@mrcoolpimpice...He's the 2nd best. Duane Allman was and still is THE VERY BEST slide guitar player to ever walk the face of the earth!! Derek models him self on Duane. If you read the book "Sky Dog" there's a quote from Derek sayin "The frist time I saw Duane, I knew what I wanted to for the rest of my life" Of course Duane was allready dead, but Derek has always been intune with the Allman Bros beacuse of his uncle Butch who is one of the original and current drumers in the band.

In an interview I read, he said it took up 60%-70% of his playing. I ain't complaining, his slide work is an insperation to me personally. It's so clean and precise. you close your eyes, you almost can't tell he's playing slide.
