  • Do I think that to the majority of the Nations of the World it would concern for them to have very little more garbage of which they have especially Planes Old men with the highest cost of maintenance, these planes much does that they exist, that I know nobody lost the Freedom, with or without planes, flying or in the Soil up to the date.

  • all those millions of dollars .............

  • those F-14s made me sad.

  • @knifemakejake f 16 make me sad :(

  • Aren't there any rich people who'd like to buy themselves a plane and fix it up? That's what I'd do if I were rich.

  • I believe those are just shells of the aircraft that have weapons, tools, and engins taken out. Maybe just awaiting a time to be ready for action if there is a major war.

  • what a waste of these beautiful birds that were still good when they were damned to this place

  • How about melting them down and start building products like this This country used to do . Think of the families supported by their manufacture.

  • stunning the aluminium and titanium are worth a fotune

  • The same tactic was used in ww2, decoys inflatables ect so germans thought we had more PLANES n WEAPONS than we have actually had.....THE U.S GOVERMENT KNOWS WHY.......... WE ARE BEING WATCHED!

  • The graveyard is located on Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona. I used to live not far from this place.

  • it makes me sad just seeing these airplanes sitting in their resting place planes that are grounded for the remander of their lives slowly being broken up to be transformed into razer blades i would hate to have to fly an old plane on her last flight to a graveyard

  • What a collosal waste of taxpayer money - money that could be used for schools, rebuilding bridges, repair our rotting inner cities, fund research to alleviate pain, develop new medicines or replace polluting resources like oil. But no, a monumental graveyard of wasted cash and insane dreams of world conquest. Sheer insanity.

  • @fazzaz31 could not have put it better myself. Yes its a sad/nostalgic sight but its a sadder waste of money. I wonder what the worth of all these planes is now even just in terms of top grade steel. It must be many many millions.

  • air power is the most inaccurate and the most unreliable one. it is the troops on ground that make the whole difference and the way a war is fought. GREAT VIDEO

  • soon to be filled with F-35 and F22. same reason your daddy didnt keep his first car. too much fucking trouble to much money.

  • QUE POCA MADRE VER LOS F-14 TOMCAT DESMADRADOS, ME CAGO EN LOS DESTRUCTORES

  • Nice place to holidays...

  • Hey, give me back my micro-machine collection!

  • and how much money is rotting here???? This is sad. I don't know why they wouldn't even use spare parts from these birds. Also, how qould they get the things there?

  • @MrBunnyslaya037

It's in Arizona because of the low humidity which prevents the aircraft from corroding away. And when needed they are used for parts and if needed they could be fixed up to fly again. They are their in one piece for a reason.

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA ! It's as simple as that....Gold Bless the women and men who proudly serrve us so we can live in peace..It may be a boneyard but with out military budget imagine how fast we could have these puppies up and running again.

  • FAKE FAKE AND MORe FAKE!!

  • @monkeymcspaz Search it on google. Its real.

  • I was in usaf installing antenna right next to

This place on davis monthan afb found a buffalo nickle. Yeah there was alot of planes out there could see in bucket truck

  • That is a big graveyard

  • I wonder how many billions of dollars of hardware is out there?

  • Damn, if i where neighboor, this would be my playground.. :d

  • Can't believe B1B's there too, what a shame

  • it doesnt look that full now

  • This is cool, i live on Davis-Monthan AFB and i pass this stuff every day, if you happen to see this, i can try to get some footage of the planes on base and off base, hit me up with a pm if interested.

  • What a waste of human energy just to kill and cripple. What are we trying to prove?

  • I drive past this shit all the time, its in my city. The Lost City. Tucson, AZ.

  • ive seen the graveyard millions of times and it never gets old heres the cool thing i live in tucson az and im like right next to the grave yard its really huge!

  • those blue planes look stunning similar with Jetstorm i want those planes

  • those blue planes look stunning similar with Jetstorm

  • so sad

  • so sad seeing all these planes like this )=

tbh this is more sad than a human graveyard (might be weird to say that)

  • Would they notice if i took a few b1s? if they are done using them?

  • so sad.....the frigging WASTE my Lord.

  • ther is one in mohjo dester ca may have scutry

  • My teacher told me about this but i never imagined how vast he gravetard was. . creepy but cool

  • I live, honestly about 1/4 of a mile away. I never new how vast this place is. Thank You

  • @ taofledermaus,,yea it could be cool to sneek but man if they have military stuff that they are still using and you get caught, what with all this terrorism shit goin on,,pfffffffffffffffffff it's not worth the risk,,,maybe b4 911,but not anymore...

  • Hauntingly beautiful ...Thank you for showing these beautiful birds who served their Country well and are still giving ....Do you know if there are any like these in California where you can go and visit and not get in trouble ???

  • @marlok1964 I don't know of any places in Calif. but I imagine some exist even if they are much smaller than this one. It would be great to sneak in and explore the planes though.

  • i noticed f-18,f-15,f4 phantoms, and i think f-16

  • most of them are operable if needed at any emergency..but sucha waste of earth and its minerals just for war...such a shame to the country for exploiting the earth tat way.

  • cool

  • creepy music :{

  • At 1:30 are they F-4 Phantom ???

  • Yes they are F-4's

  • Ohh ok thanks. Poor old birds :(

  • can you give me the coordinates from Google Earth? REPLY

  • 32"09'13.59 110"49'20.23"

  • fab appropriate music and for anyone wishing to know the name of the tune its Anna's theme by Joshua Bell. Saw an ariel shot of the graveyard and it spookily resembles a faded persian carpet - looking quite mysteriously beautiful.

  • You are close. It is Anna's Theme, but is by Clint Bajakian. It is from an old PC video game called "Outlaws". The game is mostly forgotten but the songs on the soundtrack are timeless.

  • All the planes are there to be recycled. In pieces and parts or melted down. Nothing ever flies out on its own. For many aircraft it is the only source for replacement hard parts.

  • are the plains abel to being reasembled again for service? Like those Galaxys, B-52s, F-15s and yeah most of them?

  • i hope they dont leave them there for nothing and forever but somehow use them agin like turn them back into service or resicle them.

srry for my bad english :D

  • Great video, but I thought the biggest aircraft graveyard was somewhere in California?

  • There are few Aircraft on reserve currently incase they are needed. The recently Retired Tomcats are on standby thank god..lol

  • @ColoradoSamurai what do they mean by standby?

  • this almost made me cry but i read somewhere that they can be returned to service if ever needed

  • Love the music. Can you tell me what it is ? Cheers.

  • is it accsesseble for turists?

  • give those to the Philippine air force. those cud still be a great help :D

  • yeah u r right it's better for them to give those plane in the philippines so when i am an airforce pilot i can use one of them.. ^_^

  • if you do have a look at this on google earth, take a look towards the top right someone somehow managed to write "hi mom" in the sand/grassland/dirt

  • wtf?

  • its like an old spagetti western. as an aircraft maintainer this clip kinda brings a tear to my eye

  • hey arab potty mouth!...i use the koran for toilet paper and mo-homo-med the false prophet fucks pigs in the cold filthy mud!.../@ wisconsin

  • they had to cut them up for things like salt and start treaty and lay them out so russian mil satelittes can count them!...the ussr+ russia cut up some bombers also!...( usaf surplus not for sale!)

  • "skynet is online!"....wow! I think I need a stiff shot of jack daniels whiskey and a can of coke classic!...this is the most sublime excellent video ever! ...western highnoon clint eastwood music is a ten! perfect!...rust in peace!.../ @ wisconsin

  • THANK YOU FOR POSTING!...in Google Earth right now!

  • I know how you feel Jonesy, the Tomcat was created in the F-111's shadow. I will miss putting engines in the old bird. they both served our country proud. Now they rest.

  • All my F-111's are out there. That makes me so sad. I miss working on that jet. Never thought I would.

  • Oh man Jonesy, you're gonna make me cry...

  • I'm not a pilot but a USAF Vet. Our Mission always was & will be Air Support, seeing these Aircraft with such distinguished Records of Service sitting in the Boneyard flat breaks my heart. I salute you birds, you gave us your all for our Country & Freedom. =\*/=

  • Damn sad, ain't it?

  • Beautifully said my friend!!

  • o kurwa! to wszystko to złom:D?

dali by troche tego polsce :P

    albo mi przed dom przynajmniej..;/

  • ahaha

  • WAT DID THEY DO DRIVE THE PLANES INTO THE GRAVE or CRANE THEM, or TRUCK EM?

  • I think a lot of them are flown in. There is an airstrip adjacent to the boneyard.

It happed By The Yaer from 1989

  • Ah comon, just give me one plane:P They are gonna destroy it anyway:(

  • F-14 is retired

  • Great video, interesting to see aircraft still used there like the F-14 and F-15.

  • This is at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson AZ. It is quite a sight to behold.....

  • I was their at tucson but man I wish I saw the base,

  • i think it's near tucson and willcox i think.

  • Interesting video, good work and all. Unfortunatly you should consider a title change because this is by no means the worlds largest aircraft graveyard, just off the top of my head i can name a handful that are bigger. For example russia has at least two that i know of. If we wanted to be picky then we'd have to call the North Sea the worlds largest, Countrys have used it to off load old aircraft since WW1 and only stop as recently as 2001. A est 16000 aircraft have been sunk there in that time

  • We're talking about Boneyards that you can actually Walk thru genius. not one's we'd have to go down 1800 Fathoms in a pressurized submersible to see. Yeah, ON LAND. 4 miles under the water is no good. understand?

  • I lol'd

  • i actually cried D;

  • what city is this near or in cuz i wana check this out on google earth

  • This is a cool aerial view of billions of wasted taxpayer dollars.

  • wow why the government just sell it in developing country so they xan make it many not trash..

  • cuz they dont want any one to have these things they do not want any one to be strong to stand up against any one if some one will be strong they can stand against us later in time

  • Well, "developing countries" are better off spending their little money on something more important than obsolete military aircraft...

  • Good idea, lets equip unstable governments and tyrants with US military aircraft. Dumbass, how you expect a developing country to maintain the costs of operating the best aircraft in the world?

  • Smart enemy attack you where you are least suspected... look at the end of Roman Empire, Mongolia Empire, British Empire...

  • Wow! that's one helluva backup gun...

  • where exactly has it located? where ii'll be able to find on google earth?

  • Its near tuson arizona and yeah you can find it at google earth just search for bone yard tuson arizona you can see all the old planes parked there looks like plane junk yard

  • damn dude it looks like a airforce base more then a grave yard but whats up with the B1-B Lancers arnt they new?

When I saw this I thought this was for planes that they dont fly no more IDK why I think that but I dont know

  • Yeah they are still in use but this is not only a grave yard this is a storage facility aswell where they put planes they are not using right nowand they call pull them out when they need them and matter fact they are not b1b lancer this is b1 1st version right not latest version b1b lancer is in use its same plane with new upgrades

  • If you call something that has been in service since the mid-80s "new", then, yes, they are new.

I, on the other hand, don't consider these planes "new" just like I myself am not new, nor is my car, camera etc.

  • I think I saw Waldo in there.

  • google earth

  • 2:40 to 3:20 best aircraft ever made the F-111

  • i cant find this on google earth!!!!

  • in case of global war US would recomission all of those planes back into service, that is a hell of a fleet of planes i would guess one raid on some country with thet many planes would completly destroy all government and military strategical targets + bomb the shit out of the cities that ofcourse if we dont send the nukes

  • hey bro where can i download this song? it sounds cool.

  • can i see this on google earth, if so what are co-ordinates

  • Absolutely. The easiest way to find it is to enter "airplane graveyard" in the Fly-to box.

    32"09'13.59 110"49'20.23"

It is on the SE corner of Tucson AZ. You'll find it, there are a million placemarks for it.

  • LOL sounds like the music from Metal Gear Soild lol just came to mind when i herd it =)

(PS im not sayin it is, just sayin its sumthing you would here on the game =)

  • You are very close. It is a song from a game but it is from "Outlaws".

  • this is any future pilots dark saga watching this... it plays with the emotions something cronic..

  • I agree. Even I get sad watching it.

  • Someday the F-22 and F-35 series will be seen there as well...

  • a close friend of mine is a retired ANG MSgt. he gave me a little insight as to the scope of what was there at Davis-Monthan AMARC. Many of these airframes had exceeded their design life span. Some had catastrophic problems (C-5A wing box) others were types that were retired due to cost of maint. (Lockheed doesn't to build and certify parts for the F-104) Others are parted out, the c-130 is still plugging away 55+ years on, parts are cataloged and yellow tagged for re-use. Lots of history!

  • Its sad to see so many aircraft decomissioned some will be reactivated, others will be sold off, and others will simply never fly again. Sigh... well look at the good side in the event of WWIII we could alway reactivate all of those aircraft and launch a massive offensive lol.

  • one person took a plane to the place then setting it up a home,,,

a planehome is a nice place as a home

  • They're not wasting away. They store airplanes in arizona because of the low humidity. It preserves them in case they're needed for parts of reactivation.

  • that has to be recycled

  • yes that is right,,,

all planes are junky and put in shredded then go recycles, too

  • they cant fly because they would easily be shot dowm, most are obolete. And then we would be training pilots to fly old planes, its a death sentence. Sad to see them rust away, but they served a purpose at the time, mostly a show of force towards the Soviets.

  • I saw on Google that there are graveyards for military as well as for commercial aircraft. Just wondering if anybody can just go there, take out some aircraft parts you might find useful at home or for keeps without anyone getting their attention for what you took?

  • we happen to have the worlds 1st and 3rd largest airforce.........USAUSAUSA!!!!!!

  • alot of those planes are their for storage... and get sold off to other countries.. they are not just rotting away... if the US ever needed to they could restore alot of them for combat use..

  • those are the planes john connor and the resistence use on terminator salvation

  • what a waste

  • thats a few b52's

  • Nice vid mate. I know theyre useless now but it seems like such a waste all these planes rotting away.

  • Reminds Me Of Galaga_!

  • lol the OP here NONE of these are airworthy! they would need to be re-complied!

  • 32 09'08.00"N 110 50'32.02"W

  • Lol

  • Yes, there is America's national debt.

  • Nice! Did you record it?

  • This was my first video I shot with my F1. I just set up a tripod and recorded my monitor, pretty simple! That little "Divx" logo shows up at first when you use Ultra Quicktime Converter, eventually it quit showing up.

  • Your right.. Its hard to see my Jets that I have taken pride in circling the wild blue yonder with.. Great video..

  • This is the boneyard at Davis Monthon Air Force Base in Tucson AZ. This footage is pretty old because in the frames around 1:20 it shows the disassembled B-52 that were left out for the Russian (USSR) Satelites to prove we were holding up our end of the disarmarment treaty at the time- mid 1980s??

  • I'm pretty sure the images are no more than a couple years old. This was all filmed off Google Earth. Images of my house, for example, are about 3 years old. Russian inspectors still come to the U.S., I know they come to Vandenberg AFB once a year still to inspect the missile silos.

  • At the bottom on Google Earth it tells you when the imagery was taken. As for the aircraft boneyard... it is dated May 2005.

  • Great example of total waste and great example of human madness and complete stupidity.

WAR IS BULLSHIT. What a waste of tons of perfectly good materiel and engineering from which we could have built a true sustainable society.

  • Many of the aircraft are unairworthy or out of date and will be recycled. Others are sealed for storage. Others will be sold to governments that can not afford the new stuff. None of it will go to waste.

  • Yes, war is bull. If we can convince our enemies, and those who declare us their enemies that fact, imagine what we could do with all the money saved from making weapons.

  • Our fathers must die in order to be achieve greatness.

  • 1:31 are they Phantoms

  • yes, F-4 Phantom II. It is sad to see them fly in because they never fly out.

  • awsome i went to google maps and found it right away

  • If you search around on google maps, you can find the D-21 drones sitting out there. That's the Mach 3 recon drone that was based on the SR-71's technology. Turned out to be a piece of crap, but cool to spot none the less.

  • Yes! I think someone put a mark on the Drone in GE. There seems to be a long row of unique aircraft on display as you drive in. I would love to go on the tour they have there.

  • Poor babies, They deserve to fly. Every last one.

  • My next door neighbor moved to Arizona to gut these planes, forgot which ones he works on, but cool all the same

  • I'm an American and I feel ashamed to see this. Billions and billions of our tax dollars down the drain like this and then to see these "fat cat" politicians having expensive parties at our expense - only to lead the world into total distruction. I see America falling from what it used to be. I love this country, it's the government I am against. Look what was wasted rather than brought back when we abandoned Viet Nam. Money Lost. NOW WE PAY THE PRICE.

  • I look at the bone yard and I just see a lot of money. It might as well be piles of gold sitting in a field. It's probably more accurate to say "trillions" than "billions".

But you can also see this as a "bill" for the price of freedom. Someone has determined that these planes no longer measure up to what we need to protect our country. Seeing this myself brings up many mixed emotions nonetheless.

  • I have read up some on the place and they claim by having this, they are saving taxpayers money. I think they said for every dollar spent, they save $11. You know how accountants use smoke and mirrors to make something appear positive though, lol.

  • Why would you feel ashamed to see this..I must agree I'd rather see all of those awesome planes fly..and it's painful to see the B-52's get chopped up...but for the rest of the planes, some are kept in good condition to be used/sold and some are used for spares to keep the newer ones flying..this saves alot instead of wasting all that taxpayers money, as Fledermaus said. And don't forget most of these aircraft have already been protecting your airspace for 30 years before they got there! :)

  • Hi. Yea, I can see your point. It just brought up a lot of horrible painful memories of all the choppers I saw just pushed overboard in Nam. I seen so much waste in the Military, plus how the veterans are treated. Be tru to yourself and loved ones that's all. I love this country dearly but I feel we are (or were) being guided in the wrong direction. This whole thing brings up painful memories. That's what I meant. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • Most of these airframes have a lot of time on them and are probably borderline on unsafe to fly. There's only so long you can fly a plane until it comes apart, and it's cheaper to just buy new ones. Also, those choppers you're talking about, those images were from the fall of Saigon after the US pulled out of Vietnam. The evacuation was so large that little room was available for helicopters to be stored on ships. Most that were ditched or pushed overboard to make room were South Vietnamese.

  • No need to apologize :) I can imagine it bringing up bad memories, and also in means of waste of money and equipment. Especially if you love aircraft! But I guess it was the right thing to do at that time, as the lives of your own guys/allies are more important than equipment. Also, I can't agree more on the veterans issue, if you've risked your live for your country..you deserve the best.

  • As for the last 8 years, they weren't too great for the States..It's economy, military but also the attitude of the Bush administration towards the rest of the world and even to it's own people. I think you guys have elected a good guy this time, and I hope Obama is gonna bring the change that's needed :) I think the US is a great country, with some nice people, as I have lived over there for a couple of years. But still it can do so much better on some things!

  • The F 14s are like that "mothballed" just in case since it is a proven weapons system, I feel simpathy for those who served and their planes are in there, although I would like to think of it so it is being scraped to serve again.
