Thank you for posting these! The great voyager documentaries used to be on youtube, but they were gone right after I found them. They were the only vids that had the great footage of the planets and such, and I've been looking for them since. THANK YOU
I don't care what the scientist say . Think about it . look at the size of jupiter from voyager when it was a massive 50 millon miles . The great red spot is not three times the size of earth , rather twelve times the size of earth .
Just imagining myself waking up alone in some spaceship; in a room with a window that has a clear view on Jupiter scares the crap outta me. I'd get a freaking heart attack xD
Does anyone else think about how destroyed our bodys would be from being on the surface of jupiter for even 10 seconds, we would die from the poisonous atmosphere but not before we were crushed by the intense gravity.
@QBisbest to be honest, its actually just a failed star, given time, i think juipiter could become a small star... then again, it really is very tiny so its gravity probably isn't enough
I think that jupiter is a planet that was like ours, but got something like global warming then gas took over the core eventually eating life and landscape itself, then over millions of years it devolves up to a gas planet....probably a match would make it a sun
Maybe it's time to start reading textbooks and lay off the anime and comic books. Maybe take some courses in physics, chemistry, and astronomy for starters. Geology and biology would be good, too.
I WAS being a bit insulting, and for that I apologise. However, if you were serious in your proposed scenario, a general study of those disciplines will show how unlikely it is. They will give you a much more accurate and comprehensive paradigm for the study and appreciation of Jupiter and other celestial objects and phenomena.
@savemgs Lol. My daughter likes that stuff. For me, I didn't think anything could get worse than the animation of the old Hanna Barbera cartoons, little did I know. I prefer those old kung-fu movies dubbed by British voice actors. :)
i think that could apply to many of our planets, it is a belief in the figment of our imagination, there is no clear proof. I believe Earth is the same as all the others, and i think the meaning for us to live is to test if we have the capability to, we are the only planet with actual life, if we do not change ourselves we cannot change our planet, i believe all other planets went through a similar process, but failure is what turned them into dead planets
métalic liquid, it's just a state of the liquid. doesn't mean that it is Iron... it's just the fact that at this pressure the helium can conduct electricity.
The sun is pure heat and gas, we could never survive in it no matter, so there is no point in being scared of the sun, if you approached it you would inevitably die anyways. But Jupiter's atmosphere is so dynamic for a PLANET, not a star.
I see, maybe Jupiter might grow into a brown dwarf one day (I know how impossible this is) and rise from the ashes (as our sun dies off and Jupiter or Saturn continues the solar system). The moons of these star-wannabe planets weren't created for no reason right? Europa and Titan might one day become like Earth as Jupiter might become like the Sun...
has anyone ever landed on jupiter?
