  • coughing at 1:30?

  • I never watched this movie.. yet. Can someone tel me what thi scene is all about?

  • @oOToStopANightmareOo this is basically an outline of the movies plot in the first 8 minutes. it gives you a bunch of images that you can recognize as they reappear throughout the movie. if anything, its one of the best openings for a movie IMO, cus the music makes it so gripping, along with the cinematography

  • I watched Melancholia last night, and immediately after watching this scene I felt so submersed in the world of the director. I was gripped and it felt like it was going at just the right pace. Unfortunately, the rest of the movie followed. Ironically I found the movie far more confusing when the characters were actually speaking :/ Both Trier and Kubrick pull this off, but only Stanley really makes the magic last.

  • すごく感動しました・・・。早く全部見たいです!!

  • I love that shot of her in the pond, i'm so going to draw that for my art gcse

  • drama queen

  • Scarry and deppressed :(

  • Trier's kind of channeling Kubrick here. A lot of these shots would've felt right at home in 2001.

  • this scene is brilliant ..sound making all the difference again
