  • happy tune. your father has his own style.

  • this is a sick song it just sounds so peaceful keep it up

  • @JamshaidAliKhan Haha no, thank you! Thank you for watching :)

  • @JamshaidAliKhan :) Thanks Jamshaid. And I'm sure one day you could be just as good. All it takes is practice and hard work. Never give up!

  • This song is stuck in my head. You should ask him to tab it. I'd love to play it... His Song writing style is similar to mine to!

  • @Baker3939 very cool, glad you like it :), ill let him know...and try to keep posted with his latest stuff

  • this is beautiful

  • this sounds unbelievably amazing. . . is the sound in the background the wind or cars passing by

  • Love the piece, absolutely on the mark!

Just a shame about the camera angle, would have been nice to appreciate the finger dexterity...

  • Yes I know. But filming on my little digi cam...it doesn't have zoom.

  • @fav14 Tis ok :) The main thing is you got an amazing piece of music on record!

  • This s a cool bit of guitar, but why ishe called the guitar "chameleon?"

I mean it's a cool name, but is there a meaning to it?

  • There is actually.

You know how chameleons can turn different color? Well, my dad plays in different tunings and different styles of music. That is why he calls himself the guitar chameleon.

  • Awesome tune, brilliantly performed by your dad. In fact its one of the best DADGAD tunes I have come across anywhere on the Tube.

  • What tuning is he in?

  • tab in guitarpro or powertab pleeeeaaaassssseeee

  • Amazing playing skills.. name suits him

  • lol thanks I'll tell him you said that ;)

  • your dad has some talent there my friend

beautiful piece.... would love and be honored to learn it

  • Just randomly stumbled on this vid (it was a suggested vid for me), and gotta' say... Your dad's got some serious skill in both playing and writing. I'd love to see a tab for this also. Tell your dad that this is going to be stuck in my head for a long while now, great stuff!

  • I talked to my wife today about your video. We were sitting on one of those red London double-decker busses. She explained that the word 'chameleon' in the English language stands also for 'changing the colour'. I did not know that. This fits, of course, quite well to your father's guitar style, if it is that what it means.

  • Well, yea, my father purposely calls himself the chameleon because of the different styles he plays.

  • I am an aficionado of your father's music! I like to listen to it over and over again! However, I would re-write the comment above as it is not crisp enough to the reader. The first sentence, in my opinion, is by far too long and makes me rather feel sleepy. As you are dealing already with a (very interesting) piece of lullaby and use, in addition, the wording of a (slow motion) chameleon it would be in, my view, better to use short sentences instead.

  • :) ok, will do my best

  • Its a shame the traffic sound is in the back ground.

  • def would luv to get a tab on this ^_^ I've been looking again at finger picking styles, and this sounds fun to play for sure :)

  • absolutely amazing

  • such an awesome song, whats the name?

  • Its a simple song...its called "Scottish lullaby".. it would be my dads dream for all guitar players to play it...its in the DADGAD tuning..its a song he wrote for his father that is Scottish.

  • i would be honored to learn. Does he have it written down?

  • check out "the cameleon" on guitar... (adam rafferty)

  • sounds great. is it original material?

  • yup

  • nice playing.

  • ah mannn thats really nicee =)

  • this is so beautiful!

your dad is such a good player

the song he's playing kind of reminds me of august rush (thats a good thing haha)

  • Agreed! The song kinda reminds me of August Rush!

  • that movie was inspiring, thanks ;)

  • Realy nice :)

  • dude thats beautiful

  • awesome !

    beautiful playing

  • awesome, your dads amazing!

  • Haha ...maybe, andrew jackson the soloist or something?...the acoustic guitar player?

  • absolutly amazing!!! i love it

  • Good song, but what's the name of it?

  • You know...sadly I dont know. I will ask him for sure though ;)

  • Very nice.

  • not bad!!

  • your dads awesome lol

  • I wish my dad could play that way....

In fact, he hates when I play...

    hehehe!

    nice song!

    greetings from Mexico!

  • Wow great song. Your dad should start a youtube channel and make better quality videos. I'd love to see more. Wonderful work!

    Vinh

  • yea, he's far too busy to do it himself though...I could do it...then I would be updating like two channels

  • Every time I put this video on I feel invigorated. What a fabulous tune. So skillfully performed. Bravo to your dad!!! By the way where was this recorded? Hawaii? I think I can hear the sea in the background!!

  • Hah! Hawaii I wish but no, this was recorded in a small town called Santa Barbara. The sounds you are hearing are the cars passing by. We live next to the street but there is a beach near us as well ;)

  • Amazing. So nice!

  • what do you call this kind of acoustic guitar playing? drifter?

  • fingerstyle

  • your dad has some talent there

  • Sound like Tommy Emmanuel, 5/5 very good playing!

  • Hah, he does too. Nice.

  • He uses just the two fingers as i do. right on

  • Dude. I wish i could peel your skin off, put it on and be you... you know... i mean...Wow!! :P

    5/5

  • damn hes good. also, thats a very beautiful guitar. what is it?

  • santa cruise

  • very nice

  • that's crazy, he's a really great guitarist and all... but whats crazy is he has the same name as my stepdad... who also loves guitar... to be honest, hes not quite as good as your dad tho ^_^

  • haha cool

  • enough said mate! :)

  • To hear more of my fathers music..go to his website

    andrew Jackson music . com

He has his touring schedule there too.

  • Exceptional!

  • He's FAR from been the best... but he's good!

  • my father also plays the guitar but he isn't as well as this man!

  • Wow, very talented! And very nice!

  • dayum...

  • i bet the tuning is DADGAD ! could you ask your father ?

plus , can you ask him to give us the song name ? pleeeeeeeeeeeese

  • amazing piece, and great performing.

  • I want that my dad could play guitar

  • Why not wish that you, yourself, could play guitar.

  • preety coool

  • And handsome too .... lol

  • Very good indeed! :)

  • good, but can't say that I haven't seen better

  • hes pritty cool eh

  • Pretty good, but too ambitious to call him the best.

  • Must be proud to be his son

  • best in the world?

I think Andy Mckee is better :D

  • @lars4690 Haha yes my dad has spoken highly of that man too. At the time, I just hadn't any idea of what to call this vid. Just wanted to upload it and make sure it'd catch peoples attention.

  • this is really really good :} your dad has some skill! i like those decending harmonic things alot, keep it up!

  • Hey everyone! I really do hope you actually read this....if any of you are wondering where he is playing next, the place is called Live Oaks. On June, 21.09 thanks for watching!

  • You might want to tell us all what city and state that you live in, first.

  • Well.....theres alot of crazy people out there, and youtube is worldwide, so you might want to be aware of what your telling, first.

  • Hey I was 14 and dumb, wasn't thinking about some other title at the time. I just wanted to add this and see what comes of it. Wasn't quite thinking what would make a catchy title, but of course, some take it seriously. Sorry. But thanks anyways for commenting ;)

  • he loves his harmonics eh =D

  • fact

  • the make is tanglewood, they're beautiful guitars :)

  • you should have a go on a taylor

    truely amazing :)

  • what type of guitar is that? It's beautiful :) Taylor?

  • wow can he give me lessons? get him to do a version of my song Angel Kind

  • Has no one heard of Pierre Bensusan?!

    This is a travesty!

He and Michael Hedges changed how one approaches the acoustic guitar. All those below are awesome but based on composition and originality - never mind technical skill - those guys pretty much started fingerstyle.

    :)

  • Check out Antonio Forcione's "Heartbeat". It's amazing

  • sure thing!

  • Great playing, feel, tone. What more could you ask for?

  • Nice job with the harmonics and the palm muting. The way it was just barely slipped into the song was great. Cudos to you.

  • what song is this? O_O

  • dunno if he is the best i have ever heard...but man thats a nice tune....sweeeet

  • Your dad JAMS!!!

    Go dad!

  • dude, your dad is sweet! and he kinda looks like iron man! lol

  • This guy is great!

  • Great Guitaring Sounds Hear!

    Pretty Guitar. 5 Star

    Regards,

    Desmond Sun

  • dude this is the best guitar playing dad man. he deserves to be a pro on the studios.literally.he should preform on conserts

  • Haha, yea, he's been doing that now for a while actually. This is an old vid. New ones on the way! You can look on youtube for him in a vid as well. I think it's shack somthing....sorry, I forgot the name.

  • OHHH MAAN! Your dad is amazing!

    What's the guitars brand?

    Love it.

  • I believe it's called santa cruise

  • ya man he is fuckin good

  • damn! i love that little sound he does

would love to learn to do that

  • Are you talking about the natural harmonics he plays every so often? all you do is lightly touch (but not press) the string above a fret corresponding to the note you want, and play the string. The strongest harmonics are at the 5th, 7th, 9th and 12th frets but with practice you can get them in more places.

  • he deserves a much better recording than this, go inside and do it, you deserve to be heard correctly

  • screw that sign this guy and give him the studio equipment HE REALLY DESERVES

  • wow its wonderfull,,, the cualitu has to say nothing,, just listen the song!!! its awesome!

  • he is terrific!!!!!! i want my bro to play like that.... T.T

  • epic

  • Anyone know what make of guitar this is?

Oh and nicely played of course ^^

  • looks like a santa cruz

  • Its a Santa Cruz F cut out, made by Richard Hoover.

  • i wanna play like him!

  • this dude is rockin my fuckin socks off

  • aaaaah this is so beautifull summer:D

  • I want to be that good too when I'm older!

  • great song but would love to hear it in better quality

    keep it up dude!

  • *insert witty comment here*

  • This guy can really make a guitar sing.

wish I could make tunes like that

  • he is good be like angus young soon

  • superb!!

  • pitchy

  • thats beautiful

  • maby he can get a job playing on a bass fishing video.

  • you just made my day

  • the things hes ''playing'' are the complete opposite tabs to how the song sounds ...

  • THe world's best acoustuc guitarist is Kyle Gass and Miyavi.

"Selfish Love" LOOK IT UP! YOU WONT REGRET IT!! ON YOUTUBE

  • dominic frasca is up there too...

  • he god damn good, will he teach me a few things haha, i been playin 2 years , and not nowhere near as good as that :P

  • i can do that

  • then show us

  • a friend of mine has been booked on a

    cruise...playing acoustic guitar to rave

    reviews

    3800 a week

  • that was great, what is this song? whose work? thank friends

  • Andrew Jackson is his name. I've forgotten the name though:( he's made so many songs, why not look him up on myspace...or facebook. He said he had a website.

  • is ur dad a musician or its just a hobbie??

  • What I mean to say is: it's clear he loves what he's doing, and that's beautiful in itself.

  • Haha thanks

  • If I'd just had a great BBQ meal on a sunny day, a couple glasses of good bergerac and a toot on a doobie, then this guy sat down and played for me, I daresay I'd vote for him as best acoustic guitarist in the world...

  • That was very nice, but I don't think Carlos Montoya, Sabicas, Julian Bream, or Segovia will be concerned about their place in history as a result of this clip.

  • beautiful!

  • he's very good! but not "the world's best acoustic guitarist"

  • I agree but what he's been through and worked so hard to get to. He deserves a trip around the world.

  • great!! check out for Justin King

  • I play about the same standard as your dad but sadly my kids are not just so impressed with me! I wish. Mine just leave the room. Nice tune your dad plays though.

  • Hmph, I am too busy to sit and listen anyways. He practices randomly sometimes. he'll just grab one of the 7 of his guitars and start making it up as he goes. I respect him though.

  • LOVE IT! Like every one else on here, I'd love the tabs.

Was he putting new strings on?

  • nice song but not "the world´s best guitarist"...

  • agreed

  • yeah

  • Very beautiful! I'd love to have tabs of it. Is it available?

  • not yet...maybe on myspace. Look up "the guitar chameleon"

  • this video doesn't quite match up, but it's all good

  • It's amazing though of what a small canon digital camera can record.

  • this is how my dads always been, and how i one day will be

i think this is beyond words i can hear the passion in it, i love it

  • Excellent - I'd love the tabs for this cause I'm having a hell of a time learning it by ear =)

    Thanks for the video!
