Haha, you're right. He did get the most fan mail; and his fans were mostly mothers and children! I don't think he was ugly, just more reserved than the rest because he wasn't "the face" of 'The Beatles' like John, Paul, or George were because they were song-writers. He was very funny and charming when given the opportunity, though!

I know I thought it was terrible, Ringo was indeed a charming, pleasant, down-to-earth fellow and this may have saved the Beatles rep. altogether! John did mention when he thought their heads were getting too big onstage he'd look to Ringo to bring him back down. Hahaha.
