  • Hard rock at its best !

Thx for upload!

  • I was at this concert !!!! Peter Frampton, Dave Mason, Gary Wright, & Feetwood Mac. Day on the green Oakland Calif. 1976 What a day it was.

  • I saw him in concert at one of Bill Graham's Day On The Green concerts. Also playing that day were Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller, Gary Wright, and Carlos Santana. WOW, what a concert that was. This around 75 or 76. Too long ago to remember for sure.

  • TALKBOX!!!!!!

  • Absolutely epic. Nothing live comes close to this. Just flat out energy and vibe. I don't impress easy and this impresses the hell out of me.

  • Hard Rock is the ultimate !

  • The greatest live song ever. I'm in my mid 50's and still get pumped up every time I hear this song. Frampton rules!!!!

  • Nice truncated arrangement (as compared to the famous 14-minute epic version found on FCA album).

  • God this brings back so many memories.

  • Hot Blonde 2:14

  • @dockie1964 Hot blond in white, playing black guitar....*sigh*.....

  • @Framptonfixation Lol..you got me there!!

  • Great Memories! I attended this concert back in 1976!!! Day On The Green with Peter Frampton! Good Times!!!

  • Love, P. Frampton and his big guitar playing hands! A fine whine (wine)

  • @SurvivingSTL How can one know what they like and dislike without first experiencing it? Also, it seems as though he took off all of the comments that couldn't be disabled.

  • @austinhimes14 Way to thrive off of a dead argument and fuel cyber-drama. The ONE comment at the end of the video is gone, bro. It's been gone for forever and a day. I believe in diplomacy, the people were heard. Get a fucking life. lol

  • Comment removed

  • Frampton Comes alive......it was hot then and still is today. so glad I was part of that time!!

  • Fuck he is tearing it up at the end there!!! And Stan Sheldon is laying down some very funkin jiving bass lines!!

  • Thanks for the post - great show and tour. But, it's not in SF, this concert was filmed at ASU's Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ. It was way back before all the expansions were done. The old scoreboard seen at was there forever, thru most of the expansions.

  • When I saw this He was with Black Sabbath and He Smoked Them It was Awesome and No one new who he was! about a year later he became Big!

  • When I saw this He was with Black Sabbath and He Smoked THem It was Awsoome

  • talkbox ftw

  • talkbox ftw

  • ive watched this video for years and the woman at 2.17. i think i love her

  • Man! I was only 6 when this was done, but Peter is absolutely in my top 5 Guitar influences and as a songwriter as well. This particular video is especially sentimental for me since I grew up in the Bay Area :) As for all the assholes in youtubeland compaining about some harmless comments in the middle of the video, SHUT UP!!! You should be grateful to neoshalin for bringing this to youtube as this 70's footage of Peter is still quite rare. Grow the F*** up already!

  • I jizzed in my pants

  • do you feel like we do?

  • Man Im just in awe. Just all the notes coming out of that guitar is from heaven. That Frampton guitar tone is a big mystery. Also Peter is one of the greatest guitarists. Jimmy Page is a bit overrated.

  • I was there!! It was Awesome...British invasion tour, Gary Wright (Dream Weaver)Fleetwood Mac, Frampton. 55,000 screaming, blitzed fans. Thanks for the memory!

  • There's hope. A lot of kids are getting turned onto this stuff from Guitar Hero and Rock Band. I'm a music teacher and it's so awesome that my students want to learn songs like this.

  • He stole everything from Steve Marriott. He wouldn't be anything without Marriott. You're posers if you think different

  • @konawilson6872 and he wouldnt be anything without chuck berry or little richard.

  • AMAZING!!

  • It should be labeled "Oakland". I attended this concert 33 years ago. Thanks

  • @amesloberg it was rocken concert i lived back then in San Rafael

  • this is a great old song, looks like a great concert in san fran, but like many people i only no 2 frampton songs. i once heard the stones were considering him, but ron wood joined, good choice.

  • My mom and dad were both there! They didn't even know eachother back then, or know that they were both there till we heard this on the radio

  • HOLY SHIT! Stanley Sheldon was and still is so fuckin gorgeous! Peter is nothing compared to him!!!! And fuck everybody else who won't agree!

  • @twiggysangelfromhell HAHA!! I've always been curious to see Stan playing back then, and now I guess I have! I LOVE Stan!

  • @LexeconKiddo : Me too!!!

  • I would have LOVED to be part of that crowd, they're all in the moment and loving it so much.

  • 19 retarded ppl

  • what is that called that he puts in his mouth to alter his voice I thinks it's groovy:) Always will and always haved love Peter's music:)

  • @67mommabear talkbox

  • thats fckn brilliant

  • Of all lead guitar sounds i like Framptons sound THE BEST. It screams rock and roll. I just love that waverly, chorusy treble sound he gets. It is so unique to him i could pick it out anywhere.

  • Saw him Tuesday August 3,2010 in Charleston SC and he was smoking' He was Incredible, better with age. I flew down from the North East just to see him and it was freaking awesome! Go if you have the opportunity, worth every second!

  • @neoshaolin1 you must not act as a little kid saying u put that shit right in the middle of the video just cause its urs..thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard. And something else stubborness has no limits yet its hand to hand with stupidity

  • Way to f up a perfectly good video...

  • was there a coment? missed it what was it a nobody I guess!

  • that was his classic band!

  • Hey! He didn't say 'Bob Mayonaise on the keyboards halfway' through!

  • I got laid to this song in the mid 70's...YAY

  • "Hey that guys guitar is talking"

    "My shoes are talking"

"Don't worry we wont hurt you, We just want to party"

  • rampton is brillaint evryone shold have a copy of frampton live

  • good old time

  • Dude just sit back...smoke a doob...and let the talk box take your mind away...hahahahah

  • Unless you filmed this in '76 with a steady cam and 4 other cameras helping you...this is not your video. do us all a favor and remove the childish comments from the screen...

  • @songwriter61 @neoshaolin1 Good point. :^D It's sort of counterproductive, too. If it annoys so many people to the point of commenting, why would they go to your other videos, where they can reasonably expect more watermark-type overlays that annoy them. It's always good to listen to what your audience tells you.

  • @StefanGBucher There, is that better?

  • @neoshaolin1 Yes, let the hate flow through you! Your journey to the Dark Side is almost complete. (Hey man... it's your account and you can do what you like. Sorry about all the negative energy.)

  • @neoshaolin1 Hey, just saw your note on my profile. I see your point of view. Sorry people have been giving you so much crap about this. I was happy that you uploaded this, and if I hadn't poked around the comments, I'd not have even noticed the text on the video. I apologize for piling on. YouTube can get weirdly rough, and I don't want to contribute to that. Don't let the bastards get you down. :^)

  • @neoshaolin1 Omg!! I haven't been part of this argument over your other comment on the middle of the song ( can't say it upset me personally, it was only on there for a couple of seconds), but I'm going to wade in now and ask respectfully can you please please PLEASE take the comment off the END of the vid..... PLEASE?? Your version of this vid is the only one I've found that has Peter's bow at the end and now I can't see him - omg I'm gutted! :((

  • @Framptonfixation I will bow for you Baby!! Who needs Peter

  • @roquefortfiles Aww babe!XXX

  • I LIVED THIS...you had to be there to TRULY appreciate Frampton and his music...and BOY was I there! ! ! \m/o_o\m/

  • It's a shame that Frampton was "branded" as some pop personality, when in fact he was a serious guitarist, songwriter and performer.

  • @ytuseruber

Anyone who knows anything about guitar playing KNOWS that was never the case. That was all media and branding and bullshit. Bad decisions for sure but he has and will always have the chops.

  • I've posted so many hard core bands. But I was front row center with Terry Hammond in 1976. I saw Peter Frampton 30 years later in 06 and waited for an autograph like he said he would give me. He never got off his bus. I still had the double live vinyl for an autograph. Thanks Peter.

  • thanks for sharing the video!! I was at this concert, what a great entertainer :))

  • I agree with akh. Great video. Please don't spoil it!

  • una masaa

  • Is that a Leslie or Flange and Chorus used during the majority of the solo?

  • NOW THIS WAS THE SHIT BACK N THE DAY....

  • Fantastic, one of my favorites.

  • you should take that damned comment off of the middle of your video. put it in the info section, dumbass. don't ruin the video.

  • @neoshaolin1 it did completely ruin the video though, i stopped watching when it came on.

  • @neoshaolin1...that is totally acceptable, but may I ask why? And please don't say "because it's my video" or "because i wanted to".

why is it there? I still enjoyed the video but I'm very curious about why.

    peace and pot~!

  • @ontariobuds That's not the comment that was originally there. The original one was short and breif simply saying people should check out some of my other vids since this one get's like a billion views, and that I'd appreciate it if they did. This one is the result of people calling me an "asshole" and various other profanities for putting it up. I'm seriously considering just taking this video down.

  • @neoshaolin1 Or you could just suck it up and not let ppl bug you when they cann you an asshole.

I HOWEVER will go check o ut your other videos.

    Cheers brother!

  • @neoshaolin1 you should be ashamed of your video...... It sucks and your comment is very rude...........

  • @akh102692 you can turn of the annotations in the bottom right corner of the video player

  • @akh102692

Dumbass Yourself!!! He can't ruin the video... When you here this song, you have to close the eyes to feel like they do! :oP

  • "WAY--OOOOO !!"--the end of the talkbox solo!

  • Downright awesome.

  • This is the culmination of a generation, an anthem, the pinnacle, the sum and substance

  • If this had the full talkbox solo and all the leads i do say i think i would like this better than what is on Frampton Comes Alive. This SSmmmmokes!!

  • frampton is dirtyyy!

  • lol no one understands your use of the word dirty, you have so many thumbs down cause people thought u assiociated it with negative conotations, although quite the opposite. FRAMPTON IS GREEAZY

  • I can only smile. This was my life, afterall.

  • Day On The Green # 1 & 2: Peter Frampton, Fleetwood Mac, Gary Wright, Status Quo (4/25 only), UFO (5/1 only) (April 25, 1976 / May 1, 1976)

Called "The British Are Back" show.

  • Day On The Green was the name of a concert series in Oakland, California, presented by promoter Bill Graham and his company Bill Graham Presents. Held at the Oakland Coliseum Stadium, these events began in 1973 and continued into the early 1990s.

  • Peter Frampton and Joe Walsh, as good as it get's on voice box guitar, IMO.

  • the end of this song is so killer

  • Hey i'm nine and I like this music nobody would ever think of that would they?

  • @4455Rocker

rock on lil kid you got good taste

  • @4455Rocker

Hey, I was 10 when I heard Frampton for the first time, because one of my teenage cousins liked it. I recognized his guitar playing as something pretty amazing at the time. This band was tight, and I understood at the time that the live stuff was live, and I had a clue of what that meant. I'm still pretty amazed by it, but I can't say it was underrated at the time -- after all, this is pretty much _the_ mainstream act of '76.

  • @4455Rocker I saw some of you yesterday ... Peter gave a concert in good ol´ Germany, Rocker :-)

  • My first big concert when I was 13!

It was at the coliseum in Oakland actually, with UFO,

    Gary Wright and Fleetwood Mac.

Actually Status Quo instead of UFO on the weekend before.

    Great to know this exists!

  • This reminds me of how great this music was - and for goodness sake Frampton wrote this. Is that crazy, or what? I mean who is writing and executing in their performance anything that even approaches this these days? He is one great guitar player, throwing in jazz lines.

  • The version on GH5 is 14 minutes long :S

  • seeing this live would be legit.

  • Wooo! 14 years old and saw them in Detroit..

    Peter Frampton IS THE BEST!!

  • lol mentioning that ur 14 was pretty random :P

  • Well, people below said that young people do not have alot of taste in music...

  • hmmm, I never noticed that, I'm 14 and I like this music too, and so do all of my peer friends

  • thats cool :D

  • 1 star for shameless self advert

  • lol!!!!

  • exactly. get that shit off the screen. i know what videos you have...how do you think i got here? 1 star.

  • I'm glad your grateful that the guy went through the trouble of posting this video you self-righteous prick.

  • Fantastic video! Smell like a Comes Alive!! But it´s a shame they cut the song more than a half of the total time....

  • 100th rating! yea! sub to e and ill do the same and add as a friend

  • What happened to the free let it all go concerts?!?!?!?!?

  • He was great at Loolapalooza with the Smashing Pumkins. Shame about Pink Floyd's pig though. Anyone know what ever happened to that Cannonball Guy in the festival of the trans mundane??

  • lol, is it the Simpsons?

  • im 13 and im going to c him in detroit its gonna rock

  • wow, and people say young people don't know about music, I envy you, hope you enjoy the show, you have great taste.

  • Hey hey, all you good people watching this video! Yes, you! Go check out some of my other vids of me playing guitar! I would appreciate it. Comments on the others aren't a sin either.

  • Best album for straining seeds. Music takes your mind back in time, and this one takes me back to 19 years old and the best times of my life.

  • Yay frampton!

  • what memories!!! S.F. i was soooooo there one of those lost weekends lol

  • This is my all-time favorite guitar solo, but where are the other 9 or 10 minutes of this song? Love it just the same! I saw him live in Chicago at the Super Bowl of Rock in August of 1977 at Soldier Field, and was so close I threw a hat to Frampton as he came on stage as the headliner and he caught it and wore it for the first song! (I had ripped the hat off the girl next to me and she didn't mind at all!)

P.S. I wish I could say I married that girl and raised a family with her, but alas...

  • that's an awesome attempt

  • @rdtg: Really? That's awesome!

  • Look at all those hairy dudes. No woman in their right mind would want that now! But, what music! Yeah! It's sad that this was his biggest album and he couldn't surpass or at least follow it up. This was a hard act to follow. Awesome!

  • GH5

  • Oh that wavery trebley Frampton Les Paul sound!!!. It is so unique and identifiable. My favorite rock sound bar none. Slash and all the rest of them should bow to this guy.

  • Remember guitar solos? Fantastic player.

  • This is "come on in the car, let's drive around, party and listen to the eight track" kind of song. I remember it fondly from my teen years in the 70's!

  • it is our folly to us ....peter tkx neoshaolin1

  • My favorite guitar jam song of the 70's.

  • It does not get much more classic than this black beauty Les Paul three pick up and this song.

  • Holy crap three pages of comments. Now if I could only get some traffic on the actual videos of ME! >XP

  • this video was recorded way before i was born but holy crap them 70's women are hooot

  • you sick, sick man.......

  • i know

  • i think he played a hella of a show in austin in the late 70s

  • 23Mar1975, Winterland, when LIVE was recorded...18 yrs old and GREAT show!!!
