  • Putting these videos together, you could have a great mod for hl2. It would be nice to play the combine side, breaching, tactics, wall scaling, it would bring out the tactical side of hl2.

  • crossing paths isnt really the best thing to do. the breacher should have gone last. the 2 to the right should have gone to the right and the guy in the doorway shouldnt have been there, but to the left and gone in before the breacher...

    or all stack to one side of the door (i would have chose left) breacher gos in last...

  • @tonymarie1984 Thank you Captain Obvious. It's not hard to research this stuff, you know. Besides, making a perfectly correct door breach wasn't the intention, this was scripting practice.

    Now don't you have anything better to do than give people shit about the military accuracy of their videos? If no, take it somewhere else. You're not impressing anybody here.

  • @tonymarie1984 Well it actually makes more sense because the guy on the left has more view of the right of the room than the guy on the right, making it easier to clear the room in quick timing. Same for the guy on the right he has more of a view of the left side of the room considering the door blocks any sight of the right side of the room...

  • Tip for better filming: use the "noclip" cheat to make a fly-around camera, and type crosshair 0 in the console to remove that horrible crosshair. Good job a yways

  • @ninjapig537 With hammer editor you can make maps for hl2 engine games. ex: counterstrike source, team fortress 2, garrys mod and left 4 dead 1 and 2

  • yeah probably because I have looked in the combine soldier model in model viewer and it werent there but I use a reload animation instead

  • @callinstead09 no the metro cops use it when your in the canals level so repel should work fine

  • There's already one like that :( it's an official HL expansion I think. You can code the NPCs to act differently though, I personally don't know how but there's a lot of guys on garrysmod org that do custom NPCs. I'm always working with the CSS configuration in hammer so I'm not too familiar with all the NPC keyvalues.

  • I think you can right click them in hammer then in the property section, use the options to turn the command off

  • Me and a few friends have tried twice, but it simply doesn't keep our attention enough for us to keep working at it.

  • That sounds about the same with me and my friends. We get a good beginning but just never finish it, just get lazy and never even finish the first level or textures or models.

  • When you equip a normal soldier with a shotgun, it should automatically change the skin.

    I havn't been mapping recently, so I may be off.

  • He's a specialized soldier, and from the insignia, appears to be a variant of the Elite, however, behind the scenes, the insignia is meant to represent the whole Overwatch Earth Force, and not just elites.

    And he isn't necessarily the leader.

    When I make squads in Hammer, they typically comprise of:

    -SMG1 Soldier (leader)

    -Another SMG1 Soldier

    -AR2 Soldier (support)

    -Shotgun (CQB)

    It was mostly based on Republic Commando, where one of the commandos would stand in front of the door most likely to assess how many targets are inside, then quickly move behind cover. As for the bomber, he can be in any position he wants after placing the charge.

  • It's a simple brush tied to func_breakable with concrete materials.

    When the explosion happens it fires an output which forces the door to break.
