I am reasonably sure Paul Leim also did session work for some Lionel Richie recordings.. so yes, he really did get around and wasn't just a country drummer.
I like the fat sound of those drums. I wasn't crazy about some of the cymbal sounds, though. Cymbals can be weird, though. The same cymbal can sound great in one situation and hurtin in another.
I've got a lot of respect for the Nashville guys like Leim. It would be as cool to watch him groove as it is to watch a solo....
I have been searching for Paul Leim gear. Anyone know what make of Yamaha he gigs with and/or records with? Looks like a recording custom, but I am not sure. P.L. rocks!
I've never heard Paul tear it up other than what I've heard on the radio like on Pam Tillis - Memphis. This is some badass playin!

nice, he tunes his snare really low, listen to teddy campbell use the paul leim signature snare,totally cranked up,made me want the snare.

Agreed. I am normally a Zildjian and Sabian man myself, so maybe Paiste is getting better (or my hearing is getting "older"...)
