This is a very offensive and not remotely funny video. Seriously, you don't have agree with the guy, but making fun of someone about a heartfelt and widely accepted belief is just ridiculous. Simply put this video lacks decorum and class, and I would have expected better.
@pressonc Except of course if this widely held belief actually influences people to create legislation that infringes on the rights of others. It is also harmful to believe in things that are delusional. It can be devisive and dangerous. It is also the No 1 reason that human beings have waged war for centuries. Are those good enough reasons for you?
@ingodidoubt There is no evidence to support your assertions. Legal scholars differ on which rights are granted by the government and which are innately possessed by every human being making your claim that rights are infringed upon due to religious beliefs impossibleto state with any certainty. A claim that this religious belief is delusional simply shows your lack of study and understanding of religion; and stating that Christianity is the prime impetus for war is simply erroneous.
@pressonc Do you have any evidence to support your belief apart from personal experience. If god exists may he strike me dead. Even if I were struck by lightning, it still wouldn't prove god did it. You have to show that there was indeed a creator or some "entity" that created everything. I make no assertions. YOU DO! YOU are the one asserting there is a god with no evidence. What... is .... your .... evidence... let's have it!!
@pressonc It doesn't matter what legal scholars think. Its the people of a given culture who decide what is moral. The government simply enforces those laws. And I was not saying my rights are infringed upon, but certain portions of the population are. Pregnant women who want an abortion or homosexuals. Do you not agree?
@ingodidoubt No, I do not agree. You are presuming that portions of the population possess "rights" that are not rights at all. The liberties granted by our government are limited to those things that do not infringe upon the inalienable rights of any other person. Attempting to couch someone's selfish desires as rights does not change the fact that there is no logical, moral, or legal rationale for giving those activities protection under the Constitution. (cont)
@pressonc So, now you are trying to say that you have a morally superior position. If your god asked you to torture your child, would you do it? And don't say "god wouldn't do that" because your holy book states that god will send those to hell who do not accept Jesus. So, would you do it?
@ingodidoubt No, I do not agree. You are presuming that portions of the population possess "rights" that are not rights at all. The liberties granted by our government are limited to those things that do not infringe upon the inalienable rights of any other person. Attempting to couch someone's selfish desires as rights does not change the fact that there is no logical, moral, or legal rationale for giving those activities protection under the Constitution. (cont)
@ingodidoubt (cont) Additionally, a claim that a person's personal religious belief is responsible for any such alleged infringement cannot be supported by the evidence. The duty and function of government is to legislate according to a coherent ethical code and moral framework and enforce that legislation in order to protect the population. In recent decades, the government has been particularly (and probably excessively) fastidious in its reluctance to allow any religious influence.
@ingodidoubt I am not a supporter of any political party. I vote based upon the ideology and qualifications of individual candidates. I have been known to support both Democratic and Republican as well as Libertarian, Independent, and Constitutionalist candidates. I am strongly anti-abortion. You've been claiming that religious individuals infringe on the rights of others. What about the most basic right? The right to live. What gives someone the right to kill their child?
@ingodidoubt You are trying to divert attention away from the true issue. This issue has nothing to do with the rights of the mother; no person has the right ro murder their child. This issue deals solely with the rights of an innocent child that is danger of being killed simply because he/she is unwanted by the very person who is responsible for his/her existence in the first place. There are no excuses for someone aborting a child short of rape or incest. Those are a bit more complicated.
@pressonc I don't agree with abortion, but the whole point of this argument is that we, you and I, do not have the right to tell another person what to do with their reproductive rights. Have you actually studied the reasons why women feel that they may need to abort the child? Is it possible that there may be valid reasons for this? Before making a decision, why not research both sides of this topic before coming to a conclusion?
@pressonc Although I do think abortion should be avoided, there are circumstances where an abortion may be necessary for the physical and/or mental health of the mother. So who should suffer, the fetus or the mother?
@ingodidoubt Aside from cases of rape, the fact that there is a pregnancy at all is, at least to some degree, the fault of the mother. In any situation where there is any chance whatsoever of live and viable birth of the child, abortion for the sake of the mother is not a defensible position. Situations involving rape are exceedingly rare, but it is conceptually possible that a slightly altered standard in those cases may be justifiable.
@ingodidoubt I have researched the topic very extensively. I have written a number of articles and papers on the subject. And I am saying that short of rape or the certain death of the mother where the child is very unlikely to survive as well there is absolutely no possibility that an abortion can be justified. The simple fact of the matter is that an abortion is an activity wherein the statement is made that the comfort or convenience of one person is more important than the life of another.
@ingodidoubt It's the responsibility of every conscientious American to judge the morality of the actions of their government, their governmental servants, their neighbors, and, most of all, themselves and vote accordingly. We are all in a position to judge; moreover, it is our responsibility to judge. The greatest enemy of liberty is apathy. The idea that a person's actions are their business alone must be tempered by the understanding that our liberties are dependent upon others.
@ingodidoubt No, it doesn't say not to judge. The verse to which you are referring says not to judge if you wish not to be judged. The verses following that verse state that in order to judge right and wrong in a particular matter you should be innocent of the wrong with which you would be dealing. The idea that one should not judge the actions of others is a functional impossibility. Additionally, no moral code can function without a standard of right and wrong.
@pressonc God is irrelevant when it comes to morality. There are two possible scenarios. 1) Is something right or wrong without god? 2) Or is something right or wrong because god says so? If morality exists without gods judgment, then god is useless. If something is deemed morally right or wrong because god says so, then god is a fascist dictator.
@pressonc In one case, god is the dictator who gets to burn your ass just because he feels like it. In the other god is irrelevant. What makes god's morality any "better" than yours or mine? It's still subjective no matter how much you try to peel the onion!
Respond to this video... And you are also cherry picking the verse to mean what you want it to. I could just as easily take it another way. That's why there are so many churches who have different interpretations of the same holy book. The Bible IS subjective. And morality IS subjective... always!!!
@pressonc Also, I don't give a damn what your bible says. It is an immoral book which even if it were true, I would reject. You have to demonstrate in some way with actual evidence, that it its true. I care about what is true. Can you provide some evidence that we can all examine out in the open, apart from personal experience, which is pretty flaky.
@ingodidoubt I find it very interesting that when you are confronted with facts that you can't refute you take to insulting someone that has, thus far, been nothing but civil in the conversation. Where does this pent up anger come from? Is there a guilty conscience behind it or are you simply an irascible person? The fact of the matter is that you are presuming to tell me what my religious beliefs are or should be without having any knowledge whatsoever on the subject.
@ingodidoubt It is evident from your bombastic tirade of insults that you simply refuse to give up your preconceptions and approach the subjects we have been discussiing with an open mind. You want to live your life without any semblance of authority that can tell you what is right and wrong; so you balk angainst the idea that there is any being in existence that can tell you that what you are doing is wrong. The truth is that there are absolutes and you refuse to accept them.
@ingodidoubt Additionally, you intentionally presented me with several false dichotomies and attempted to force me to answer inconsistently with everything that we have stated thus far. You cannot order someone to answer a question based upon a false premise. When you attempt to argue theological positions about which you have not studied, you simply make it obvious that you are reacting emotively not logically. Logical fallacies have become your only weapon.
@ingodidoubt You have done very little in your last posts other than set up straw men at which you fired ridiculously overbroad accusations, commit ad hominem attacks, and make unsubstantiated claims on such a grandiose scale that no respectable scholar in the world would support you for even the briefest period of time without ruining their reputation and carreer for decades to come. However, I will address some of your less bombastic queries.
@ingodidoubt First of all, I have a doctorate in law and undergraduate degrees in political and social sciences. I have also had substantial education in biology, mathematics, and physical sciences. This discussion began as a discussion of whether it was a fair and reasonable practice to mock and scorn a person for their beliefs when those beliefs have no detrimental effects on anyone; you then attempted to state that Christianity is responsible for all the evils in history . . .
@ingodidoubt . . . which was unsubstantiated by any facts whatsoever. You then proceeded to use the supposed rights of a woman who wants to abort her unborn child as an example of how Christianity harms others; this was another example of a claim that you have made without providing any facts whatsoever to substantiate your position. You then proceeded to attempt to invalidate my further statements made on the fact, which was an unsuccessful endeavor. . . .
@ingodidoubt Most recently, before your scathing and unwarranted outburst, you called into question my qualifications and credentials to be involved in this conversation. On that topic, I have already mentioned my academic qualifications; the idea that someone of my standing would never be involved in using Youtube is, quite simply, obsurd. Several of my colleages and many of my former professors post on Youtube on a very regular basis. . . .
@ingodidoubt Now, to address the particular challenge that you placed at my feet, you have claimed that if I had written any academic papers on the subject of abortion I would've made them available to you. You seem to be laboring under the impression that I was claiming to have published these papers in some manner that would allow an online investigation. I never made such a claim. Aside from a few brief editorial remarks in minor publications I have not yet . . .
@pressonc . . . published any of my work on this subject, though I have published minor papers on unrelated subjects in academic journals. I regret that you cannot reference my collected works in this discussion; however, if you would like a copy of one of them, I would be happy to mail a hard capy to you for your personal library. I do not provide digital copies of my work due to a imminent danger of fraud and misrepresentation. That said, what credentials do you boast?
@pressonc Can you show me some of the scientific papers you have written on the subject? Do you have a doctorate in science? Do you have a degree in Psychology? You are just a little lying weasel who wants to win an argument by making stuff up!! If you had any real credentials you wouldn't be wasting your time posting messages on Youtube.
Very funny!! I'm an atheist, but I normally don't have anything against religious people. Only the ones who try to implant their beliefs into people's heads, which is exactly what Cameron is.
WHAT THE HECCKKK does anti science or being a fake make kirk cameron who he is now??? HE IS TRYING TO SPREAD HIS LOVE FOR GOD. i dont see how this was making fun of chirstians. im sorry ive been a christian for quite a while now and i can tell you that being a follower of chirst is not a boring thing. its not about reading the word and repeating a prayer.. its about more than that. GOD HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR PEOPLEE!!!
I'm a Christian, but I don't support Kirk Cameron's anti-Science agenda, and I don't like his cheesy logic. I think this parody is hilarious. I am not offended by anyone who makes fun of Christians who say stupid things. Evolution is not a salvation issue. I believe in God. I believe God existed before matter existed. I believe God created matter. But I don't reject the theory of evolution. The Gospel of Peace, the Good News, is not an attack against science. KC is an annoying embarrassment.
It's the lack of intellectualism and willfull ignorance to science and scientific reasoning that pisses me off about kirk. The only way can be a real christian is to give up autonomy, freethought, intellect and scientific reasoning. It's not good to let religious authority to take procedence over science and reasoning!!! Besides Evolution explains biology way better then creationism to deny that would be to deny all scientific advancements from the past centery!!
@speedemon26 you said "most Dr. Coolsex videos feature bananas" and that is an astute observation. This is the first comment in a while that you did not mention someone being gay. I commend your improvement.
"Debating Creationists on the topic of Evolution is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon; it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory." - Scott D. Weitzenhoffer
@gorgeoustxwoman : I love it! Great illustration. (But it is the Evolutionist that is the Pigeon) Evolutionist can never tell me why there is male and female in every kind of species. (Not required according to the origin of species) There is no cross breading between any of the kinds. ie Man and monkey can not reproduce a half man. Even in the lab they cannot do it. a dog and a cat can not mate. This is just one simple area that makes no scientific sense. Thanks for the comment.
However, I doubt this was done simply "in good fun." And reminds me again that tolerance is the ideology that rules the day in our society....EXCEPT when it comes to Christianity. Just pay attention to the pot shots taken at the Church constantly.
I mean, no one makes a YT video making fun of Ghandi or the Dalai Lama. I'm just sayin'...
Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt 7:22:23
I didn't care for your mockery. I pray you see the truth because this video you made will be one of the things that condemns you at judgment day unless you repent and turn to the Jesus you mock. When you mock God's children you are indeed mocking God.
when you claim claim that god will condemn us at judgement day it is indeed claiming that god will condemn jesus and his children on judgement day ,and that is well just not too nice so thank you very much for claiming that i will be condemned on judgement day :)
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. John 3:18
@1metooyou1 "Debating Creationists on the topic of Evolution is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon; it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory." - Scott D. Weitzenhoffer
Are you mocking Christianity? I'm sorry that you are still lost. Try reading the bible for yourself instead of listening to others. Please don't make fun of something until you give it a chance. I know what it feels like to not believe..I've been there. Please give God a chance. Jesus said "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of the world. But if one walks the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."
That obviously was not meant to be taken in a literal sense.
I don't come from a religious family but I gave God a chance 2 years ago when I was at the point of suicide. I figured I had nothing to lose so I gave up and started praying and reading the bible. It was a miracle..
What do you have to lose if God does exist? I'm not trying to convince anyone that he does...it your own choice. Just remember though that you do have the choice to accept God, and at no point will he ever turn you away.
My point was that with the technology we've developed and all the proverbial demons we've crushed with our knowledge, there are still a lot of people that cling to bronze age ritual.
I don't have a problem with deism. I do have a problem with zealous lunatics that deny the science behind the technology they use to spread their poison.
If these wackos were serious about being anti-science, they wouldn't use ANY technology, because all technology is the result of science.
Far out...........there is nothing cool about Christianity. Beneath this attempt at coolness, lurks that uncompromising Christian dogma of ' if you don't accept Jesus into your heart, you're damned to eternal hell'- manipulative or what!!!
@jesusfreak34988 > there appears to be a dichotomy of either you believe in God or you don't. I can tell you I'm neither- I however believe in a Universal intelligence, all knowing and benevolent- and definitely non judgemental. We can utilise this power for our good or to our detriment. The problem with Christians or other 'God'believers are that they depend too much on 'God' being on their side- ie can't take responsibility for themselves.......bunch of pussies
This is a great parody! Whenever a pop culture star finds Jesus and wants to spread the word to all of us "heathens" ... I want to vomit. Well done on this one :)
Greetings fellow nature lovers behold here we have the douchebagus maximus in his natural environment. Notice how he treats his audience as if they have the intelligence of a five year old. Witness the stupidity just dripping off of the specimen. Now remember fellow nature lovers with modern legal system the douchebagus maximus is almost harmless. However if he got his way he would put you all to the torch. Happy Saturnalia Everybody! Zeus bless us everyone!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
omfg...this video kinda saddens me. people seem to think that Christianity is all about going to hell if you sin. well thats not true. God is amazing and i hate that people are constantly assuming that they know everything there is to know about God when they don't....you people are really funny in your videos but sometimes you're fucking stupid.

GOD HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR PEOPLEE!!!
sporadically828 1 year ago
@sporadically828 of corse God has a sense of humor! just look at the world! must say, some of it is... odd, for lack of a better term.

Sounds like you have some serious issues Tov0vot. If you believe in God then you would know that there is no such thing of Evolution.
awbaker8008 1 year ago
I'm a Christian, but I don't support Kirk Cameron's anti-Science agenda, and I don't like his cheesy logic. I think this parody is hilarious. I am not offended by anyone who makes fun of Christians who say stupid things. Evolution is not a salvation issue. I believe in God. I believe God existed before matter existed. I believe God created matter. But I don't reject the theory of evolution. The Gospel of Peace, the Good News, is not an attack against science. KC is an annoying embarrassment.

i may not a christian but i have no problem with people who are, and im no atheist, but when its shoved down my throat, that pisses me off !
im happy that kirk has found god, but shouldn't he respect people who aren't?
isn't it people like him who start wars ??
TessticalsLOVE 1 year ago
@TessticalsLOVE
Besides Evolution explains biology way better then creationism to deny that would be to deny all scientific advancements from the past centery!!
pbrskater26 1 year ago
Atheist and Theist : )
T: Look, mr. Cameron is sitting in his chair backwards, he must be cool. How has science ever been cool?
A: Well science has cured most plagues, put a man on the moon, explained how the universe was made... things like that.
T: Nope, my god did it all. Ha Ha stupid science.
A: Why would you even believe that to begin with?
T: Cause you're going to a lake of fire.
A: What are you even talking about???
T: BURN SINNER BURN ALL CAPS MAKES ME RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A: wtf?

As a Christian....this was def funny.

I didn't care for your mockery. I pray you see the truth because this video you made will be one of the things that condemns you at judgment day unless you repent and turn to the Jesus you mock. When you mock God's children you are indeed mocking God.
1metooyou1 1 year ago
when you claim claim that god will condemn us at judgement day it is indeed claiming that god will condemn jesus and his children on judgement day ,and that is well just not too nice so thank you very much for claiming that i will be condemned on judgement day :)
way to make most christians look like assholes

Are you mocking Christianity? I'm sorry that you are still lost. Try reading the bible for yourself instead of listening to others. Please don't make fun of something until you give it a chance. I know what it feels like to not believe..I've been there. Please give God a chance. Jesus said "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of the world. But if one walks the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."

People have figured out how to move electrons such that we can transfer the chemical energy from a battery into a light bulb, and create light.
Walking at night is no problem when you carry a flashlight.
captainmagic57 2 years ago 2
That obviously was not meant to be taken in a literal sense.
I don't come from a religious family but I gave God a chance 2 years ago when I was at the point of suicide. I figured I had nothing to lose so I gave up and started praying and reading the bible. It was a miracle..
What do you have to lose if God does exist? I'm not trying to convince anyone that he does...it your own choice. Just remember though that you do have the choice to accept God, and at no point will he ever turn you away.
Shelby5891 2 years ago
My point was that with the technology we've developed and all the proverbial demons we've crushed with our knowledge, there are still a lot of people that cling to bronze age ritual.
I don't have a problem with deism. I do have a problem with zealous lunatics that deny the science behind the technology they use to spread their poison.
If these wackos were serious about being anti-science, they wouldn't use ANY technology, because all technology is the result of science.
They're hypocrites.
captainmagic57 2 years ago
Far out...........there is nothing cool about Christianity. Beneath this attempt at coolness, lurks that uncompromising Christian dogma of ' if you don't accept Jesus into your heart, you're damned to eternal hell'- manipulative or what!!!
CHRISTIANITY=CULT

@aeophylus pejoratively refers to a group whose beliefs or practices could be considered strange or sinister , that is NOt being a Christ follower
jesusfreak34988 2 years ago
@jesusfreak34988 > there appears to be a dichotomy of either you believe in God or you don't. I can tell you I'm neither- I however believe in a Universal intelligence, all knowing and benevolent- and definitely non judgemental. We can utilise this power for our good or to our detriment. The problem with Christians or other 'God'believers are that they depend too much on 'God' being on their side- ie can't take responsibility for themselves.......bunch of pussies
