  • I wished somebody would subtitle this to english completely! I know Lucifera translated a lot of stuff already but not everything. Thanks! :)

  • so sad..

  • what a smart guy, wonder why he married that stupid woman. Must have been very blind.

  • @cammpinno Because man can see better than he can think

  • Can please someone translate this into english? thanks! :)

  • @shairaptor SUMMARY FOR YOU: (first I apologize for my bad English ) It is interview with Karel and his 33 years younger wife Vendula. At the beginning they tell story how they met and from whom there were more goo-goo impulses. First they worked together for one political party. There was a really said period in Karel’s life. His first wife died of cancer and then 1 year later also his mother died. After this they started dating together. 1 year later they began to live together.

  • @shairaptor 2nd part of summary:

Approx from 1:10 they argue ( with humor ) for a while who paid attention to whom first and more. It seems the first impulse was from Karel. He says that nothing is black&white. Due his point of view there are always impulses from both sides. Moderator asks Vendula whether she chose him for money. Vendula says ironically that he didn’t show her his bank statement.

2:28 Karel outside: it's healthy for blood circulation. To sharp the brain.

  • @shairaptor 3rd part of summary:

2:38 Karel talks about the beginning of their relationship. Many of his "friends" harshly condemned Vendula. They didn’t like her. (They thought she is “gold-digger” ). She was very unhappy that time. She defends herself, that she didn’t brake anyone’s marriage.

3:17 Cat bites cables on his computer. He is angry ( ostensibly ) that the cat will destroy all his work.

  • @shairaptor 4th part of the summary:

3:46 Segment with their daughter, who died aged 4 of leukemia. It was great tragedy for both of them, which caused their separation and almost divorce. They went through pain, looking for blame.

6:33 Improvement in their relationship occurred in 2003. That time Vendula prepared mega concert in occasion of his 65th birthday.

  • @shairaptor For this concert Karel composed the song "Ještě že tě lásko mám - Good thing I have you, love." for Vendula. She felt again reconciliation and his support.

7:20 Karel appreciates, that although the relationship went through a hard time, they didn’t lost a sense of humor. Although it was black humor. He says, where humor ends, there start visits to a psychiatrist. Vendula notes that humor depends on intelligence. Karel replies: I wanted a cheerful girl! Vendula :-D. That's all :)

  • @Lucifera1011 Wow! Thanks so much, that was fantastic translation and summary! You're great Lucifera!!! :) Does Karel talk about his studio, or music equipment, or computer equipment in this video? About his projects? How the way is he composes? Thanks for your reply! :)

  • @shairaptor Thanks :) You mean, if he spoke about it in this interview? No, unfortunately not. It was rather "yellow" interview about their relationship. He was genius composer. It is really pity he used the gun instead of visiting a psychiatrist to try to solve the problem with his depresion. :-(

  • @Lucifera1011 He used the gun because of depression? Is that fact or a guess from you? As far as I know, Karel's family doesn't want that the people know details about what Karel did.Yes genious composer! :)

  • @shairaptor Well, probably it is only my guess, because he didn't leave a suicide note. As family says, there were no problems between them. Also doctors confirmed he didn't have any serious illness. There were some rumours about his financial problems. From my point of view, combination of this, exhausting work on his last musical Mona Lisa and long term fight with depression (he also stopped to visit a psychiatrists) just make that horrible coctail of final thoughts to pull the trigger.

  • @Lucifera1011 Thanks for the explanation! That would explain it. Somewhere I read an interview with his wife (I think), that Karel was often kind of aggressive or arrogant toward his family, he also lost weight but not from illess? Interesting to know. So maybe because of stress and overwork. I can understand his depression, when you look what you've explained with his former wifes, children etc. Karel did fantastic songs! I love his work on Nils Holgersson, Maja the Bee, Tao Tao & Adam 84! :)

  • @shairaptor About his weight - he had gastric ulcers. So maybe combination of this illness and depressions... who knows. I really think the main reason was "not clear mind" ( the depression ), because we all know what kind of misery they went through with their poor daughter. Then they were very happy when their son was born, they wait for this a long time . I would assume, this is also big reason for living against all the problems. No? So it had to be some kind of current click in his head.

  • @shairaptor You saw Expedition Adam 84? :-D Great! It is also my favourite. Maja the Bee is classic.

And have you seen Humberto circus?

(type it on youtube) "Karel Svoboda-Cirkus Humberto",

or cooperation with Karel Gott (he composed this song during 1 night) – see link : "Karel Gott - Lady Carneval 1972 & Fang das Licht 1986"

And what about „Tři oříšky pro Popelku , Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel , DEFA Märchen DDR Trailer 1973“ :-)

Or link: Karel Svoboda - Lásko má, já stůňu

  • @shairaptor and more :-)) sorry, but I don't speak German ( Ich spreche nicht Deutch )

Karel Svoboda - Žít ( To live, sang by Karel Gott )

And main themes from Musical Dracula ( it was definitely his famous musical ):

    "muzikál dracula -jsi můj pán"

    "Vím, že jsi se mnou"

"Muzikál Drákula - Lorraine v podzemí - Lucie Bílá"

    "Karaoke-Šašek a Adriana (Dracula)"

I know you probably don't speak Czech, but it is about the music.

  • @Lucifera1011 Thanks for the names and links, will listen to them! Yes of course I know Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel :) It's shown here in Germany every Christmas (among other shows) :) I would love to get soundtrack of Tao Tao (the background music of the series, not the title music theme we all know already :) Yes Project Adam 84 is classic too! Yes, Lady Carneval is a great song, I love it!

Do you know anything about Karels musicstudio? What equip he used? not shown in this vid I know :)

  • @shairaptor I found link straight to his studio Elektrovox:

elektrovox.cz / studio / (type it as web sites of course, without spaces)

But for detailed translation try Google dictionary ;-)

  • @Lucifera1011 Wow, thanks again for the link to the studio of Karels company. Wow, what equipment they have, fantastic! I'd like to see more video material of Karel working in the studio! I think there is a video on Youtube where he works in studio while doing the music of Expedition Adam 84, have you seen the video? :)

  • @Lucifera1011 (comment 2) ... hey, I found the link! Search on Youtube for "Návštěvníci - Die Besucher - The Visitors : Title Track, Music by Karel Svoboda " :) Great, isn't it? :)

  • Care to translate what they're talking about? I'm a big Karel Svoboda fan! Subtitles? Perhaps a summary of the interview? Thanks a lot! :)

  • Tu komnatu s Vendulou by měli natočit znova. Od vysílání tohoto pořadu se toho tolik změnilo...

  • no a o pár měsíců to skončilo, jak to skončilo...
