The Outer Sailor Senshi, Transform and Attack

Is there any backstory given in the anime or manga as to how the outters (specifically Haruka and Michiru) became Sailors? Did they have someone who tracked them down and activated them, as Artemis did for Venus and Luna did for the others? Or is the sudden appearance of these new senshi a little unexplained?

@chasef89 well I never read all of the manga (almost finished SuperS, but it was the tokyopop translation so i stopped reading it when the new translations were announced) but as far as i am aware/can remember there is nothing about their origins.

my guess is pluto found then or something

@AranelEnMirkwood Actually in the anime there is an episode that shows how Haruka and Michiru met and how Haruka became Sailor Uranus. In the manga I don't remember any explanation, but I think both Haruka and Michiru became sailor senshi because of dreams about the upcoming silence (that's how Michiru became a soldier in the anime). Pluto never found them and made them senshi, because they were all sailors when Pluto meets Haruka and Michiru for the first time. :)

@umimo That episode does not really explain Michiru's origins, nothing does. She is the only senshi we know nothing about. But someone needed to awaken her and give her the henshin wand. And also you are forgetting that Pluto is the gardian of time, a future version of herself could easily have awoken them.

also the anime changes a lot of things, so i don't think its a good idea to base theories on the story just on the anime...

Sailor moon is my favorite anime, and Pluto's attack is my favorite, I like the way she said DEAD SCREAM.... and the background song is my favorite song, next to Moonlight Densetsu :)

Guys they're going by Japanese mythology not Roman mythology. That's why Neptune is for the seas and Uranus for skies, Saturn for Death and Pluto for Time. It is a Japanese show...

@Atlessa in japanese alphabet there is no L so it sounds like an R  So When Saturn says her attack it sounds like Grave. My name is Laura so in japanese its Ro-Ra since there is no L's in the alphabet

@CharlieBladeRemus That's another thing. Neptune should be wind or air not Uranus. The Planet Neptune has the faster winds then any other planet. And if Uranus is air why does she do a Earth base attack instead of a wind attack?

@Nags Well, Neptune was the Roman god for the ocean. Just like how Mercury and Mar's elements should be switched, since Mercury is the hottest planet. They don't use the actual planet's elements, otherwise what would Jupiter be? Giant Spot Attack?

*headdesk* No she does not! Sailor Saturn is hardly in the Anime, and when she is there she is already transformed! Any henshin of hers that you do see is either fan made or from the video game! SHE DOES NOT TRANSFORM IN THE SHOW! (I'm sorry if you think I'm yelling at you that is not my intention, but I've had to explain this way too many times)

in sweden, we only had anime showing on tv to when they fought to save chibiusa the first time. all ended with her going back to her parents.. we never got to see uranus, neptune or saturn :< not really pluto either.. bu anyway ^^
