Barrichello was clearly the better man that day and was forced to lose a race just so Schumacher who already had plenty of glory. Plus, Schumacher didn't even need the win because he never finished below 2nd for the rest of the season.

Barrichello was clearly the better man that day and was forced to lose a race just so Schumacher who already had plenty of glory. Plus, Schumacher didn't even need the win because he never finished below 2nd for the rest of the season.

@shinhawk Why was it different? Austria was the 6th race, Schumacher already won the other 4, had a clear lead of Barichello, why take the risk of losing the championship by 2 points? They didn't knew beforehand that they would won every race except 2. Why take that unnescecary risk? Its not playing Gp4 on the playstation, lots of money is at stake, they only went for the win. The only difference is that now people are shocked while 20 years ago it was considered normal, a no brainer.

@shinhawk If you have 2 football players and 1 of them has played a fantastic game but hasn't scored a point yet and the 2nd player is much better. Would you not switch them because the 1st player although he played such a terrific game you'd have a chance of losing the whole game or would you switch them to secure the win? Would you gamble on that if it could cost you millions?

Mansell tries to get Senna but can't get the pace, patresse is faster, Mansell lets him through at which point James Hunt says "well probably he lets him go now to catch senna so that senna atleast has 4 points less but I am sure that if Mansell passes Senna the team will order Patresse to move out the way to give Mansell the advantage." It was considered strategy before numbnuts like you got hysterical when Michael Schumacher did it.

Monaco and Barcelona) and after my opinion he's one of the best qualifyers, so he can't be beaten without making a mistake.
