i dont consider putting polution near your residents

  • Games have some a long way in 20 years..

  • I always have to use the Game Genie with this game cuz I run out of money and get bored.

  • que recuerdos tristes me trae

  • I was like 4 when I played this, had no idea what I was doin. Godzilla tornadoes hurricanes everywhere! Also, I had a laugh at Detroits problem.

  • oh the memories! I was 7 when i played. Okay i sucked and i had no idea what to do, but somehow i enjoyed it. : D

  • This game makes me feel old :(

  • 3x3 grids...no better way to build a city.

  • omg i used to be obsessed with this game... good times... for a snes game its really realistic

  • I think this is the SimCity game with the best soundtrack. I like how the music changes as the size of your city increases.

  • A great game for kids. This is definitely a learning tool and a fun one.

I remember playing this when I was I was 12. I couldn't sleep one night and played Sim City. I had lots of fun with this game. I later moved on to sim city 2000.

  • where can I download this?!?!?!!

  • yeah pollute the ocean why dont you

  • The setup for the city reminds me of chicago actually. the only thing is that the water is on the oposite side

  • Maxis Rules

  • lol i still remember how to get the cheat and get 9999999 money haha

  • how do they have football stadiums in the 1900's? 0.o

  • what is better coal or nuclear?

  • i love the sound when draggin the street...

  • A government must be careful when allowing a city to sell land to the private party. You are the government, you must understand that land is for everybody. When you sell it to a private company, who knows what they will do with that land.

  • i remember playing this back when i was in elementary and middle school...

  • no offence but how old are u people!!

  • Wow, I remember playin this whenever I was like seven, I played it all the way up until I loned it to a douche and he never gave it back... I miss this game alot....

  • Aaahh, Sim City. <)

I had a great times with this one. I do have Sim City on the Nintendo DS, but I haven't played that one as much as I did with this Snes version.

  • This will always be the best version of Sim City

  • if its that fun i shouldnt of got My Aquarium i was thinking about this game though i have 600 points now

  • Mr. Wright also has a role in Zelda links awakening :)

  • The music and sound effect bring back such great memories. =D

  • i found an amazing coincidence... yet creepy... one of the scenarios is in 2010... Boston Nuclear Meltdown

  • I like peanuts

  • i always loved this game but im never able to make money

  • It looks like "Zelda City" to me.

  • Let's Play the Philosophy Video Game. Using a good human heart in everything we do, we better the world. Let's begin establishing farms, building clean carbon capture electricity plants, planting trees for lumber instead of cutting down natural habitat, and turn sea-water into fresh water for drinking, planting and hydrogen fuel. We will expose the currency and organize it so that prosperity will be among all people.

  • Ah yes, the 3x3 donut. I made a countless number of those in middle school, all I seemed to do was play sim-city on my snes.

  • This game is so fucking AWESOME..loved it when i was young.

  • lol, it reminds me of pokemon.

  • ahh memorys... i remeber playing this as a kid lol. i love it

  • I got a copy of this game at a good will for $5.00 on a 3.5 and a 5.0. It was like new still in the box with all the directions. I still have it and would not take a million dollars for it. Unless someone offered.

  • I have a copy of this on my computer. It's still fun but I keep getting traffic jams! >.<

  • @NamelessJimmy Replace all roads for rails. =)

  • @ShiryuGL Ah thats how :D

    thanks :D

  • @NamelessJimmy i just used to bulldoze my roads and build them again xD

  • I read on the internet that they were planning to realese this for NES, and I personally think that would have really sucked.

  • I know that this game music is great but i always muted it... this "small city" music makes me sad =( lol

  • Is this suppose to be like the sims? I have this game but my SNES is acting finicky.

  • haha,i just found this covered with dust in one of my lockers.i remember playing it when i was a little child without even knowing what i was doing :)

    ahhh,great times

  • @RapiDEraZeR same here

  • @RapiDEraZeR Ah, I too remember playing this brilliant game and scratching my head, but I continued playing anyway.

Hell, I still don't know what the fuck I'm doing in these games and I'm 14 years old. But, man, I love 'em anyway.

And didn't this version just have some awesome-ass music? I remember just sitting and listening to the intro music... just fantastic masterpieces, really.

  • Dr. Wright! HA! Bill wright must have wanted his name in there. Too bad he's not in the iPod touch version.

  • I gave this game away to a bunch of friends because I lost my actual SNES console.

I downloaded it from the wii shopping channel, though. So no real loss I guess. I miss the 90s. =/

  • I have the game on my Wii console. Too bad I don't got the actual game of it. -_-

  • Lol roads.... gotta love that extra pollution...

  • OMFG THIS IS LIKE MY FAVORITE GAME IN THE HISTORY OF ALL TIME. Screw modern warfare 2 and that other bullcrap!

  • I dont like the way you zone your lots... residential and commerical would do better away from industrial... my residential lots would be near water and industrial would be more inland.... football stadium could obviously be pff the priority list

  • Love the music! Brings back the childhood memories!

  • What if you saw the tiny burglar in jail from the Sims!

  • ONE OF THE BEST GAME EVER CREATED along with zelda. Simply a work of geniuses.

  • great music!

  • I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!

  • i could cry :) lovely old times :) with my snes :) when i was young i played dozens of hours with my friends :)

  • great memories playing this during my teen years...

  • @canadacurtis Me too. Only funny thing is, I still play this game at the age of 34. I've had the same Super Nintendo for 17 years lol.

  • Nintendo nailed it when they did this game. Pefect blend of complexity and simplicity. The PC versions are a hassle and very cumbersome. I hate all versions except this one

  • Can't wait until it comes out^^

    lol just kidding

    this one is cool

    the other ones sucks :/

  • @TheWarPope you mean the new sim cities?

  • yes

  • is there any way we can play this game on the pc?

  • ya, called an emulator, I have the original cartridge for this, just hearing this makes me want to play it agian

  • @littleak2

google snes emulators download one and google snes roms and download one and use the emulator to open the rom

  • I love this game!

I have also started with the practice game and meanwhile metropolis with 112,320 peoples!

and thanks nintendo for the download for wii, I can also play again, mine snes game has broken, stupid cat!

    sorry for my bad english^^

and read my comment down this comment ;)

  • and hey, when you will play the game with FULL money, press the L or R button and hold them, when the years end, take the fonds down to zero and open the budget window again.

take the fonds up to 100 and close the window, when you press the button no more, you have 999.999 money :D

but, when you will play the game really, dont make this little trick ^^

  • i probably sound pathetic but i just downloaded this game from vc i had never played it b4 and it is awesome i started a city and now i have a metropolis.

  • oh man this takes me back to 1994

  • Also, i always keep residential\commercial zones at least 4 squares away from industrial zones and power plants.

Use railroads only, because roads will cause insane pollution later on.

    And only nuclear power plants.

  • The big problem in this game, is that i can never get the industrial zones in enough numbers.

I use map 61, the one with the smallest amount of water in the game.

I always build industrial zones around the edges of the screen, with 3 squares (1 zone space) between each. This is never enough, and it's frustrating, because to avoid pollution you have to spread them out ... and that takes up a lot of space....

  • Comment removed

  • Tauru,

If you're running on easy mode, you should end up with close to as many Industry Zones as Residential. Sometimes more!! Ignore the complaints about pollution and the black cloud following Wright around. If you build the industry people will come. Pollution or not. Only thing is you'll have more disasters, but Industry is the way to megalopolis. So stack the i-zones as tight as you do residential and always keep R zones at least 2 blocks away from R-zones. C-zones are buffer

  • Really so? Well, they do always get to the level 4 so maybe it's a good idea.

But what's the difference between easy, medium and hard that way?

And how many c-zones is necessary? Are you saying you need less r-zones than anything else?

  • @123: The industrials will grow in sections where the R's and C's will not. For example, you'll notice that your property value is always concentrated in a diamond shape towards the center of the map. Put your R's in a diamond shape int he middle. C's radiating around them, and I's on the outside perimeter. When on the Easy setting, your ratio should be 1 res = 1 ind = .3 commercial. Commercial are the weakest zone. They are difficult to develop. Only build C's when the game say so

  • Okay, i seem to build way too many commercials! And i do know about the pollution, it's annoying to watch the message popup all the time, but it's the only way ^^

Thanks for your tips! But two last q's: 1) What's different in hard mode except having less money? 2) Do you reconstruct i-zones so that they are all high instead of low?

  • Well sim city has evolved greatly...

I was born in 1994 and i dont know mutch about the sims city 2000 and the sim city 1 but i played the sims city 3000 , 4 and societies and if you notice from the 3000 you had neibours but you had your city it was like you are closed into your city and barelly the other interfierd mutch but on the 4 they made the cities depend of eatch other...

well the societies is crap so...

  • haha all those houses right next to a plant, not good..

  • I remember seeing this game in the video shop and thinking it looked boring. One day I ended up renting and kept it out for days. I had to eventually go buy it as I was spenting a fortune renting it.

  • love the music in this game it's so relaxing. this is one of millions of games that has relaxing music

  • lol i remember this game when i was little-it was soo much fun!

  • Wow, why's this game have such an amazing soundtrack?

  • @Siberianhusky89 because back then, people actually had CREATIVE talent. Now everyone just copies off of one another to make money.
