Frewer was always a great actor, and highly underappreciated by the masses. This interview is old, but TAKEN was a great series and he shined BRIGHT in it. I want someone to bring frewer back as max headroom and do the show up proper. STEAMPUNK it up people!
I remember watching Max Headroom & my Mam & Dad looking at the tv, pulling annoyed faces then looking at me pissing myself laughing - they'd then shake their heads & walk out
I was so upset when they took his character out so fast of the Dawn Of The Dead remake. His talent was so superior to all the other actors in that movie. The only thing I could figure was that the newer writers were actually ignorant of who Matt Frewer was and how much of a huge fan base he had, or that because he is such a widely known and talented actor that maybe his costs were higher so they nixed him first.
I remember the coke commercials and show... but I dont remember what it was about... hmmmm I dont drink coke anymore anyways... I'm a dr pepper fan lol
The background story provided for the Max Headroom character presents a dystopic look at a run-down near-future dominated by television and large corporations. Max Headroom was shown to have been created from the memories of Edison Carter. The character's name came from the last thing Carter saw during a vehicular accident that put him into a coma: A bar with a sign warning of low clearance, marked "MAX. HEADROOM: 2.3 M".
The original movie was rebroadcast on More4 on 21 October 2007 as part o
It's amazing that he ever played Sherlock Holmes (in four Canadian TV movies) as he seems more known for comedy. I know everyone has their favorite Holmes, but he was the first actor I watched as Holmes before even I watched the old Brett and Rathbone interpretations.
May 21-2011.. pretty soon there might be video of Amanda Pays up on youtube or vimeo saying that producers are looking at the possibility to bring back Max Headroom since his newest Channel 4 commercials were so well received. Look up Max Headroom Is Back Channel 4.
@tonimusher Thats a very good idea, I never thought of that! trouble is, I am in region 2 and even tho Max was made in the UK most of the dvd's seem to be for americax
They used to have a tv screen at the line to wait for a roller coaster called the scream machine at six flags over georgia that had a talking buzzard named Buford. He would talk to the people in line. This was in the 1970's. He was kind of like an early forerunner to Max Headroom except he didnt stutter
Can't believe Tech. has caught up with the max Headroom show. The theater and even MacDonarlds has the TV screen type board that change. All it needs is Max Headroom talking on it. Just think what they could do with our Tech now. I would love to see a come back of some sort.
With all the reboots and remakes these days, it would be SO easy to do a Max Headroom movie with real CGI. Frewer could do all his voice work from his house!
Matt cracks me up- he makes the same facial expressions as Max did and talks in a "max-way" when the "re-incarnation" comes up 24 seconds into the interview ;-) To bad he wasn't in the interviews on the bonus-dvd that's been released a couple of weeks ago.... The LONG wait for a dvd-version was finally over! Max was/ is a great serie- maybe not as "high-tech" and graphic as the current computer generated blue screen stories, but great to watch again..... and again...... and again.
Amazingly he doesn't look as old as the new British Channel 4 digital TV commercials; I think he could still do Max Headroom!
The new British TV commercials put him in a suit that's too small, don't give him his hair back, and don't put in the silver eye contacts. He looks about 80 years old in them. He's only 4 years older than Jim Carrey so there's no reason he couldn't do it again.
@dhinge Yes but if you think about it, he didn't look as young in the 80's as max headroom, he looked late 30's when he really wasn't that old. so in the commercials they had to make him look old. Also it is to show how far digital age has come.
Matt was on "EUREKA" for the first year or two, then he left, but he came back to the series last year. I hope he's in this season also, returning in July. He's a good actor, but sadly I don't see him doing very much. (He was also in Stephen King's "The Stand".)
good interview! it was ahead of its time.its closer to now that it was then(20 minutes into the future) what a great movie.its on here go watch it.matt is a funny man.
He could have been a Carradine Brother.

It's sad. Jim Carrey is just a less good-looking, worse-sounding, less funny, less nice, over-acting but more successful Matt Frewer 2.0.
