  • what language is this like german or something

  • The segment featuring the character Kasper Weiss is my favorite of all the segments in this outstanding movie. While all the violin music you hear in the film was performed by Joshua Bell, Christoph Koncz, the child portraying Kasper Weiss, was---and still is---an outstanding violinist. He was selected for the role after a long search for someone who was a fine violinist and who looked very young. Koncz fit the bill perfectly, being 10 years old but looking about 8. He had never acted before.

  • Watched this film for the first time last night and was blown away. Great film with a brilliant score.

  • If I could play the violin like it was played at the end of this... The world would be MINE!!!

  • At the last second, you should've put him collapsing. Would've been funny.

  • the kids like 5 and 10x better than me!! and ive been playing for 3 years!! xD

  • @ButtHurtProductions1 lol I bet so had he. What was he? 6 maybe? Haha, gotta love prodigies!

  • omg!!!i want a son like him!!!O_O

  • very nice... thank you for sharing..

  • Hey!

I really want to learn that in my violin so could you please tell me what is the music at 04:50.

If you have sheet music would you send me? Thank you soo much!

  • @LumiereLucy It is in the Red Violin Carprices 2nd piece. Costs about 10-15 bucks. SW strings maybe?

  • "You must have a strong heart to play violin."

  • 2:25 y's there an f# on a violin ??

  • @gokuryam as the years go by, the frequency of pitch gets higher and higher. Around the baroque area, the pitches were about a half a step lower than today's standard, so what kaspar played was actually an open G at that particular scene

  • Ah, I want to know the piece that Kaspar plays for the french man (1:40). it would be an awesome audition piece for any reputable orchestra.

  • @Sortudinho - I know that Amazon is selling the sheet music from the movie. Just do a search on "The Red Violin Caprices" and hopefully that piece is included. Read the review on it though. If so, good luck to you!

  • @Sortudinho I Thought it was a Piece by Bach? Maxim Vengarov Performs it unless I am mistaken! you can find the video on youtube !

  • @ILikeToShred Wow, really? If you have the title or link to the video I would love to see it. Also the name of the Bach piece would be awesome if you have any idea. Thanks!

  • @Sortudinho Ah I was mistaken, Sorry! It's an Original soundtrack! But, I Think you will love the Bach Piece as it's very similar! so check it out! /watch?v=0DRdxT7XE1E

  • @Sortudinho French?

  • incredible!

like over 200bpm playing speed lol

  • he should have played "Thunderstruck" lol

  • WIsh the kid was really playing this song. But they actually hired a profesional violinist to play all the songs in this movie. Whether it's this song, or pope's concert, or the gypsey scene...everything was played by that one profesional.

  • @kelric6 Creo que fue encomendado a Joshua Bell.

  • @jeifares O hyea, your right;p I couldn't remember his name for some reason but...yea, it was him. Thanks;p

    Muchas Gracias:)

  • @kelric6 joshua bell?

  • @TempoFurioso Yea, thank you;p

  • This kid is a complete genius

  • There is no way that kid is faking.

  • can i have a child like this?!?!?!?!O_O

  • My heart almost jumped out of my throat when I was JUST watching him playing ti faster and faster!! What a movie!! The kid is amazing! As Joshua Bell of course.

  • i would die if i had to wear clothes like that they look SO uncomfy! i feel so bad for them! T^T but they're really really good better than my orchestra class and we're playing the expert stuff the 2nd violins are bad though the rest of us are pretty good!

  • what is that song they play together?

  • Wonderful. Amabile. Sublime. Unique. Levitation of my deep soul, mind and heart. Thanks Kaspar Weis.

From Portugal. We love you, forever.

  • Oh crap. This is my brother's account! He's gonna kill me...

  • i have this movie and everytime i watch the scene of Kaspar's audition, the waterworks involuntarily start...

  • @cragman13 where did you buy this i love this movie

  • which piece is that first?

  • @noonescrying ye i have the soundtrack for it on cd and its called the monastery, but ye.. is there a actual name for it or is that the actual name? i want to learn the solo part played by kasper weiss

  • @redviolin1231 Yeah that's the name. All the music in the movie was original and written for Joshua Bell. Most of the time its him playing. That kid is good too. They sell the sheet music for the red violin. There are two books though one is for solo violin.

  • what is the proper song of this song? the one played by the whole group of orphans?

  • Christoph Koncz is pretty awesome in this movie...

  • lmao childs hands are MASSIVE

  • Whats that piece's name?

  • thats the Red violin, first variation.

  • This concludes that Joshua Bell plays faster than David Garret :D

  • lol everytime the child plays it looks like he's going to pass out afterwards

  • He has a weak heart....

  • No, it isn't Kaspar playing, it's a vidio edie and his hands are the hands of Joshua Bell, who is an AMAZING violinist. Just to answer alex95187and correct bandgeekasaurus.

  • ¿sabeis como se llama la ulima cancion?

    :) gracias

  • Thanks.

  • this song is called The Monastery =).. is from the movie The Red Violin... is one of my favorites from this movie=)...the bad thing is that during the movie this music goes over and over and over again so gets a lil' tired! but is cool=)...

  • What's the name of the piece at the beginnging?

  • Kaspar Weiss, EN LA BANDA SONORA LO PODES ENCONTRAR

  • wow he played fast as hell at the end!! i wonder if that was really him playing

  • i think they sped up the scene

  • if you look at the kids reflection he blinks instantly and head moves like a bur, so you must be right

  • alguien sabe cómo se llama ese concierto?

  • as always practice makes perfect
