That one that died looked like it died when it was forming; not because you didn't get to it in time. [Eyes, head] Also, the body is small and weak looking.
This is awesome thanks for sharing , sad about triples brother or sister poor Lil thing , it's such a shame when the poor chick had gone so far but didn't Make it :0(
Please keep the videos coming on their development :o)
@comedyvideomaker1 Twin chickens have a small hatch rate due to there only being one air sac in the egg, one being stronger than the other, etc. There is a chance that one will hatch but the other will die. It's rare that both chicks live.
She did a great thing helping those babies hatch. Of course, nothing could be done about the deformed one, but she knew the anatomy of the egg and she knew when not to go too far. I don't recommend helping chicks hatch, but there's always exceptions.
My hen currently lay 1 twin eggs. It's huge. I don't know It will survive. The rest of the eggs are so small. This one is just huge. It's double the size.
You've done a great job with both the twin chickens and the video also. You have a steady hand and this was a great assist to watch! Thanks for posting this.
Great job! It looks #4 didn't finish forming anyway, you couldn't have saved it. I had identical twin buff bantam cochin sisters that were like 2 of the same chicken-did everything together, never more than 6 inches apart, even brooded chicks together! It was a bit creepy. *L* Nobody believed they were twins until they saw them. We called them 'The Chicken Sisters' because we couldn't tell one from the other! Thanks for the video, very valuable to see! :)
You did an excellent job of assisting them. Non-bird raisers do not know that sometimes a little help is needed to hatch a chick.........and a knife or sharp instrument is needed to break and cut shell and membrane. It is not something for a beginner to attempt, but is a great assist if performed by an experienced person. I go through this procedure every year with at least one or two chicks. Congrats on your hatchlings. :)
Finally proof!! I had a button double yoker that produced two perfect chicks. No one would believe me that it was even possible. The egg was larger than the others but I still incubated it. two very small chicks came out and are alive and well. Nature is weird, but people are even weirder not to understand anything is possible.
If I get another one will document its hatching to prove it to the non believers.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
tink its ridiculous that you are showing this you are not supposed to help the chicks unless they are much in need of it, as in pipping for 8 hours or more,
Only a seasoned poultry fancier would understand that 2 chics in one egg makes it extremely difficult for them to hatch without help ( no room to maneuver into position to get out) so helping in this situation is perfectly fine!!!!!! -
lol she is breaking into the chickens membrane as the twins are seperated with a light clear film well mine was at least i hope she wasnt stroking it with the knife
@needmorechickens said "The roo is a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and the hen is a Rhode Island Red."
It is not possible, so it is not true, you can't have a a twins of the same egg being purebreds of different breeds if their conception is natural, no discussion about it. Period.

They are not identical. They would have both had to come from one yoke for that. It was a double yoke egg, hence, not identical.
