Hei wasn't more human in season 2!! he became emotionless, cruel, drunk, abusive. he even said 'i can't be irregular as a contractor anymore' in other words he becomes what he hated in season 1. he was definately more human in season 1 he just hid it.

i love darker than black! 2nd season was very different but now the way he explains it , it makes sense the story has to evolve or else it would be the same thing just like season one so what would the point be. makes sense to me.

darker than black season 2 was shit. it felt completely rushed and it was too short. they turned hei into a emo drunk lolicon. i hope bones animates the manga darker than black shikkoku no hana, it was incredible. shikkoku no hana felt more like a true sequel then the actual season 2.

DtB is probably one of the most original shows out there. Animated or otherwise. The payment thing was a unique twist and I like how they try and make powers realistic (Nov 11 can only turn liquids to ice can't just shoot it out of his hands. Hei needs to conduct electricity. He's not Electro or Static Shock). The espionage aspect is also great and a subject that isn't touched enough in anime IMO. I hope and pray for a season 3 because 2 leaves things far too open

I've been a fan of Darker Than Black since it first came out and while I did think that season 1 was a bit better, season 2 was really cool in the sense that you focus more on the emotions of the characters. The only thing I think Japan did wrong with this was showing season 2 before the OVA's. I was a bit confused even after season 2 ended and then almost half a year later the story in between finally gets explained. This time around im going to watch the OVAs first and THEN season 2 :D

Well that's not that bad of a deal considering it's a Blu-Ray/ DVD combo pack and has the 4 OVAs and has both dub and sub. ANIPLEX wants $30 for 4 episodes of Madoka!(not that I ever wanted it but still)
