  • 1:24 GODAMMIT YOU TWO!! WHY DIDN'T YOU GO FOR IT!?

  • @Tahkaullus01

    LOL! I know, right?

  • My favorite Astaire-Rogers dance. The way she falls gently backwards and he catches her is the most elegant, romantic, beautiful thing I have ever seen.

  • @Nancy9972

    I agree. ;)

  • I also want to add that Fred's acting had really improved at this point. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not implying that he was ever BAD, he was just never really challenged as an actor before this. But in this scene, he conveys so many emotions, and it's beautifully executed.

  • This is probably the sexiest dance Fred and Ginger ever did (tied with "Night and Day" from "The Gay Divorcee"). You can really FEEL the tension between them, and, yes, the moment at 1:24 is heartbreakingly gorgeous. I love the longing expression on Fred's face, and the graceful way his hand is placed on her back. Notice how Ginger's lips are parted ever so slightly, as if pleading for his touch. Just... wow!

  • I LOVE this movie !!!! thank you for posting this !!! in my opinion this is the most romantic movie scene !!!!

  • Great team.

  • I think this is the most beautiful dance Astaire & Rogers ever did together: her gown, the choreography, the Irving Berlin music - nothing else compares.

  • That was so shweet <3 X-)

  • Magic.

  • The epitome of pure love, romance, and sexual tension. The greatest thing ever made in entertainment.

  • WATCHING FRED AND GINGER IS SO EXCITING AND THRILLING.....

THE VERY BEST TONIC - EVER !!

    Thank you....

  • Beautiful!

  • Don't forget the music! The music is the third dancer.

  • who wouldn't want to kiss Ginger Rogers! she's so beautiful : )

  • Fred Astaire was the epitome of masculine grace! Michael Jackson loved him and studied his dance movements......he truly was poetry in motion!!

  • This is simply wonderful. They make it look so VERY, VERY easy. It's NOT !!! The concept for this was Ginger's....the choreography was Fred's and Pan's. Fred readily admitted to Ginger's many contributions to these great dances. Hannah Hyam rates "Carefree" as the last of the classic F & G films. It deserves four stars from TCM. Five of the 10 F&G films are top rated already. This film deserves to be included too.

  • I really want to pay attention to what Ginger is doing, but, Fred just wouldnt let me.. HE IS AMAIZING

  • no one could convince me that they love each other as much as Fred and Ginger on screen

  • And by the way if I had a top list of most romantic 4 min in a movie this would be the top.. And that's not just because I'm in love with them

  • I believe Fred Astaire is the most beautiful romantically soft actor there has ever or will be again...this dance is my favorite by him and the beautiful Ginger Rogers because you can hardly believe they weren't romantically involved. Mainly for that part at 1:45 when you can just tell both of them cannot be completely acting..but how will we ever know those days are over and how that saddens me at least they left these amazing pictures to help us remember the good ol days

  • I love the 60's and 70's... I do......(I was born in the mid 50's).........but.....Forget it!...............This is where real love lies. Fabulous music, fantastic people, and I've got to say my heart just melts at these messages I'm reading, I think they are great. Fantastic Posting!!!!!

  • in my opinion the best Fred and Ginger dance ever performed.

  • Wow! They were simply amazing together. There's no greater couple than Fred & Ginger. And she's so beautiful, I wanna have her dress. :)

  • At 1:24... It's so good, Fred does look like he's dying to kiss her, but I think he actually does kiss her around 1:33. It's quick and not turned to the camera, so it might have been inadvertent, because Ginger doesn't turn her head when Fred does. Or it might have been something he slipped in, who knows? Either way, I love this dance. Ginger looks so tall and gorgeous and there's so much chemistry!!

  • Singularly gorgeous...my favorite part is at 00:45 when Rogers hypnotically falls deep into Astaire's arms and goes into the backbend that she did so well. A beautiful staging- and in a sexy black gown- unusual but effective choice.

  • FRED AND GINGER - THE MAGICAL PAIR.......

    Thank you.......

  • Oh, I love them, they are so elegant, so graceful, simply Wonderful!!!

1:24 is my favourite part too:)) Fred is irresistible:))

  • omg at 1:24 fred looks like he wants to kiss her so bad its killing him!!!! i think thats my favorite part in this dance i love it!!!!

  • @xodebbieaudreyxo20 Mmm, I agree--that is one SEXY moment.

  • @xodebbieaudreyxo20 Exactly!! That's why I think this dance in particular is THE best.

  • @xodebbieaudreyxo20 my fave part too - with the music it almost brings tears to my eyes on that part!

  • @xodebbieaudreyxo20 I agree!! I can't image what a thrill it would be to dance with him. Every time I see them together I sigh and pretend it's me on the screen.
