you said in the last video that it causes your face to turn red. How long does this last? Your face doesnt look red in this vid but it is hard to tell because of the low resolution.

Also, did you ever drink while on it? If so, Can you tell me about your experience with alcohol while on it?

i saw her slideshow, and it looked like she had severe enough acne to consider accutane. 'sides, it looks like she's wearing makeup compared to her slideshow.

my acne was pretty bad, but my slideshow shows it off better than my webcam since I actually took full resolution photographs. The webcam washes out my face, so you can't see the crazy skin.

Im day 12 now and i have a wicked initial breakout, it hurts to eat lol. but im still hoping that it will get better after.

only side effect I've had so far is dry lips and skin but thats pretty standard.

i actually am only on 10mg for the first 4 weeks, then up to 20mg for a couple of months, then probly 40mg for the rest of the journey.

Good luck! It always gets worse before it gets better. You should notice the biggest improvement by month 2 or 3. Then this painful period will be a thing of the past!

yeah it has worked, pretty much no acne left at all.

i have taken 20mg a day for like 8 months now and still have like a month to go. pretty keen to stop taking it but cant complain about the results.

I don't have depression but some stress. I think the worst it can do is give you aches and dry out your lips.

I should start taking it, but I work...and I don't want to be fucked up while working.. Did you ever get to the point where you wanted to commit suicide? Because that's what some people say they had to sign papers for.

Sooooo sorrry it took me so long to respond to this, I just saw the comment! So, when you research accutane, it said that most cases of depression occurred in adolescent males.

That being said, it's still a rare symptom. To be honest, the first week was the roughest, and I felt really down, but I think that was because I hated my acne, and had a lot of stress at the time.

In most cases, suicidal thoughts dont happen, and as long as you monitor yourself, you will be just fine :)

with acne i think is more likely to be suicidal off accutane than on it! im on roaccutan now and feel like there is something to look fwd to so wont be allowing any suicidal thoughts before i see myself with CLEAR skin!!!! If you keep the end result in mind that should keep ur thoughts off suiciding. so Cavin, fear not and join our community!

hey yeah i have also been having those lower back pains especially since im in sports and we stretch back ,front nd it hurts bt i think if the stretching kinda helps it out a bit.....nd im on day 20.....

Thanks for the kind words. I've noticed that my back pain is worse about an hour after I go to the gym. But I really don't stretch enough, so thanks for the advice. I'll start doing a whole lot more of that!

That's good your side effects aren't too bad! I start Accutane Feb. 6. I can't wait!

I expected my side effects to be way worse, but so far it's all very bearable and I can lead a normal life, hooray!! I hope it goes well with you. All it takes is a little patience and you'll do just great!

Ive had the lower back pain as well. Its weird. I feel it the most when I lay on my back, relax, and exhale. Sorta feels like my lungs are being poked for about 20 sec then it goes away.

My back pain is pretty minimal right now. My dermatologist just told me that if it gets unbearable, I can just pop some Ibuprofin and be okay. I'm so glad to hear it doesn't last very long though! Keep up the good work!

Thanks Sami! I guess the derm could tell I was a scaredy cat about taking accutane, so she started me off really low.

So far so good though, I'm really excited about getting to month #2 already, only a week or so left to go, woohoo!

Good stuff, but don't be discouraged if you break out in week 3 or week 4.. maybe since youre on a lower dose it will happen later... I am a month in on 30 mg.. and my huge breakout was weeks 2-4... but things look like they are getting better now. Good luck

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, if this is THE breakout I'm going through right now, it's totally manageable. And they go away in about a day or two once they come out, I'm like wolverine!
