I have a 2001 300m with thew wood package and its great. I wanted the special edition primarily because of the body kit, duel mufflers and the xenon headlamps and the fact that it looks more aggressive and sporty. I got xenons put in recently. Other than that the car is fine the way it is.
The 300M Special is a BEAST! I love mine. Just got it last month. I've loved 300M's since they came out back in 1999, the year I got my license. Always wanted one, saw a flawless, one owner special at a dealership here in Columbus that my family purchases a majority of our cars at. I always loved the 300M, but to now own a 300M is just incredible. To say I love the thing is the worlds largest understatement.
damn, my wife made me trade my 99 300M in on a mazda 3, the 300M was fastttttt, got 24 mpg, not bad! don't get me wrong, the mazda 3 is fast too, the 300M at speed felt like it was lifting or floating, the mazda 3 has more sports car feed back
2nd Gear @ 60+mph. Cant beat it. Though I personally dont do it with my 2 300M's, you can put it in AutoStick from a standstill, take off and dont touch the shifter, it will override the manual operation (so you don't blow your engine!) and shift itself into the next gear (everytime up to 4th). It'll shift once you hit redline. Alot of Drag guys do this I guess with stock 4Spd AutoStick LH platform trannys. I gotta get me a Special's ECU so I can squeeve that 155mph out of mine!!!
oh yeah as you can see he just did a 0-60 in high 6 seconds...but the new 300's with the same motor do a 0-60 in 8.9 seconds which has to account for its extra weight and it being RWD
what the... wow, 6 seconds 0-60mph? oh god, my '93 208hp eagle vision with air intake, new fuel injectors, new timing system, spare wheel removed and 98 octane fuel used did 0-60 on 8 secs and I already considered it a good mark ! What does the word "special" makes reference to?
those 3.5 engines the 300Ms used had 260hp. Very powerful for a car that weights a bit over 3,600 pounds. I had the pleasure of owning a 2004 model 300M with all the features. i missed that car.

Those cars have a fast transmission, I have a 2009 300 with the 3.5( planning to get the 5.7L HEMI) and they do pretty fast 0-60. Godal' Chryslers

It's more like 7.5 seconds for the new 300 with the 3.5 V6.

Whats mods are out their for this car. I have a 2002 and have been trying to upgrade but haven't really seen anything besides intake and an exhaust.

Pretty-sure that they also have no governor, or the MPH is raised. I LOVE these cars. They have great handling.
