I can remember this episode from when I was 9 years old! The evil bunk beds. I would never sleep in a bunk bed from then on. I've met a lot of people who remember it.
@staciarose20 If you are honest and insist it is true, then you should not care what people think. Why be afraid of your beliefs? Why would they go on TV? P.S. there are muh crazier people than this family.
I just started re watching USM from my box set and this is an episode I remember watching as a kid. I still get a little creeped out by this particular segment. To me there is something exceptionally creepy about hunting's in the 1980's. Plus the reenactment was shot on film. No show has ever come close to USM. How I miss it.
"Thought they might be victims of the devil." The overall storyline is brilliant and down right conceivably possible. But that line seemed rather cliche. Another humorous goof was when he said he was called up for dinner and said he'd return to painting after he ate his lunch lmfao. Still this makes for the ultimate ghost story. Having said that can anyone recommend and books that tell ghost stories of this nature? Thanks.
@KirstyCotton3 Man.. when I was little this episode use to scare me to death.. and we had bunk beds too.. Lol.. I would sleep on the floor for weeks.. Lol.. ahhhhhh those were the good old days..
I wonder how the haunting was connected to the bed... Did the bed have spirits or did the house already have dormant spirits and the bed or re-arrangement of the furniture revive the spirits?
@irenaprude2010 UM said the bed came from a second hand shop, so perhaps the haunting had something to do with the previous owners.
Question: if they suspected the haunting was connected to the bed, why didn't they do something about the bed while the haunting took place, not after, when they had it destroyed?

Why would they black out their faces? Are they worried the ghost is going to come look for them?
chachee99 5 months ago
@chachee99 Ha, it's so family/neighbors won't recognize them and think they are crazy. People judge others.

I feel a presence of evil where I live too.
The MF'ers who play their music at the top of the freakin' stereo volume.
I've never seen ANYONE more evil than they are, playing that shit at 2 and 3 in the damn morning.
Freakin assholes.

Interesting: the Tallmans moved in on 13 April 1986. I wonder if 13 had something to do with it?

I don't get the whole bunk-bed thing. Were the spirits in the bunk bed and then released into the house that way?

@OrangeObsessions
Spirits can attach to items, yes. Where ever that item goes, the spirit follows. It will haunt anything that possesses that object.
machew1023 1 year ago
@machew1023
Not only can a possessed object go haywire.
Conditions also have to be met like the place the possessed object is and the sensitivity of the people who experience hauntings.
Violent poltergeist are in some cases connected to the person and not the area.
Or sometimes that person activates an area.
Take out that person from the area and the place is quiet.
In a matter of fact this case eerily resembles The Amityville Horror.
