  • By far one of the best, most fun, creative, game ever. I've been gamin since '84 and this one is up there. Solid review.

  • @superhuman295

Yes, because that's why I hate it. I'm a 12 year old who hates storytelling and can only get enjoyment out of experiences like Call of Duty. I'm sorry saying I hate a game means "Your mother is a whore". Also I hate Call of Duty. Bioshock is a game, and if it's game parts aren't good, why should I care about the story? I loved Max Payne1/2, and those had relatively great stories, and fantastic gameplay.

  • 35 people got squashed by a Big Daddy

  • review system shock 2!!!!!!!!

  • I still have to play this game for real, I rented it a while ago but didn't get very far. But so far for the horror/survival games, my favorite of all time is amnesia. That game scared the shit out of me (literally) without all the extreem violence and gore. Plus the game mechanic of actually moving the mouse to simulate what you are doing in game worked extreemly well, and helped me get even more immersed in this already immersive game. But we will see if it holds up to bioshock

  • @sgtbrown5 bioshock isnt entirely a horror game. the beginning is pretty scary but when u gain plasmids, weapons, and powers, and the story gets deeper. The experience is more of a fun and thrilling sci-fi adventure

  • Bioshock. In my top 3 favorite games of all time.

  • Best game EVER :D saved them all 3 times and the first time upgraded all the best weapons in other words now im a kick ass semi bigdaddy who goes around K-O ing everything

  • I will never understand why this game is so popular, I put like 8 hours into this game and still didn't enjoy it or really get into it

  • @mattyfressh it's okay. you didn't deserve to be a gamer, anyway.

  • @yoigot2tailslol Please elaborate on what a gamer is please. I would love to know what it is, because I thought that I was just giving my opinion on a game that I did not think was that great. I didn't know that it automatically labeled me as not a gamer. So please, if you can find it in your heart, since your opinion of my gamer status is what I'm currently waiting on the edge of my seat for, please define a gamer for me.

  • @mattyfressh i was kidding.

  • @mattyfressh it took me a playthrough to understand why it's so good but after that its been incredibly addicting after that. its probably because its very different from the usual FPS

  • Bioshock movie 2013

  • im my opinion there are 2 games that are like they are forged by god himself:

    1.bioshock

    2.skyrim

  • @TheEman11910 Deus Ex HR ?

  • i referance bioshock and bioshock 2 at school and people think im nuts

  • So many good memory's:) love this game.

  • I hate this game. The atmosphere and story is overrated, the combat is mediocre, while the city is, I have to admit, kind of interesting, everything else is just so boring and annoying. I don't see how people love this game so much.

  • @DeadManWalking49 Well i like it because it's very similer to DOOM 3 in every aspect and also because it does something new the graphics are very nice the combat to me is smooth and the story oh god the story is perfect that my reason anyway

  • @DeadManWalking49 dont say shit anymore this is my fav. game

  • @DeadManWalking49 Its a deep fps game with atmosphere thats in no way overrated.. Story is cool too, but you know, few games have THAT awsome story (MGS, Mass Effect and.. well i can't think of anything else at the moment)

  • @DeadManWalking49 Sounds like a personal problem.

  • @DeadManWalking49 it's for people with brains and enjoy quality storytelling and video games that do something different beside the usual COD treatment. How old are you? 12? No wonder.....

  • Andrew Ryan - best character ever

  • The best thing about this game is that its about the characters, then gameplay second, which is also great

  • Your voice sounds kind of like Seth Rogen's

  • i love this review

  • The 1st time I faced a Big Daddy was probably the greatest experience I've ever had in a videogame

  • @MrCandyland89 i thought it was one of the hardest

  • A man chooses, a slave obeys.

  • CLASSIC GAME ROOM the only youtube channel with a 30 second intro that i like watching

  • i ready dont see whats so special about this game i traded it for assassin creed 2

  • @savage2833 It's pretty unique.

  • @nno1ann IT'S REALLY UNIQUE

  • @savage2833 there's alot thats special about this game, guy

  • @dontliekid You are such a dumbass, there was 720P in 2008 you fucktard

  • @dontliekid Kiss my ass you fucking pussy face, 360P is not fucking HD you RETARD!

  • No one is probably gonna read this

Im just gonna write it any way because i feel at least ONE person will

I'm a commentator/let's player, and I know theres like 100,000x commentators and let's players in this world but I know that I am something different. I am putting a lot of work into my BIOSHOCK BLIND let's plays and I just wish for more people to give my videos a try. I am hoping for at least one person to give my video a try. It doesn't cost you anything.

  • @ChemaShima To many Call of Duty Commentaries, just boring I'll check your channel out for the fact that your not uploading CoD

  • @ChemaShima

Commentary? Thats so boring, its an overused concept. Atleast try to play games that would set you apart from other commentators and montage makers.

Real time strategy or fighting games etc.

  • @ChemaShima ill give it a go

  • Best game, interactive experience ever?

  • HD? its only 360p

  • HD so HD

  • best game the beginning sucks but then it draws u in haha

  • My all time favorite game.

  • i should probably play this game at some point. but batman's out soon...

  • @CinematicallyUnhappy You can pick it up fairly cheap now though, and it is well worth it!

  • UUGGGLLYYYY!!!!

    *unloads with a machine gun

  • an intruder... he is ugly... UGLY! UGLY! UGLY!

  • I remember playing this game for the first time. in the first 10 or 15 minutes i was still adjusting to the gameplay and the storyline but that special moment when a game captures your soul was when the song if i didnt care came on.

  • One of the best games I've ever played, unfortunately they haven't released it on the Vectrex yet... :(

  • Is it possible that when you buy this game on CD (pirate version), the CRACK folder does not come along with it!? this is really pissing me off!!!

  • Still haven't played this game... I suck.

  • @pokemonizkooolio i only played for about 2 hours :).....i might play it next after i finish arkham asylum(which is incredible)

  • this game is excellent !

  • Permission to slap anyone who would rather play Call of Duty ?

  • @gam3r3602 permission granted. proceed

  • @gam3r3602 Granted, with pleasure.

  • From where is the tune that sounds in 1:28 ?

  • Just finished this, most overrated game I ever played :\ 96 metascore my ass. I was good, and I definitely enjoyed it, but I was expecting so much more. Sure, the setting was good and it had an awesome vibe, but the gameplay was just a huge series of fetch quests :\ Like I said still a good game but nowhere near as good as it's made out to be

  • It's Basically System Shock 2

    But 50 Fathoms Underwater

And With A Creepy 50's Vibe

    And Steam-Powered Security

    And, Well A Similar Story

    Same Ideas

    Same Kinds Of Powers

    Same Kind Of Melee Weapon

But With A Helluva Lot More Awesomeness

  • game looks stupid

  • @Zac6230

you must be joking right.... haha..

  • you say COD i say Bioshock.. and you'll say: "oh yeah... your right..."

  • Best game i've played by far!!!

  • "......and its NOT the city that the Snorks live in." lolz x50

  • what great about this game for me is how creepy i can relate to ryan's ideals. I see parasites everywhere makes me want to believe that there is a city under us where i can finally spend my money for myself alone. No more healthcare and bs that doesnt benefit me. Evey man for himself.

  • I've heard that this game has great atmosphere, and is a great game, but I've heard it's part horror, and is it? I hate horror games. -_-

  • @HombreHonest Well, the use of light and dark is amazing, and you could have enemies chasing you through the dark and stuff, and some random encounters with enemies and others jumping out of nowhere. But there's always an underlying sense of humour.

    Play it anyway, it's amazing!

  • @MichaelLawlorRojas I played through the whole game, and it was simply amazing. I'm glad I played it. :)

  • @HombreHonest theres no horror xD but bit creepy parts which music makes it creepier but, it's more action than anything else. This game is a masterpiece, it's a MUST play!!!

  • @HombreHonest It's creepy, but not particularly scary. There's a couple scares early in the game, but nothing where you'll scream or jump out of your chair.

  • Playing it right now and its really awesome its truly a new world with new characters with different personalies and they even got their own quotations.

  • @SexxxyyDonJuan hope ya enjoy the game

  • fuck kfc

  • picked it up for $8 today man im glad i did its great :D

  • In a world where first person shooters are mindless online games with steryotypical soldiers with steryotypical guns. Games like this show that story and atmosphere is far superior to shooters. games like this and half life 2 show this and im glad that there is some shooters that dont rely on multiplayer.

  • @GamerNinjaX True that. :)

  • I heard that this game is writen by a book writer. no wonder the story is so good

  • @KQH8 when the twists near the end came they blew my mind

  • @Themexicannatzi Great game, stands up to most shooters.

  • @KQH8 Amen

  • I think fallout 3 and bioshock are brothers

  • I had the 1st Bioshock on 360, after my 5th xbox red ringed on me, I switched to ps3 (great choice, love the ps3 over the 360) but I never beat Bioshock, I'm planning on getting Batman Arkham Asylum along with Bioshock 1 & 2 today, Batman I had on 360 but I want to replay seeing how Arkham City is coming soon, Bioshock worth rebuying? I never played Bioshock 2

  • I'm not very good with rpg video games. would bioshock be good for me? is it fun 2 play?

  • i loved this game

  • This is the best game in the world, it is sad they are butchering the title with the new infinite where the story evolves around saving this woman with big boobs, its just sad.

  • @dcymfercano but hey, the game looks good it doesnt have to stay the same. I didnt think Bioshock 1 and 2 were the same, but the bioshock series is fun. and big boobies :)

  • @dcymfercano shit used my other account hate gmail

  • getting both on wednsday, cant wait!

  • lol i like that bit where that guy is

an intruder he is ugly ugly ugly UGLY!!!!!!!!!

  • I take it the eeriness and wonderment of the original Bioshock as opposed to the sequel is comparable to the differences between FEAR and FEAR 2. Speaking from my experiences, FEAR tried to scare the ever-living out of you whenever possible, but not in obvious ways and it occasionally broke up into action sequences to change the pace; FEAR 2 was mostly about action with very little terrifying moments.

So am I right in that assumption, should I just get both Bioshocks for a complete experience?

  • @EternalSage07

i played both games, and although its true, that the second part isnt that creepy and perhaps not sooo atmospheric, its still a great game and gameplaywise way better than the first one imo...

    so get it!

  • @BurtonRGA7 I've recently picked up both games. I'm actually looking forward to the new additions of the second though, especially wielding both a weapon and a plasmid power at the same time. I'm used to the quick-swapping after playing through the first couple areas in Bioshock, but it's still a bit of a hassle so I'll be enjoying 2 more so on that front.

For the most part, so far so awesome with Bioshock. I get why people are so captivated by its eerie atmosphere and timeless story.

  • Bioshock FTW

"I Am Andrew Ryan, And I'm Here To Ask You A Question."

"Is A Man Not Entitled To The Sweat Of His Brow?"

"NO Says The Man In The Washington, It Belongs To The Poor!"

"NO Says The Man In The Vatican, It Belongs To God!"

"NO Says The Man In Moscow, It Belongs To Everyone!"

"I Rejected Those Answers. Instead I Chose Something Else!"

    "I Chose The Impossible!"

    "I Chose-------RAPTURE!"

    Classic

  • @ITzThinking Best comment I have seen so far on youtube

  • Just got Bioshock for my pc a couple days ago, playing it for the first time. I'm only on the 3rd level or so and I must say this game is so creepy/fun/awesome and deep it's so sweet. constantly upgrading your stuff and finding new ways to kick your enemies asses is so addicting. i'm hooked

  • @bjwiebe123 Yea once you get hooked, you can never stop. I'm in the middle of my 3rd playthrough.

  • you really make the game worthy to what is is! thumps up!

  • I love Bioshock

    how can anyone hate it?

  • @danin900 I never encountered anyone that hated Bioshock. Truly an unbeatable series.

  • @Hikarilover123 I know a lot of people, just look for people who liked ''System Shock 2'', they always hate the fact that Bioshock is considered a ''spiritual sucessor'' to it

  • "Every now and then you play a game that is more than a game, it's an experience" - No Mark, I doubt there will ever be an experience like Bioshock again..

  • @Shadowfied Also what I meant to say was that this is the only game for me which has really been an experience..

  • @Shadowfied Have you ever played Half Life(1 and/or 2)?

Have you ever played System Shock(1 or 2)

  • @danin900 I have played Half Life 2, great game but it's not an experience at all to me.

  • @danin900 And yes I played the entire game.

  • @Shadowfied how can it no be?

    it is an experience

just not the SAME experience as Bioshock

    you know, forget about it

    both games are awesome

I just LOVE Half Life, that's all

  • is this game supose to be scary or what??? i dont know but the game look cool so tell me

  • @69873167594 its more of a really realisticly eerie atmospheric game, its not scary just creepy, and its amazing so BUY IT

  • @SubliminalBen lol haha is it for ps3?? cuz i like it

  • @69873167594 yes.

  • @69873167594 yeah, i have the ps3 and pc version, the ps3 is version is bassically the same but has some additional fixes and stuff so its actually kinda better, it is a port though

  • Best game ever.

  • Just beat this game about an hour ago. Best thing about the sounds used in this game is the Little Sisters voices, when you can hear the deep voice of a monster behind their sweet little girl voices. And the Big Daddy's roar and footsteps as he comes at you to bash your face in when you didn't even realize that you walked to close.

  • @verriitas Too*

  • This game is freaky, but boy, is it fun!

  • I sincerely hope they can do the same they've done with this one only on infinite, that sense of misterious and wonder that we all didn't get from the seconde one although it's still very fun and awesome

  • WHOS YOUR DADDY!

  • 6:10 - 6:13 "long live Atlas" :p

  • Comment removed

  • omg the console version looks horrendous! on the pc version the hacking is sooo much faster, and the Big Daddies are also much faster and a real challenge. here they're just walking

  • I freaking love this game =D

I played it through 6 times and one time one hard.

And it is my favorite 360 game EVER =D

  • in a weird way you sound like seth rogan

  • thnking of getting this and bioshock 2 for a total of $15-20, is worth it?

  • @TWOCentHo It´s worth it if you enjoy half fps/survival horror games. I bought both and played them through one after one.

  • @dwagothegod quite honestly im torn between one, or both of the bioshock games, or non-game-of-the-year-edition-Oblivion. i'm leaning towards bioshock 2 or oblivion, cause i pretty much finished the first bioshock lol, reccomendations?

  • @TWOCentHo Hmm, i can give you suggestions from any genre if you got a 360 PS3 i know a few games that´s good not so much. If it´s 360 or PC though.

  • @dwagothegod yeah i'd appreciate it if you did. thanks man.

  • @TWOCentHo Yes! For god's sake yes!!!

  • I like your review because you keep your attention to what is essential. I love this game a lot, it's so immersive (no pun intended). The only thing I don't like much is the fps part. Weapons are generally louzy, and when they're not, ammunition is very scarce. The shooting is too chaotic and the enemies keep running and strafing all the time during the fights. Best story and tone I've ever seen in a game. But not the best fps at all.

  • @Demonhorse1 Why did you say no pun intended? it would have worked if you had said submersive instead of immersive.

  • @blank21121 The verbs "immerse" and "submerse" are not that distant in meaning. The first word focus on the relation inside/outside. The second focus on above/below. The way I see it, they are very related to each other when it comes to water (inside/outside the water or above/below the surface). In fact, the thesaurus (I just checked) lists the verb "immerse" as one of the synonyms of the verb "submerse". So i guess the pun (if intended) would work.

  • i got it doday and its kinda scary but AWESOME

  • man this game wont get old

  • @thelpfen Agreed. I didn't buy bioshock 2. I'm too invested in this one to really care.

  • @brokrishnan i think you should in my opinion it is worth it just for the drill and different weapons

  • You talk so damn slow.... I like your reviews but damn...

  • i absolutley love this game. one of the best games released on the 360 by far.

  • One of the things I didn't really liked about Bioshock was the camera, it made the confrontations so unrealastic and stupid when you were trying to take a picture of the splicers every 2 seconds -.-

  • @Jort007 lightning, then take a photo. done.

  • @omgitsduane1 Still stupid, not fun and unrealistic right? I don't know what you meant to say with that comment?

  • @Jort007 electrobolt them so they are frozen, whip out the camera, take a photo and thats it. do that all the time and youll learn it all easily.

  • @omgitsduane1 I didn't say it was difficult -.- It's just stupid and takes me out of the atmosphere.

  • the funny thing is, i went around saving and sparing everyone, but i REALLY wanted Sophia Lamb to die lol

  • Im playing this on Onlive.

  • Should I get this game for PS3 or PC? My PC is pretty souped up so running it on there won't be a problem.

  • @brettwisniewski PS3 version has more content and has several other minor improvements that make it better than PC or Xbox360 versions. PC version also has horrible DRM. A big drawback to the PS3 version however (this is just my opinion though) is the fact that it forces you to use L2 and R2 to aim and shoot, instead of L1 and R1 as is the default. And there's no way to change it. Overall, PS3 version is probably the one you should get.

  • this game is hard as fucking nails. even on easy.

  • @AllWalksofLife Hmm, you don't play a lot of other games then, do you?

  • @Jort007 Hah thought i was playing it on easy but it was on normal. But really compared to the average FPS Bioshock is way harder. So much more strategy. I loved it though.

  • @AllWalksofLife Hmm, yeah it can make it difficult. Especially the first time when you are figuring out how everything works. I personally find shooters like Call of Duy way harder (on the hardest difficulty that is) because you have so little health you could be dead by one bullit.

  • @AllWalksofLife yeah what the fuck. ive watched GIRLS just run through this game on easy. you retard.

  • @omgitsduane1 Girls can't be good at a video game? I beat this game on the hard difficulty, just like I best all my games on the hardest difficulty. Don't be a dick.

  • @omgitsduane1

my sister is one of the best Battlefield players I know. She beat BioShock on hard without breaking a sweat.

  • @austinthebookworm5 prob on console.

  • @omgitsduane1

    uh no. on steam.

  • hacking is so much more fun in this game then in the sequel.

  • U evil bastard, why u harvest little sister...O.o

  • bioshock 1 is far superior in creepyness then bioshock 2. but imho i think bioshock 2 is better when it comes to a fun factor(except for cohen in 1 he was awesome)

  • @hhheeeccckkk526

Well, Bioshock 2 has some cool weapons and plasmid upgrades, but it's a lot easier (and there's no survivor difficulty) than Bioshock 1. In Bioshock 2, the only challenges were the Big Sister fights.

  • @cyberpolice9000 well im not saying that bioshock 2 was harder. bioshock 1 was definitely harder then 2 but im saying that bioshock 2 was more fun to play. bioshock 1 is still a great and fun game to play but all the changes in bioshock 2 made the game alot more fun to play imo.

  • @hhheeeccckkk526 nope bioshock 1 is better in litteraly everyway (except for duel plasmids) characters are better its more atmospheric its better storry has a better character is more fun, has more exploration is longer, its cooler, its BY THE RIGHT DEVELOPER unlike the second, its original.... ITS INCREDIBLE

  • @SubliminalBen do you know the meaning of the word "opinion"? i have mine and you have yours

  • @hhheeeccckkk526 not only in creepiness

I prefer Bioshock's protagonist Jack to the Delta Big Daddy

  • @danin900 everyone is entitled to their opinion. i find bioshock 1 and 2 extremely fun but there is something in 2 that makes it so much better to me.

  • The best game of FPS, only second to Half-Life.

  • 4:07 i love how he keeps hitting her

  • if there was a under water city that you can actually live in it loud be awesome

  • @thelpfen I'm pretty sure some crazy maniac would start trying to break the glass

  • @thelpfen If there was an underwater city and I lived in it, I would crap my pants twenty-seven times and travel half-way through insanity before I escaped.

  • apparetly the guy in this game dosen't have feet...

  • @CHAOSin8bits It's not that weird for the player not to be able to see the characters feet... in fact it's more common than when you can.
