The US Gladiators is treated more like a sporting event, the British version is treated more as a "show" and in my view the latter version is better.

He's 74 and still going strong, no joke! Coaches a load of decathletes (and me, for 800m) at Corby, Nottinghamshire, he coached Dave Moorcroft to long distance world records and olympic medals! He's a legend on and off the TV set!

this is the best sports show of the 90s
