Yeah, I didn't expect much when entering the cinema to watch Avatar, but when I sat down and put 'em 3D glasses on and the film started, a sense of wonder and excitement hit me. Such a great movie experience!

Download is illegal and a crime! If any idiot has watched in on their pc LMAO doesnt even compare to a decent quality IMAX dual strip 70mm 15pef.

I refused to see this at the Odeon Leicester Square because the sightlines and the sound system is just so lousy.

It should have got booked in at the Empire Leicester Square in Dolby3D JBL 56KW THX.

Oh, well Ive waited now and its out on Bluray next month so its gonna be played on the LCD projector / JBL 1.5KW sound system.

I loved the movie and it is by far the best movie that I've ever seen.

Having said that, it was equally impressive how they captured the emotion of the actors in the Na'vi faces was completely amazing.

No. It was worth watching just because of the animation and the imax 3-D, but they relied on that for too much. It can't make up for a boring plot, boring characters and an overall unoriginal and predictable story. I can only assume that James Cameron kept this script on the shelf for a decade or so, to allow technologytime to catch up to his vision, because anybody could have written that scrpit in a day.

By the way, not seen this yet, but going to watch this in IMAX 3D this Thursday. Already booked tickets like a week ago, on premier seats too (best location at the back and middle).

I've been to IMAX a number of times before, seen both batman movies and last movie watched was transformers 2 on IMAX. Seen a documentary in IMAX 3D (which was awsome) but never a movie in IMAX 3D.

So IMAX is not new to me, but the experience will still be good.

Would you be able to ask the staff over there the exact screen size of the IMAX. Apparantly, Odeon opened two new IMAX screens in the UK in time for avatar, one in Cardiff and one in Metrocentre.

Unfortunately, the Cardiff one is retrofiited and small in comparison to a proper IMAX screen. However, I had heard that the one in Metrocentre is purpose newly built and a decent size for being a IMAX screen.

already seen it for the second time tonight and the screen is indeed huge...dont know exact size but it has been newly built and purposely made for IMAX and 3D...and also in digital which means clearer picture and sharper audio and boy you can really feel it...I estimate the screen is about 15+mtrs high and about 24+mtrs wide...

When I saw Avitar 3D at the local cinema, it was indeed digital. It looked like a DLP projector with a screen door like effect. It was very poor quality. Is the IMAX up to film quaity or will I see the same thing there?

To all those who are posting links for watching online, do you have nothing better to do. Seriously, this is James Cameron's biggest blockbuster since titanic costing over 300 million dollars and years in the making.

An opportunity to watch this in its glory on a massive IMAX 3D screen and all you can post about is a link which no doubt will be some awful crappy quality on a tiny computer screen with crappy sound.

We have Imax in Sacramento, but they stupidly release new movies a month or two after the worldwide release. It's also all the way downtown. I'm sure it's awesome on Imax, but I'm just going to see it in the regular theatre that's close to my house.
