I was honored to have met Ms. King myself at my place of employment at the time. I was introduced to her through one of her business partners. We spoke about her acting career after conducting business and about a- (then) featured article she had in people magazine on her 'one woman show', that I had recently read. Ms. King seemed pleased that I followed her career. We spoke briefly about public service.
In this video Yolanda says: the civil rights movement I beleive in thrives on UNITY and INCLUSION, not division and exclusion!!! HRC needs to remember this, since they have chosen to forget and leave out the struggle of Transgender people in this movement, in the recent passing of ENDA without trans inclusion!
I happen to be Gay but your comment about this Godly women really sits as an ignorant disrespectful and dumb statement. If you were EDUCATED, you would replay the message and LEARN something. LISTEn carefully and you would recognize she did not criticize whites or gays and that your comment is without merit.
Yes, the same gift her father had was also passed down to her. I'm ashamed that i never heard her speak before....she was an AMAZING woman who spoke the truth. And she was BEAUTIFUL like her mother!
My comments weren't, of course, NOT about Yolanda but our race eating ourselves to death only second to Native Americans, her death was a wake up call to us all, not a way to reunite with our loved one!!
I am so glad her younger Brother aint trying to meet back up with them again so quickly for he has become a Vegan!! yes!! He's not only keeping it REAL but also ALIVE by not consuming dead flesh to death! She was truly a BE~YOU~ti Full Wombman!
If when you die you are so called reunited with your loved ones, then why dont everybody just cut to the chase and commit suicide to speed up the process? oh, that's right, we do that by eating shit called meat, dairy and eggs that kills us off at an early age, right?
It is sad! She was a great speaker and very compassionate towards everyone. Her loss is another blow to civil rights in this day and time of need. God Bless her and the King Family!
although this was spoken 7 years ago, it's still very powerful, applicable words. god bless her and her beautiful voice, soul and compassion. can anyone tell me what happened to her? i'm so sad to hear she's passed away recently. when? why? oh it's sad but this speech proves her voice of truth rings on....thank god...literally. namaste everyone...from lisa

Her mother and herself were advocates of the gay rights movement. Bless their hearts and may the both rest in peace.
Shame on Bernice and Martin III for being vocally against gay marriage. Their father would be so displeased.

It is a sad but true shame that some people in the gay community are anti trans-
As a gay man please know that I fully support all trans people on their journey to hapiness. Afterall they are the "T" in LGBT
