I can't believe the rudeness in many of these comments, and I don't understand why anyone has to be so crude and narrow-minded. Enjoy this virtuosic playing!
She is one of my favorite violinist. I watched her play Saint saens 3rd concerto with Seoul Philharmonic when she was just 15 yrs old from Arirang TV. She was awesome!!
Brilliant cadenza. Phenomenal. It almost sounds as if she made it up on the spot, unlike other performance where it sounds rehearsed. I like her energy and vitality. This woman has so much potential and charisma.
Wow people! It sounds good. Stop making comparisons and just enjoy the fact that this girl can play pieces that we will never come close to playing as well. Everybody has the God-given right to bring something new to a piece of repertoire and I don't think she did. To me, she played it just as good as every other soloist out there today. There's no difference. So, I guess that doing pretty good.
JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP IF YOU DON'T PLAY... Seriously, if you don't know this Cadenza then shut the fuck up... You don't even know the freakin music... Amazing -- nice coverup erasing your comment to make yourself look less like an idiot...
very very rude-there are so many beethoven cadenzas of which i don't play neither kreisler, neither schneiderhahn,...please don't pretend you play them all hahaha-only the joachim cadenza one has 2 versions allready so you are purely ridiculous!!you make no point whatsoever!! you just go in tilt-stay away from commentpages like these where people express opinions!! people have more respect for music then that vocabulary of yours!
i acknowledge just the fact she reached the final allready-so she will make it as a career without my opinion!-this wonderful part was her best for which her 4th prize is worth it i think (personally not for the other parts with gross error in first mov but who cares)-for the time of playing and pressure is the same for everybody...let me prefer what i want...it is kogan whether you want it or not with all respect for kim
i like kogan's version best.point end of story-especially his joachim cadenza of the first part is unbeatable.i am not here to appreciate your comments with such rich vocabulary. i don't care of these words of low level.
i might lose as you wish but apart from this 3th movement which is awesome "theviolinchannel"removed her first movement which i prefered of kogan's (second as well)-for this part it is awesome very true with an amazing cadenza-about the best there is around-i allways referred to the removed first movement (where she made gross error)and second in the QEC!!
"the difficulty of this beethoven concerto is well inferior to the brahms and tchaikovsky ones."
u definitely used the word "inferior" at least to describe the Beethoven. And yes, there are MANY concertos that don't require nearly the concentration, endurance, or command of the instrument as this.
For these competitions, judges don't care who plays the hardest concerto, but who plays their chosen concerto the most successfully. Technical difficulty plays a smaller factor. Ask any judge.
omg are you serious. tchaik is harder than beethoven? those concertos are very difficult, but beethoven requires an incredible level of endurance, concentration, and command that is AT LEAST equal to those concertos if not moreso.
it's fine if u don't like her interpretation, but she certainly pulled off her idea with much more finesse and clarity than most, if not all of the other contestants. also comparing mozart as being inferior to paganini.... really?
You are the dumbest shit out here. Man, you call Beethoven easy? It is way more exposed than Tchaikovsky and requires greater technical finesse... Man u know nothing -- amazing how people just say shit to say shit. There is a reason where Beethoven is always taught before Sibelius and Brahms... it's demands are that high. Many kids can play Tchaik but not many can pull off the right Beethoven. If any of these finalists played Beethoven, Suyoen would have blown them out of the water... idiot
OMG, shut the hell up already... SHUT THE HELL UP -- I have friends at top conservatories in the US that would fucking put you down so quick you don't even know.... Then put a video up of yourself playing Beethoven -- I'd love to see this, and of course have a hearty laugh. You can be a comic violinist...
listen to kogan's beethoven interpretation so you'll have a reference before you talk-if you don't like kogan also mutter with karajan in 1984 is a reference...they are both on youtube so you can listen, learn and compare yankee...

@kiroualekou mayu kishima should have played the Mt.Everest concerto because her sound was over the top and forced.

She played the best Mozart as well -- it was off the hook... you should see it at the competition website.
