saw his Bass for sale in a guitar shop in Bath [England]...black,beaten-up,"flying V" type thing..£2,500!!!!!...did'nt buy it..can't play the bass anyway! P.S;What the f**k is this bloke up to?..not a lot on his website..is he off writing another book about rocks? cum'on Drude get gigging and touring I'm bored!
I'd have a listen to his new one-"Black Sheep"....its going back to his old stuff.Seen him recently with his alter-ego band Brain-Donor......A local gig last year was cancelled 'cos he did his back in pulling up a tree!...but he's disapeared since then.
Funny to think that just a few years earlier the girls in the TOTP front row were rather excited at the prospect of Cope underwear. Here you know they're appalled!
One of my favorite ever Cope tv spots...the fact that a song as raw and noon-commercial as this ended up on a show like Toppy is amazing. Bet they (the producers) were shitting themselves when this went down!
I have been a devout member of the Drudion since the 1980s. And I have never before seen this AWESOME (in other words, completely BARKING) performance. They don't make alternative rock stars like they used to.
I've never seen Julian look like this. Hilarious. He looks like the last of the mohicans. By the way, what is the meaning of "The Archdrude"? Also what album is this song off?
'Drude' is a conjunction of 'Druid' and 'Dude': the combination of ancient spirituality and rock'n'roll. JC in his curiously egocentric yet self-aware kind of way, refers to himself as The Archdrude.
Through the wonder of modern technolgy, that indelible lesion in my brain is made visual again! All I remember of this is his bizarre 'native' stance at the very end of the performance.
F@cking classic! And I still don't drive a car to this day...

Mayo's face at the end of it is classic. When they bring back TOTPs lets make sure Sir Cope is amongst the top 10!

Gotta love the drude, but the confused teens in the audience make this a classic.

Cheers! I've just found out! [can't find the album in the "shops" tho']....does this mean the angry one will be touring soon? ...lets hope so! eh?

He does tour
But its all kinda accoustic stuff, I lost interest after Peggy Suicide to be honest, I used to adore the guy.

Julian has always been a fave (except for recent albums) since the teardrops and onward. Massively underappreciated

- Bugger - !...
- Actually, I were thinking of his similarly-themed but diffo tune 'Drive, She Said'...
...Please allow me to shut the hell up now...
RevRabbitNov63 4 years ago
...Does this tune not both reference & simutaneously turn inside-out 'Drive My Car' by Da BeDulls (...whom I lurve) - ?!...
- Then again, JC's prob. so into some obscure Krautrock here he'd think this notion trite...

Best anti-car culture song ever!

Remember this one well. What a performance in shamanistic dressing gown and daffy duck underpants! Brilliant.
