No. Games don't rip off from real life.

Focus on my point - The idea from other games, dodging and jet packing. They are copying the ideas but alos are showing no innovation at all.

As for the language issue, language is a universally applied tool for communication. If a writer writes a very good novel/poet etc in his/her very own innovative style and other writers copy it, it's ripping off.

but is the game fully similar/same to said copied game? is it fully copied over till the actions are similar, the movement are similar, jumping, jetting and etc are entirely similar? if they are different even from just aesthetics, they have already changed part of the original idea and put in their OWN graphics to the same idea/theme, i.e. dodging and jetpacking, this show they did changed something right?

btw im talking about language generally,plagiarism is obviously wrong.

also now to see it in your viewpoint.

lets say a company wants this jetpacking idea implemented in their game. what can they do to NOT copy your said game (i.e. tribes and UT) from what i see, they have already changed the graphics, they only took the idea of jetpacking as a whole. if your saying this is ripping, so one FPS use gun, another FPS cannot use guns? i dont fully get your idea of ripping. mind clarifying? we may even be talking about different points here.

So it's like many other games have bad guys vs Counter terrorists. They already changed the graphic, they changed the sound, they changed the appearance, but anyone can easily be reminded of Counter Strike.

As well, any game can implement the famous phrase "Changin' Mag", but anyone can easily be reminded of Modern Warfare.

Yes, games can do some changes and add new ideas, but many obvious features only make them look like wanna bes.

FPS games use guns because it's a genre.

dont really wanna start a full blown debate on someone's vid, so this will be one of the last replys, getting out of point with the original video.

if a game does well in copying an idea and making it personal, i.e. something that is changed a LOT, i dont see why its considered fully copied. take this game for e.g. its taking the old games and FPS in general to a whole new level. its something "new" from the old games. getting reminded is just nostalgia which can be good sometimes.
