like i know you can get camras with a thing that projects and image on a wall wud a 3D one that could project a game on a desk or somthing, that would be cool. if not. i think that the laptop should be a speaker. like those mini speaks you see advertised that turn any sureface into a speaker, the laptop should do that
I think a Laptop With A 6.2 Surround Sound System with Detachable wireless speakers that charge from the laptop itself via battery pack, or using actual batteries.
it had... -usb sleep and charge -built in TV tuner -integrated webcam my options would be: 1. multi touch scroll pad 2. voice recognition password/login program 3. ergonomic keyboard 4. quick release power cable so the cord doesnt get tripped over 5. lightweight shock proof casing 6. lights behind keys 7. smart pen attachment
i would like to see a built in reanimater, so if you buy something online like games, movies, etc, it will be reanimated on a special RATS Systems ( ReAnimation Transporting System) program, & the 1st key things you mentioned were facial recognition, USB sleeping charge, & hard ware protection
i would want a computer that has a built in reanimater so when you purchase something online like a game, movie, etc it reanimated on the platform which provided with it, so u don't hav to wait for purchase. And it could connect with any game system controllers to play games, And it has a special system that when download & connected(USB) from the computer(already built in)to your playstation or xbox it allows u to ACTUALLY play games with people with opposte systems,
sorry i put more then 50 words i forgot read the 1st time & then my computer froze so i thought it didn't apply & typed something new on accident along the same lines. sorry
Voice activated voice recorder, ie, I'm writing urgent email when I get idea for Great Australian Novel... "Activate voice recorder.. giant croc on rampage... Australia's first female PM just sworn in leads crack team.. turns croc into handbags and stillettoes". Idea recorded before forgotten, with minimal distraction from task.
Get rid of a physical keyboard, and replace it with an entirely touch sensitive one, with some sort of display/screen behind it. There would be no physical keys or touchpad, the entire bottom part where you would normally type would be replaced with the touch sensitive display. Same sort of thing as on an iphone or an ipod touch, but keyboard sized.
Id like to see in future laptops a solar panel for charging the battery. Enough to boot up in a limited mode to do the basics like type a letter or send an email
so there is a special number you call that connects to your computer and you just say stuff and it types it in from wherever you are. So if you are like at the gold coast on a nice holiday and you remember that you need to type up a report for school or work than all you have to do is call the computer and say what you want to be typed.
an nonbreakable computer so if you drop it, it wont brake. Also i would like a mini tv screen in the top corner so you can work on the computer and still catch your favorite shows
I would to have to see a touch screen or for some things i would like to see 3-d objects that could pop out of the screen. i would like to see many things for the touch screen you could you a pen so that it is realistic. You have your own creative character when you sign in on your computer saying hello welcome what would you like to do today and some controls are voice activated.
If toshiba laptops could come with three different versions each with preloaded software to meet user needs, three good ides would be, creative design (adobe software for images and videos) music (preloaded with Sibalius, Guitar Pro 5.2, some sort of garage band like program, and maybe one for hardcore games with top of the line laptop graphics :)
i want one that when you open it up it has two monitors that fold out from both sides! I want a mouse and key board that just sit in the place that the keyboard sits in! I want a sub woofer in the back of the computer!!!
( can be done by making the main screen a little thicker, storing the secound screen inside of it, easy to just press a button or pull it out by hand)
I would love a bag less PC, it's a simple feature but a laptop I could easily carry around the train, tam and bus without requiring a backpack or a laptop bag. Not simply just putting a handle on it, but making it more secure and protected against damage.
HD wide screen TV tuner, web cam, face rec, hard drive rec,usb sleep ,
a new unit should have eye recogition through the web cam And a finger print start up .A touch screen key board. By the real neet ad where can we see one in canada
Beam a hologram giving a 3 d representations of people or things. built in genetic identifying software for security. Mobile phone charger. waterproof keyboard to protect from spills. Inbuilt gps to help find computer if stolen.
Touch screen so no need for mouse or keyboard. Similar senses as humans like smell so will have ability to alert you to danger, ie fire. Have webcam on both sides of screen to give a 360 panoramic view.
Hey Toshia, three features are HD-Widescreen, the built in TV tuner and facial recognition.
thats abit outrageous but it would really cool to see. If not that then possibly a holographic projector built in and a touch screen. By this i mean that everything on the screen is touch but say if your watching a movie it would be really cool if u pinched/ grabbed the video and dragged it out into open air or maybe even 2 screens?
facial recogniton, hard drive protection and USB sleep n charge.
I'd love a computer without a keyboard. It would do things either through voice control or mind control. Why type and essay if you can just think it and have it appear word by word?
James Bond virtual planning board style keyboard with vibration feedback and hologram capabilities, with ability to switch to see the moving parts inside the computer
The important features in this laptop are: USB Sleep-and-Charge, Finger print login and the Backlit Keyboard.
I want a laptop that can adapt to my day-to-day activities. One that can learn how I do things and in turn do it for me. It would also be fun if the laptop can talk with me.
Inbuilt TV tuner, built in webcam and a screen that goes right to the edge, three features of the Toshiba.
In a future laptop Id love a rounded screen, to immerse you in the world of the already beautiful Toshiba graphics. Id like a touch screen, so selecting programs would be a quick and easy. Also, inbuilt capabilities for graphic design work like graphics tablets.
So i wanted to be realistic. Though we say things cannot come true, but may eventually come to us.
So I'm thinking an inbuilt wireless everything. It doesn't sound like much but if you think about it! wireless HDMI (connect to tv wirelessly) and maybe and inbuilt tv tuner antenna with a inbuilt set top box that automatically converts your analog signals into digital anywhere you go.
This comes from the heart, not the motivation i get from this competition, this is what WE want.
In shooting games, it'd be cool to have something in the laptop that shoots out at you and gently hits you so you have the feeling that you've actually been shot! This would make the player feel that it was for real.
Considering this day and age of motion sensitive technology and the fact that GUI technology is what this generation looks for, I believe that new Toshiba notebooks should have motion sensitive technology built-in e.g. the new PS3 motion controller. Using this technology to appeal to the gaming community, you could be able to "scan" the user's body and actually allow them to play as themselves into the virtual world, instead of generating facial and body features for them to choose from.
yeah i want to win the new 3000u toshiba cause its soo sleek and awsome in a toshiba nut too! LOL new laptop from toshiba to have cupholders and to have more crystal clear sound and a computerscreen 100% durable rubber case protector so that way when you drop your laptop itll have less impact and will last longer on the internet too and a backup charger just incase it dies out =)
i would like, a 3g sim card reader,, hd webcam, back lit keyboard, projector, battery life - that exceeds one day, louder speakers, backlit mirror - when in sleep mode, over a tb of hd space, when setting up the laptop you can choose what programs should be installed, better security, a fan that blows toward you, more accessory to the laptop, hdmi - in &out, basic water proof/ dust proof, mini printer, thin, being usful in class, built in console emulator, a side full of usb ports, gps built in
The ability to be a hologram projector webcam ,touch screen, runs on solar energy in the day time and darkness at night so you don't have to charge it, make it any size i want so it can fit in my pocket, make screen bigger
A laptop with the feature to fit in my pocket, it would shrink into a smaller size but still grow to 20 inch screen. Also able to install programs and start up in an instant. Lastly, it should float on my lap, so it doesn't make my lap burn.
touch screen, long battery life, use of ram more efficiently, some nessacery programs built in like photo shop itunes, virus protection bluetooth, and of course win 7
This may seem a bit too "futuristic" but perhaps on a thing by the touch pad there could be a fingerprint reader. You know, like when the computer knows your finger print so only YOU can access your laptop computer.
I would like the ability to be able to type without speaking, image being able to have the computer be able to read your voice and type on the screen, and you would not need to actually type yourself and be heard on the webcam. Also the ability to harge via solar light.
I hope i win my computer is in shambles and is nearly breaking down lol.
Toshiba has many functions, but does it have a projector? what if your sitting in the office and MEETING TIM! and "oh no i have no way to show everyone my project! oh, wait, it has a projector!" now you can project your PROJECT! Toshiba, leading inovation.
i would like someting thats easyer for blind people to use. Im not blind myself but cant imagin how hard it would be to use if you cant see. So maybe better voice activated features. That would be great
I'd like my toshiba to have a wireless mouse built into it. (not a trackpad) I'd like it to have a finger print recognizer built in so you can keep your computer safe! I'd like it to have a ton of RAM and a super-fast proccessor! Not to mention a load of hard-drive memory. Like, 1,000 GB. I'd like photoshop and vegas already built in. and two webcams (one on each side). Oh...and I think it would go good with a built in phone! That would be SUPER COOL!
The laptop has a high definition wide screen and a tv tuner and also a esata hdd. In future toshiba laptops laptops we should have a touch screen and perhaps make parts more enviromentally friendly. Also having a flexible solar panel on the top of the laptop so u can charge your batteries when you are out. You could also put a switch on it so if you dont wanna charge from solar you just switch it off on the side.
One VERY obvious and ultimate feature I would like to see in future Toshiba Labtops, is the ability for my PC to charge-up via Solar light. The technology is here! It's a very green solution, it's economical, and if I'm on the go & can't use an outlet, I have a way to keep my computer running, or at least increase its battery life. The light the PC projects should be able to be REUSED as renewable energy. And if sunlight isn't an option, it should be able to charge via kinetic energy - movement!
What i would love to see in a laptop is a built in projector so that you could show people what your watching or use it for school to show a presentation! that would be nice right? Also a webcam (built in) that can will have the ability to move wherever you do so that your not constantly having to position the laptop at any given point in time. Also the ability to let your computer ask you what you would like to do right when you start it up instead of having to click to get what you want open.
I would love a laptop that could have the ability to speak to me while I am on it. It could be like an assistant. You talk to it about things that you want done, and it does it for you. You need it to type something up for you, it scans what needs to be typed, and it types it up for you. You want it to bring up a certain file, you simple say the name. You want it to go on the net and download something for you, it finds what you're looking for and downloads it. It's a time saver, and it's easy.
4. a very cleaver projector that follows your eyes and shows the screen right in front of your eyes. So when ever u are looking at the projector bulb u see the screen.
5 speech recognition is cool n all but it would be your need 2 be in front of the screen to use it. It would be great if u could set a noise that auto shuts down your computer when your in any room of the house like a Spartan /300 AHOO AHOO
1. See through screens so i can click on a button and I can see through my screen.
2. Wirless build in keyboards. I dont see why they do not do this now but have the main keyboard wireless and after it neatly clips back into place
3. in the future I want to see my keyboard made off play doe with a little wireless chip on the side I want to throw my play doe at the wall and start typing.
I'd like a laptop that shrinks with a push of a button shrinking down to the size of a phone, for it to have a smart chip where you can it exactly what to do, a build in everything (projectors ect) wireless everything (for plugging into tv or what ever you want to plug it into) and last a 3D for everything!
I would like to see that the toshiba camera has a camera that you can remove and still use while walking around some sort of radius that the signal will go that would be really cool and is should be touchscreen
I'd like to see a laptop that can transform into Megatron, who can then transform into a gun, which I can use to finally give the Autobots what they deserve.
a wireless connection between monitor and keyboard, to disconnect the screen and use a stylus as a touchscreen, or just for comfort while on a plane, anything can be done with such versatility. A flexible build would add strength, drop your precious laptop, without it braking is perfect
Mental visualization to chosen file contraption! -A name that just roles off the tongue! This way, you can create anything, from a fantasy landscape to an essay on War and Peace! Imagination is your only boundary! Simply gather up your desired output and let the emulation commence...
when you boot up the laptop, a holigram assistant that pops up next to your keyboard and guides you with everything you do, (like homework, game cheats, etc, etc) it should also have voice recognition so that you can talk to it and ask it questions!!!
Id like it to have built in teleporter to send physical objects though the Internet. Buying stuff on Ebay? Sending someone a Christmas present? Screw postage! Just use your Toshiba brand teleport device.
I want to see laptops of the future come with a wireless mouse + keybord, and have the pc component built in so it dosent take a usb slot each.
Also, auto adjusting privicy settings. good for students like me who dont want to leave my computer open at the uni libary, but have it on a open network at home for file transfers.
6.) It would be kind of cool if they could develop a program that helps you create an A.I. that acts as a companion during your laptop use, and throughly explains things if your having trouble instead of flashing some error message that you don't understand
i would love for a tshiba to be water proof have a holographic projection in the back so u can play 3d video games and so u can see movies face recognition so u can talk to it and it will answer any answer it will find on google and a built in gps. yea that would be something
I want a robotic arm that i can control though a voice recognition system also i want a built in game controller and a holographic key board and a holographic mouse so you don't have to use that stupid pad thing that good enough
I would like the camera to have the same functionality as project natal, as in moving items on screen with just a flick of your hand in the air, facial recognition etc. I also want instant bootup and shut-down. I would also want a laptop that can fold into a smaller size and fit into my pocket XD...ultimate portability!
I would also like to control it using just my mind...and very powerful hardware never hurts either.
Picture this: You open up your notebook and you have a virtual keyboard & mouse interactive screen to operate the computer (So you will have 2 screens). Of course the display will be touch. You also can customize the keyboard interface however you want it (media keys, function keys, etc). Something I also would like is like a "tap" sensor on both sides (outer sides) of the display screen that you can physically tap to switch windows or applications.
I'd like to see wireless battery charging. I don't mean by placing it on a surface for it to charge. I mean, actual wireless charging. You might have a charging station 6 metres away sending some kind of electric frequency that charges the laptop which is on the couch.
100% waterproof, built in mixer (for your drum/guitar recordings), fold out screens so you can have 3 X 15inch screens( maxishine style), surround sound, cup holder, cigarette lighter, wheels and a motor so you can use it as a motorized skateboard, a seat, drinks disposer, sticky tape disposer, portable toilet and a tent
So thin and elastic that you can roll it and put it in your pocket.
Screens could be as big as you want and you could have it with you at all the time, just like cellphone.
I know that there already are screens so thin that somebody must install them or you will just break it, but hardware is too big right now, maybe in 10-15 years.
And they don't have to have 10gb ram and other newest technology since pc is for that, laptops should be handy not powerfull.
A feature I'd be willing to see is that there could be a built in projector for an infrared keyboard in the laptop, possibly saving up some space and reducing mass to make it easier to travel round with.
Voice-operated locking and speech recognition might be good too.
I want a laptop that is completely made of a malleable material (as far fetched as it may be) so you can bend it and fold it over to store it in small spaces without it being too fragile.
A Toshiba, which curses everyt time you smash it somewhere. You'd make it out of carbon fibre or some other futuristic material (or uranium to nuke people you get annoyed with) and then we could take our frustration out on that. How cool would that be?
I think it would be cool instead of a keyboard where the keyboard is its like a whole touch screen thing where you press a button its a keyboard and you press it again and its like a wacom type touch pad where you can draw, write and what not.
I would like in my crazy futuristic laptop some wireless brain-scanner thing (that won't cause health problems) that will play music/sounds depending on your mood; eg. says funny slogans and quotes at times you need it, and plays epic music when you're in need of inspiration.
HI.. No not hello. HI, Human Interface. is what i would like to see. Were the user has A headset on that interacts with the computer and user. allowing almost instantaneous access to any application or game.
I would love the new Toshiba to have a wireless mouse inbuilt. The mouse should be able to be stored inside the laptop and chargeable inside the laptop.
I would love to have a inbulit gps on one of the future toshiba laptops and also i would like it to have a a solar panel or something that means it can be charged by just sitting outside.
- High Definition Wide-screen (goes right to the edge)
- Built-in TV Tuner (great for recording tv show and watching them later
- Web-cam (facial recognition feature)
Feature i'd like to see, Motion detection sensors or through the web cam. Picks up hand movements to swipe through multiple home pages and the web. Allows for smooth interaction with technology opening up doors to new software. swipe both hands to zoom in and out of pics and movies.
the laptop of the future will have a touch screen would have a 1 terabyte hard drive and a 20 gigabyte ram and will be as thin as the mac book air and it is biodegradable and the battery charger has a solar panel so you could charge it with out using energy
What i would want to see in laptops in the future is a motion sensor mouse as in u move ur hand to move the mouse, as well as some voice comands to make short cuts a bit easier
i would like to see laptops small as your fist so that when you're traveling you don't have to always carry that ugly computer bag that you have to take with you also i would want to be able to customize the hardware specs in the laptop and lesser lag for internet .
I would like to see a laptop that sits in your backpack or something with the ability to hook up to a pair of sunglasses or goggles which allowed you to use your eye movement as a sort of mouse allowing you to view documents, web sites, maybe even simple games without pulling out a large laptop and having to set it down. There would be a sensor detecting objects too close to you and the windows would be transparent enough to still read but allow you to see obstacles in front of you.
The problem with laptops for me has always been them running out of power and mobility.
Therefore if we manage to develop cold fusion so it works, that would be the most usefull thing I would ever need in my laptop (infinite power).
Also if you could create a small "package" in pocket size, that when you press on it grwos into a full normal sized laptop. This would sure help me alot with portability.
I would like a laptop that would be able to shrink into like the size of a iphone and then grow back up to normal laptop or netbook size transformer status that would increase the portability FAR MORE
Laptops should just be projections, atleast one projection of the screen and one projection of a keyboard.
The laptop operates by motion sensors when you touch the projection displayed and mouses would be optional as you could touch the screen projection as well.
I would like to see a laptop that also a printer. for instance there would be a print tray in the computar with a little toner and ink. and paper would just print out the side of the computer
In the future I think that laptops will be connected STRAIGHT to your brain, You think of the thing you want and it is shown to you through your own eyes.
Built in printer, thin but strong touch screen for art programs, Built in motion sensor that can scan and materialize objects and put them into 3D objects on your screen and alter them, and I think thats it.
A scanning device that is able to make 3D images of objects/people that you scan. For example, if you want to have a 3D model of yourself for an image/game, stand in front of your laptop and scan yourself!
I would like something a la Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. Remember that scene when Mr. Wonka reaches into the television screen and pulls out a fully edible chocolate bar? I would like something like that. I want a screen you can reach into.
Also, the ability to think of an image in your mind and have it immediately show up on programs like Photoshop or Paint would be amazing.
I would also like a laptop that gives you relationship advice or could be your friend. A sentient laptop.
It would be awesome if in the future laptops could provide medical advice through the inclusion of various plug-in devices, such as a blood pressure pump, a stethoscope, a Body Mass Index meter and even a way of analysing small drops of blood. No more embarrassing physicals at the GP!
Here are some of the selections I would like to see implemented into laptops in the future:
1) Interface of laptop to be able to see seen and accessed on a mobile. So if I go out for the day and I can see that, say, I need to run a few programs while I'm out, I can access my laptop from anywhere and have those programs run, come home, and have them finished!
2) Eject-able batteries is another thing I would like to see in laptops, one where we can charge a spare for travel, just in case.
In the future I'd love to see the whole keyboard become the touch pad for the mouse, built in iPod docking station to free up USB ports, and to be able to hook up things like digital cameras via blue tooth.
I would like to see a thin extra screen which could be used a art tablet. It could be pulled up and drawn on, the thin screen would be used to prevent damage to the actual screen itself.
Hey blunty, ive subscribed to you for a while now, love the videos. I would like to see laptops incorporate a motion control camera like project natal from microsoft. Think of how cool that would be to have a motion control camera built in!! you control your stuff with little effort!! you could also give voice commands for what you want your PC to do. you know how difficult it is using a laptop on a flat surface?? No more with the motion control camera/webcam!!
I WOULD LIKE, a laptop that would emit a force field around you, whether this may be a "sound proof" force field around you so you can work in peace in the public or a simple noise-emitting force field which would annoy people around you so they would shoo-off!
Super-fast start-up and shut down (suspension or hibernation) so I can get going quick without having to waste PRECIOUS TIME! time is money... and play.. :)
oh Blunty, I see you want one of these laptops for yourself... you know, nothing's stopping you keeping the one YOU are meant to give away. Who's going to know!? ;)
i think a 3D projector
like i know you can get camras with a thing that projects and image on a wall wud a 3D one that could project a game on a desk or somthing, that would be cool. if not. i think that the laptop should be a speaker. like those mini speaks you see advertised that turn any sureface into a speaker, the laptop should do that

Touch screen so no need for mouse or keyboard. Similar senses as humans like smell so will have ability to alert you to danger, ie fire. Have webcam on both sides of screen to give a 360 panoramic view.
lanodnaneek 2 years ago

Hi Toshiba,
So i wanted to be realistic.
This comes from the heart, not the motivation i get from this competition, this is what WE want.
uohcmik 2 years ago
Three key features of the Toshiba U500 are the HD-Widescreen, the built in TV tuner and facial recognition.
Future Laptop:
There once was a person called Koshy who had a laptop named Toshy.
Koshy was embarrassed of his power-hungry and overweight Toshy.
The future became clear for Koshy,
Concentrate on 4 cs Koshy thought!
Colour, CPU, Capacity, Creativity
And Koshy guarantees that future Toshys will be bought!

Ultimate Feature?
Hmm I think I'm going to have to make this realistic.
I always wanted a computer to turn the gas around me into an entire hologram.
Imagine being in a planetarium...except your PC is running and you can view any part in the universe right before your eyes.
Have you ever heard of the game Spore? Imagine playing GOD with planets using this gas-type holographic feature.
I think it'd be cool, you can even try out your outfits that way! It'll make gaming more realistic!

A laptop that charges wirelessly.
Somehow you can charge it through radio-battery waves and would never need any cords to go along with it.
A completely wireless laptop.
Finally something truly portable and easy to use.
It should also be water proof and damage resistant.
The key boards would be made of a touch-screen surface, which would have a mouse pad somewhere in it.
Too bad I live in the US :(
