Responses like "Are all dave me dying?" and "To Are we still talking about dying" don't help students learn English-- unless you want them to learn it incorrectly. Furthermore, hearing a computer-generated voice does not give students exposure to naturally flowing speech with accurate inflections and allophonic variations. I'm afraid it looks like your students are better off without this grammatically flawed chat program. As a Linguist, it's my opinion that Dave does more harm than good.
I completely agree, and also find it refreshing to see that there is someone else on the internet who actually knows how to write in English, without the use of unnecessary abbreviations and constant misspelling of easily spelled words.
