and prepare to have your arguement incinerated. please post on dawson's blog so he can talk some sense into you and keep you from walking around in confused circles of fallacies for the rest of your life. lol
When someone disables ratings, it strongly suggests, that they know they're in the wrong, or at least very unpopular. It shows that they believe they have a better chance of spreading their video if people aren't allowed give their opinion of it. Very telling. Censorship is not a valid form of argument.
No. Your comment is very poorly stated and upon analysis simply not accurate. The first sentence doesn't even make good sense when it combines two totally different scenarios. Furthermore, on almost every Bahnsen video on this channel ratings are enabled, which leads any neutral inquirer to believe that the person uploading them just probably didn't care one way or the other about ratings. - The page enables comments which nullifies your "censorship" theory. Valid forms of argument? - hilarious
Love the framework Bahnsen presents. Very helpful. Here is a Christian philosopher who really understands philosophy & knows the history of philosophy.
I do not claim there to be sin, therefore, I do not have to explain it. You said there is sin, so you must account for it. If it is not seen outside the Bible, or conventions thereof, you have a big problem ahead of you.
Also, you missed my central point about totalitarian doctrine: You are told you are sick, and commanded to be well. Sorry I didn't spell it out for you.
No, you don't understand at all the doctrine of original sin, instead you comment on a subject of which your obviously ignorant. Why is it unjust for God to command us to be Holy? Do you think the government should abandon laws because people break them? We are all sick, thats why Christ has come to heal us. You are commanded to repent for the sake of Gods glory, the world around you, and your own life. Faux-philisophical objections aren't fooling anyone
"Why is it unjust for God to command us to be Holy?"
You assume that there is a God. You are so condescending to people who do not share your faith. You lack sensitivity to those who do not believe. You treat 'us' as lost souls and you talk of Christ 'healing' us. How presumptuous of you, wouldn't you say?
I'm supposed to be ashamed that I assume there is a God? Its apodictacially provable!
I am very reasonable and have had freindly extended dialogues with many atheists on the internet. I do not call you lost from my own imagination or authority, I am only repeating Gods claims he has made in His revelation.
So unbelievably myopic. If you don't like the word sin then substitute it with ignorance or the act of being totalitarian,or the problem of limitation. You clearly object to Bahnsens lecture, I assume you must believe in some ethical standard greater than your own personal dislike that he is transgressing.(sin) Please, without relying on a Christian view of the universe account metaphysically for that standard and then tell me why humans are incapable of keeping it.
Sounds like you are the one who is lost. That last sentence was horrifically constructed. Please try again. Your words and syntax astound me.
I do not believe in a moral standard; this is the problem with 'God-followers'. They believe that there MUST be this, or else how do we know right form wrong. Silly.
illustrate the contrary, please. Or do you just prefer to employ dogmatism. Well, that won't get you very far. So if there is no manner of moral standardizing, then why can't I go out and kill old ladies. Don't say "because its against the law" or "because of the social consensus"-thats question begging.
If you are telling me what I can and can not say , this will go nowhere (in your prior post).
Laws are often wrong and it is stupid of you to think that it possibly be a part of my reasoning. Killing old ladies is not neccesarily something that you can not do. You assume to think that it is an obvious case, when it isn't.
Secondly, there are laws given to humans, by humans, before the old testament. The code of Hammurabi is one distinct example (pre-old test.) Are you trying to tell me that before the 10 commandments were given we we able to survive until that time thinking murder, rape etc.. were ok? It is an absurdity beyond compare.
Last response nevermind. If you want to debate these issues you need to first have a basic understanding. If you have sincere questions send me a message -The Christian claim is that God has revealed himself to all men through general revelation. Even pagans like the Caananites knew God through their internal constitution and through nature. All men know God innately because they were created in His image, though they self deceive themselves because they dont want to submit to his authority.
If this were ture then there would be no such thing as 'agnosticism'. Men would simply know God. However, there are people in the world who have to be taught who God is. This is why there are missionaries of Christ etc.
Your pressuposition for Christianity blinds you and is self-defeating.
Nevermind, this is another lecture I have to give you. This is a Sunday school inquiry into Christian theology. If you don't understand the position to the point where u think those r challenging objections, don't debate, ask me, or any reasonably knowledgeable Christian what the Bible says about disbelief and people who haven't heard about Christ.
professor - LOL - I just need to stop commenting. Its true though, I would have to sit here all damn day to answer the same objections over and over when it can be researched quite easily.
Then why are you criticizing Bahnsen for being totalitarian! Which is it homeboy? If you dont believe in moral standards then live like it! You wonder why you feel condescended to when you contradict yourself at every turn! Its impossible reason with you!
Is rape, and child molestation and the Holocaust OK if you or society deem it acceptable? Gimme a break!
You assume so much it is astounding. Ask yourself this question, "If rape, child molestation, and the Holocaust were said to be ok by the Bible's standard, would it make it so?"
We do not need to look to an ancient book to understand this sensitivity.
By the way - Did you seriously call me a homeboy?(and you think I lack sincerity)
That is what is called a heretical hypothetical. If a triangle was round would it eat Coco-Puffs? Probably not, since the question is nonsense. You do not need to look to a book because u have been created in Gods image and know, in a primitive sense, right from wrong. This is not a fact that helps your position.

Who really gives a rip about ratings when comments are available. Ratings are a generic way of agreeing or disagreeing.
bs2174 2 years ago
sure, but why bother to disable them, if you're not afraid that many people disagree with you?
kyebean 2 years ago
I don't think it's a matter of being afraid, if nothing else for me it's more of a distraction then anything. Perhaps youtube can ditch the ratings.

Ratings are enabled by default. If the uploader didn't care why would he disable them?

God created millions of people knowing before they were even born that they would go to Hell. Nothing could change that.

Yes and I'm sure that's very discomforting to you. Which is why you "dont like" and thus reject God's existance.
I'm sure you would want to wish a truck away right befor it's about to run you over too, but that doesn't change the truth.
You and they had and have opertunity through Christ wother taken or not; there for are with out excuse.
God does not need you or anyone else's aproval for His actions, as though you knew His mind and know why He does as He does.

Your use of the word 'heretic' is unfounded, since there is nothing to be a heretic of. This is what you assume.
Whether you say 'innately' or 'primitively' you are not addressing the point anyways.
