The 6088 has the same size rotor and more horsepower... so it wouldn't be smaller... the 7120 is a great machine however.... either one would be a great improvement.
@Farmerknowsbest We run a 2388 a 2588 and a 6088 on 4000 acres. their frames are longer than the 2388 for the chaffer and it has a much larger motor making it able to run a 30 foot macdon draper head and a 12 row corn head our 2388 cannot even pick up the 12 row without a third cylinder nethertless withstand the work load
great video warren! seems like these guys wouldn't have much to say if they just read the synopsis. im in central ny and it was also too wet to bale. keep it up!
your actually not putting that much back by chopping and spreading. theres studies that show that just leaving the stubble puts back enough to maintain P,K, and S levels
hallo, what yeld you get from taht field ? :0

You're assuming that is a stock 2388. To do so wouldn't be a good idea. Trust me a 6088 would be a step down.

@MegaFarmman Actually the 6088 has the same size engine at 8.3l but it is rated at a higher HP. You are right about the chassis upgrades though.

It looks like its time to upgrade to a new 6088 with a 35' Draper Head

Go with a smaller combine? Don't think so. 7120 maybe.

Price of straw is too low. 4 cents a pound isn't enough to cover the loss of nutrients.

Not possible to justify the extra man with just one combine.
