教授一直向Laughing灌輸其「黑白融合」的理念，Laughing亦已慢慢認同這統一管治的理想國度。偏偏這時，他發現教授才是真正的幕後黑手。Laughing猶豫不決之際，教授已先下手為強，把所有罪名推在Laughing身上。Laughing慘成代罪羔羊，被全港警察所追捕。
卓景全上任成為新的警務處長日子到臨，眼看教見授快要部署成功，束手無策的Laughing，惟一選擇，就是跟教授同歸於盡……

教授突回來探望Laughing，並透露已為他安排逃獄大計。Laughing沒選擇餘地，在教授巧妙的佈局及支配下，Laughing連同一名老年終身犯毅然逃獄，成功逃出了守衛森嚴的赤柱監獄。
教授與逃獄出來的Laughing，接近目標人物，警務處的助理行動處長卓景全，查出他利用職權，把毒品調查科充供回來的毒品假裝燒毀，實質私自賣回給毒犯，循環不息，不斷獲利。
Laughing想向警隊揭發卓景全罪行時，教授突然阻止，原來金三角武裝販毒女領袖沙普丘秘密到港，這是一網打盡的好時機。果然，沙普丘與卓景全有頻繁接觸，準備安排一次世紀毒品交易。
女聯絡員無意中發現包括卓景全在內的所有黑警，都曾上過教授的課，跟教授有似有還無的聯繫。而Laughing亦發現那名老年終身犯，原來是沙普丘之父。謎團拆解，Laughing被逼逃獄，原來是教授精心安排，為的是要他幫忙救出沙普丘之父。

Laughing求助教授，教授遂以心理治療法，令「大切」病情慢慢轉好。而Laughing亦從教授身上學會心理知識，並視教授如知己和崇拜對象，向他宣洩多年臥底的痛苦及無奈。
正當Laughing以為可從「大切」口中得知黑警名單時，監獄發生嚴重騷亂，混亂之際，「大切」竟伸手挖入自己腹腔，把血淋淋的腎臟取出交給Laughing。
事後，Laughing發現教授曾向「大切」發出死亡暗示，教授受到Laughing質疑後，即直言看穿Laughing是臥底，因為二人在做同一件事。原來教授是警方派入獄中的心理治療師，目的也是要向「大切」套取黑警名單。
教授很快便就販毒案上訴成功，重獲自由。臨離開前，他向Laughing透露，因殺了「大切」，毒犯與黑警已招手，他出獄後便可展開更深入的臥底行動，並謂等Laughing出來，攜手合作。
Laughing透過女聯絡員，要求保安局副局長為自己翻案。豈料，保安局副局長突然猝死在一宗離奇的街頭意外，連帶其他物證都一併被人毀掉，Laughing無法證明自己是臥底，無奈地繼續被囚。
