This is a great video. It's very well pieced together... Even though he was a total a**, I kind of felt sorry for the character Alec. He went through his whole life never knowing true love, even from his own mother & it drove him to be angry & selfish. He was a tragic character, really. One loves to hate him, sure, but I felt sympathy for him, because he was such a tragic character... Hans played him so well by relaying that pain that I know was ingrained into that character. Awesome vid!
@PixieGiggles33, this was the only time I liked and felt sympathy for Alec, Hans played his vulnerability so well - yes, the character is tragic and doomed, like Tess. I really wanted Tess and Alec together in this version because Gemma and Hans worked so great together. Alec was never really shown love, so he didn't really know how to love except the way he was taught - he loved Tess in his own way but he caused her so much pain. Glad you enjoyed!
I actually read this book for a class last year and this gives me a taste of a movie version of it. Nice choice of soundtrack there, I got a feeling of an ill-fated person's attempt to come to grips with what they had done and how they must pay for the rest of their lives.
The mistakes that we make only have the power to do crush us when we let them.
What a feeling of pathos in this video! Very well done, my darling! Very well done! ;)
Thanks Anthony!! I hope you'll like my upcoming video (not sure when I'll be done with it, probably within the next month) from the 1998 version of "Tess Of The D'Ubervilles" - about the relationship between Tess and Angel - beautiful but tragic. Thanks again for your insightful comment, glad you enjoyed!
Wow, that was quick! You're here and you're responding! I always knew that if I searched hard enough I would find a REAL artist on YT. I get a glimmer of some sort when you put things up and respond to my comments. I guess kindred spirits have a way of doing that to me. So...I'll be around and if you want to stay in touch in other ways, send me a personal message; if not, I'll understand if you don't. Take care, Colleen. ;)

It was directed by David Blair, produced by the BBC. Also check out the 1998 A&E version directed by Ian Sharp. Both are great!
