I can't see entities in game, like doors and stairs but I can see weapons and stuff. I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650.

@Orhan4112 restarted comp and steam, set graphics to medium, then high again and it worked! :D

hey man i have this problem too but in the demo i don't have this problem but when i try to put the shader to high it has silver gun and it crashes

@TheWakakaka u still have this problem does the game lagg sometimes if u play the games if yes i know ur reason

the graphics card u have doesnt support shader detail 3.0 or 4.0

thats why i get my graphics card Ati Radeon HD 5450 and now i can run this game Maxed out and have no problems with the game u probably should get another graphics card too like mine or some of the GTX series :)

@Orhan4112 nah my video card is GeForce 8500 GT and it works fine in the demo no silver paint when shaders are high and no crashes but in the full game i have this problem and it crashes

i Already solved the problem i have an HD 5450 now and i can Play L4D2 On High Settings maxed out :P

don't worry, ellis just thought the the weapons would be stronger if he dipped them in silver paint.

have you tried updating your graphics card software?

or reinstalling the game :|

I got the same problem but not all guns.

It is a problem with your graphics card.

It cannot support shader detail.

@darkmario2007 what do you reccomend if you want very high shaders? u cant run them without serious lag so is theyre anything i could tone down?

@grekor84 Well I use XFX Nvidia Ggeforce GTS250 1gb

And it runs real smooth on max settings. You can just search "L4D2 Max Settings" on Youtube.

Try to find a cheap but powerful one.

@darkmario2007 no its just i dont have a s*** load of money to get oversized pc parts... and i tried shaders on very high for a test and they dont change a fuckin thing! no matter what i change the shoty/magnum wont turn shiny chrome and everything else looks like its coverd in butter and the axe and crowbar look like they had the paint torn off on some spots.

@darkmario2007 dude, not to bother but, i have the same problem of this guy, but my video card suports the shaders. It's the geforce 8400GS. It suports shaders 4.0 and I'm experiencing this same problem on high and very high shaders quality. I tried to reinstall the game too. Do you know what's going on?

@darkmario2007 Core2Duo 2.93Ghz. I've tested L4D2 in my previous setup that was a Pentium D 2.8Ghz and all it worked fine, it was a torrent version, not original (to test before buying it), the when I bought the original on Steam, I can't get shaders on high and very high. Running on 3GB RAM. Drivers updated, and directx too. Windows 7 64 bit DX11, tested the 197 drivers of nvidia and the newest one. No result. Same issue. The problem souldn't be anything related to my hardware, it's all new.
