Yes. From my experience, available effects is Tremlolo (Amplitude modulation at low rate using LFO and VCA), AM (same route but high LFO rates: a bit similar to ringmod, but too buzzy for real deal), LFOed filtering (awesome sound!), some combinations. With some DIY CV continuous or gate pedals you can also use it as Wah/Volume or something like stomp-controlled wah (Pedal->Gate->ADSR->FIlter).
how is it pssible to only use the Dark energy to Generate sounds? im contemplating buying one seeing that im into avant garde sound scape music. also i see it has an EXT audio input for processing external audio, could i process a guitar through it, or any other instrument?

I'm not sure i completely understand you, but i'll try to answer.
Dark energy has VCA gain pot (3rd pot in 1st row) making it possible to "open gate" between VCA-VCF section and audio output manually without external Gate (keypress) source. Also some octave and pitch tuning is possible.
Yes, you can process guitar with DE. Ext. audio input has preamp suitable for guitar signal level, but you need to eleminate VCO buzz. Look at my previous comments to find out how to do it.
