I am out of provice right now and I am glad she didn't make it as mayor. It makes me laugh a little. I had her as a presenter 16 years ago at writers workshop when i was a kid . We were selected to attend based on academics. She was not a very nice lady that day; she lost it on us 10 nerdy students in her class. It doesn't count much for politics but it stuck with me and i have always remembered her as "the mean lady on the news." I Never thought i would get to see this ---Ha! Barb Higgins FAIL.

You are an excellent speaker; however, I want someone who has a proven background of leadership as well as success in managing a business. I was happy when I heard Barb would be running for mayor. Ralph Klein was also a broadcast journalist that chose to enter politics. She has definitely earned the trust of Calgarians over the years, and I think that will give her an edge.

I can't stand McIver. He's been the alderman in my ward for years, and he's done nothing but fill our ears with grandiose lies. We need someone fresh and new, with a connection to the people. I think Barb will be great.

Anybody can use quicken to balance a budget no matter the income, so the question comes down to trust over experience. Of course Barb is going to have her own team of financial experts. People aren't stupid they can relate to someone who has contributed to their lives as oppose to "others" who have been spending money poorly.
