Hey Dice, I've been reading a little of the back and forth between you and the other guy. He's blasting you for being irresponsible, but he has a drunk chick driving on his page along with burnout, cars going fast. And he's from Canada. Can you imagine being Canadian.
YOU SERIOUSLY REQUIRE JAIL TIME !!! lucky thing for you that nobody was hit or killed by your dangerous driving in this vid -I've also flagged this for youtube and hope they pull it down!!
first of all... this was a permited shoot with closed streets, two assistant directors 4 police officers and $2.5M in liability insurance...not to mention that the person driving is a stunt man with more than 20 years in the biz and a 40 man crew supporting the stunts.... We are from Los Angeles.. we are real filmmakers.
If SAG and the EIDC not to mention the Teamsters and the city of Los Angeles didn't have a problem with the precautions we took...why do you? SHUT YOUR FACE!
it is simple logic guy! any kid meaning teenager getting a "simple idea" as to what "you" show on here in your beloved little irresponsable "vid" might take it a step too far and act out what you have apperently "taught him/her" what looks "cool" take a look around you guy, your not being societys idea of a good rolemodel!! oh and by the way I work in Law Enforcement and have shwown your vid to several police agencies in my area " keep it on the racetrack " other then that your driving style A++
So let me see if I understand you, a short film that spends 2 years in pre-production, was supported by a competent crew, has $2.5M of liability insurance, was performed on a closed course and sanctioned by all the requisite unions...is irresponsible because it looks good? But when you see the same shit in a $50M+ feature film distributed in 3K+ theaters in your neighborhood that's just good clean fun? This is your standard for attacking my work?
...among the vast amounts or reckless behavior, racist imagery, sexist comments and homophobic references you choose to complain that I am a bad role model because my and my DP (mad props to Det. Budd)shoot well? Are you fucking serious?
#2 Crazy people don't need crazy images to do crazy things. GTA sold $400M worth of software in the first week... did we see hundreds of thousands of "kids" acting out the game narrative? No we did not. I am a critical theoretician motherfucker! ...if you want to attempt to debate the effects of imagery - violent or otherwise- with me... go right ahead. It's your funeral. I've got more references than you have sperm cells.
You work for law enforcement? And let me guess, you were a C- student and have rarely gotten fucked in your life...christ! I could write a 1K pages of copy about you just based on that statement alone!
..and what did you tell the authorites? that I spent my own money and my investors money insuring that I conducted my stunts in a safe and professional manner and as a result people like my work? Are they going to arrest me? Are you for real?
Listen jimP71 I'd love to sit here and pistol whip you all day...but I have a life, and a girlfriend and a job. Thank you for the flame and the bump in traffic but you should really stick to topics you are familiar with like...loneliness, celibacy, fatty foods, Kevin Smith movies and how to blow a $200 pay check in 15 min's in a titty bar. You are about as much fun as the DMV...do me a favor and go play in traffic.
uh.. it's a film about two guys working on a car... so yes, it looks like a car that needs work. That's the point! Hey.. put down the bong before making a stupid comment.
here's something else to chew on...if the car was totally cherry it really wouldn't be that believable...did school just get out or are you just naturally slow???
it's pretty rare to used a continious sequence in an action sequence... I just use about 12-20 frames at a time... so the worse the car handles.. the more cinematic the shot is...
It's not supposed to be a "traditional" trailer. It's supposed to get you excited about watching a Z car. Smooth turns and slides don't look good on film. We purposely oversteered and such so that the wheels would spin and the Z would slide.
I have the DVD and have watched it ,although I was kind of lost towards the end everything up to it was bad ass.

okay...so is this a Z add? Or a stunt driver school commercial? It sure as hell doesn't look like a movie trailer to me.
