Actually, the GT500 has a handbuilt engine that is built with FORD parts by Shelby techs. I thought everybody knew that already? So I would say that the GT500 is powered by Shelby is fair statement.

You obviously don't know much about the history of either Ford or Shelby. Do your homework and you'll see that there were a lot of Mustangs that were "Powered By Shelby" as it says on the engine plate or sometimes even the car body. And guess what? Yes, that's right...all of these cars had Ford engines and Ford parts in them.

The point I am trying to make is that Chevy guys are trying to compare the Hennessey Camaro to the Shelby because they claim that it's a fair matchup which it isn't. The Camaro is built by an aftermarket company whereas the Shelby is built with Ford parts in a Ford factory.

I agree with you that's not a fair matchup. Hennessey is basically a full aftermarket tuner whereas Shelby was contracted with Ford to offer Shelby Mustangs. But again, they were actually built by Shelby employees in a Shelby assembly plant. The cars came in as regular production Mustangs and were modified with the full support of Ford Motor Company. It's similar to Hennessey, but not exactly the same thing. You can even take it a step further and compare Saleen, which is actually a manufacturer

For the last time the Shelby GT500 is not built at a Shelby assembly plant. It is built at Ford's Flat Rock, Michigan plant. The Shelby GT-H and the Shelby GT are built at Shelby's Factory but the GT500 is built entirely at a Ford plant by Ford technicians.

No that is incorrect sir. Power plant refers to the engine in the chassis not the power mods added to it. Yes Hennessey adds the supercharger, intake, exhaust, suspension, and tires but the power plant (engine) is OEM GM. Hennessey doesn't produce engine blocks.

Yeah but roush is not Ford. He is a separate entity, so you can't say that about roush. Now yes Ford does supercharge the mustang, but it is the fact that it takes a supercharger for it to beat the camaro. That is what everyone is commenting about. i kno i dnt really count the Roush doe bkus its not faster than the Shelby the roush only run 13.2 13.0 1/4 mile and the shelby can hit 11.5 w/ good traction and driver but the new 5.0 will have over 400 hp and its 300+ pounds lighter than the camaro ss and all motst 400 pound lighter than the GT500 they caim it will post a 12.6 1/4 mile but we will c wen it comes out

This is supposed to be my graduation car... it's on order and the guy who he right before me got his invoice around a week ago. It's going to be a Orange, Black Rally Stripe RS/SS. Can't wait... but I'm guessing I'll have it around July. I was hoping around the 4th at the latest but it seems I might have to wait even longer. I saw a yellow one down in Panama City Beach, Florida last week and it looked and sounded hella nice.

The stock rotating assembly in a Romeo 4.6 DOHC will hold 1000hp. The crank alone is designed for excess of 1500 hp. That's what happens when you use real parts, shitbird.
