  • the dislike bar is the size of bieber's dick

    ps great movie.

  • the dislike bar is the size of bieber's dick

  • @CroatianCrazyWarrior why is he always mentioned in a video that has nothing to do with him. if you dislike hiw which i really can't figure out considering you dont even know him then why talk about him. i think people like you who put comments like that are obsessed with bieber and jealous.

  • Every synopsis I've ever read about this movie says the town is attacked by 50+ Germans. It seems clear to me that there were more than 50 German Infantry. Jackson's signal is a fist (1000) and a five (500). Capt Miller says (with much chagrin) "15 (as in 1500) ...and change. Hell, 50 nazis are wiped out with the first hawkins mines and initial 30 cal bursts.

  • band of brothers and saving private ryan are the best movies!!!

  • the 12 people who disliked was on the german side

  • @Mcplkelly damn

  • I'm really glad I saw this 1.5 times in the theatre... saw this battle scene twice, and it was awesome both fucking times.

  • I'm doing my essay about Saving private Ryan. I compare it with the historical through. The tanks are used for the public entertainment. There were only 1400 tigers throughout the war, so it would be very unlikely that there were 2 tigers within the attackforce of the 2de SS (it says 1ste SS on the flanks of it, a little mistake ;p).

  • @ndkblackhawk I'll save you time, no Tigers saw service in the American sector during the entirety of the battle for Normandy. The Tigers were attached to SS units, almost all of which were fighting the British around Caen. A full 70-80% (depending on the period) of German tanks were stationed against the British and Canadians around Caen due to its being more ideal tank ground. Most allied tanks were deployed in the British sector as well.

  • 2:59 sticky bomb fail

  • @ilikepicklesandcheez

    Seriously. My reaction: "OH! SHIT!"

  • Tiger has a T34 chassis, and its impossible to fire into the drivers compartment through the front slit as it has some sort of reinforced glass in it and is not just a hole.

No fighting force would just wander into a town in column with tanks upfront before scouting it out first, not doing so would result in what happened in the clip.

  • how come there hasn't been any new war movies recently

  • 4.40 theres something not rite about that tiger :/

  • @madeinlarne

Thats because it's built over a Russian T-34, another WW2 tank.

There is only 1 original and operational Tiger tank in this world today, the "Tiger" you see in this film looks very fake ha.

  • does everyone know that the last battle didnt happen?

  • Yeah, SS-Tank Div.; perhaps LSSAH or Das Reich full of eastern front vets running around like chicken... :-D

Man,no tank commander would react like this when he knows there is enemy movement in the area...even it was an ambush, SS-Inf. would spread out immediately after the first shots and take the flanking houses easy with a150 vs 30 advantage...

if you want to see the real war search the tank battle of cologne here on yt ...

  • American propaganda bullshit ...

  • 3:00 hahahahaha OWNED

  • "The Victors". If you get a chance to catch it on cable, check it out....better than this...

  • this is the better war of movie i llike the panzer tank is awesome

  • 3:00 omg man

  • the killing is the best and the best war movie ever

  • this was a great movie i just wish it was more realistic. im pretty sure the germans were some of the best trained troops at the time and im sure they wouldnt just roll into a town walking like a bunch of oblivious buffoons. like when the americans shoot off the browning and the germans keep running into it? im pretty sure the nazis wouldnt have ben able 2 conquer most of europe with those tactics lol

  • @yunggunz31 They were pretty much kicking ass before the american planes came! What else would you expect they do? Blow up every random building hoping that theres troops hiding?

  • @mattpat1989 they werent kicking ass at all. half the damn division got blown apart by sticky bombs, mortar shells and brownings. and no they wouldnt blow every building up they would search every building before running in front of it like blind idiots

  • @yunggunz31 Its hollywood tactics.

The battle itself is more of a "tribute" to the 18-man Intelligence and Reconnaissance Platoon from the 99th Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge which fought off 500 German paras for 16 hours on December 16th, 1944. About 97 Germans were killed or wounded before they withdrew. No tanks though.

  • This movie is actually kinda weird, it only shows the american side pwn the shit out of the germans, but it was actually the germans pwning the americans. the americans almost lost

  • 4:13 the german yells pingas

  • mhh the sound is soooo low

  • pause at 3:18 tom hanks works for bungie o.o

  • What was the name of reiben's gun?

  • @QCBT its a BAR: its kind of a semi heavy machine gun:) I believe its a 20 clip magasine it has:)

  • @audimetallica Automatic Rifle

  • @D3L7A18 yeah;)

  • @audimetallica its shortened for Browning Automatic Rifle

  • love playing this map on darkest hour wwii pc game. they remade it soooo perfect

  • Cigarette smokin', Ammo loadin', Fuckin' American GI's

  • hahaha 2:58 gets me every time

  • greatest movie of all war movies once a soldier of ww2 told me "This is the closest movie to ww2 itself" he told me to call him corperal hert

  • when I first saw the tank at 1:09... I was relieved, but i knew it wasn't spielberg's style... steven is just awesome...

  • i would wet my pants if naizs where looking thorw the window

  • Yeah, Canadians and British had to deal with the SS and protect the american flank.

  • 2:58 is funny every damn time...

  • @MurderWorship90

    XD thats fucked up rofl

  • but there are panthers ;))

  • jackson(the sniper ) says tiger tanks two of them ,panzer tanks two of them...no panthers

  • @ju88ff The Americans never fought against Tigers in Normandy , the other vehicle shown is a Panzerjaeger the Marder III H . It is German and not Italian . And there were no Marder III ausf.H in Normandy they were the ausf.M , the upgraded version.

  • I was wrong it is a Marder III, it's the Ausf. M model, not the H. It looks pretty similar to the Marder I, that's why I made the mistake. I corrected myself and said it wasn't Italian in my second post.

American infantry never fought against Tigers in Normandy. Some American tankers have encountered Tigers. The British found a way to take on the Tiger with the Sherman "Firefly".

  • So sorry!!! Didn't mean to flag it! Damn.

  • 2:59 poor bastard!

  • It's very sad ; /

  • its a movie

  • The Soldier's name is Timothy E. Upham, not apem.

  • the 1 good thing upham does is shoot the treacherous lying dog at the end

  • apem :D eu skil

  • 2:59, dumbass.

  • @trenton1789 LMFAO XDDD

  • tiger tanks 2 of them panzer tanks 2 of them infantry 50 plus change

  • all of them:the leibstandarte,12 hitlerjugend, das reich were on britain and canadian front line

  • Yeah, the ones in the film are Das Reich. The people behind the film stated though that they know it is historically inaccurate, they were just taking artistic license.

  • everything okey but by that date of the "battle"june 15 there were any ss division on american front line

  • man i just wish upham coudl of went up the stairs and fuckin rape dat german who has stabbing the other dude.. .i relly hate dat part

  • you know why uoham is running because if you hafe the 30 cal. ammo at the mg and you die the ammo is lost.

  • He blew up D:

War is horrible guys. The men who fight for us deserve everything :)

  • the one with the BAR is the best

  • Look at this, Tthis was a real war guys fought, u see the wars of now they justtrow a bomb...

  • Yes, Amen. THE GREATEST WAR MOVIE OF ALL TIME.

  • i feel the only thing missing is the feeling of hatred for the enemy,i saw fear, shock, and other things but not the bitter hatred of the enemy exept when wade got killed

  • @LDis1 ya MOVIE but to me BoB is better

  • @LDis1 ..........not the greatest war movie ever made, just the best battle scenes ever made, Cross of Iron much better story and says more about war and how it effects the mind than most do and the battel scenes are good and the T34 / 85s in it are real.

  • NICE QUALITY:D

  • now that was a war ''actually fighting against intelligant enemy

  • I dont know WTF they got Upham running around with the .30 cal ammo for. They should have just divided that suff up between the MG teams before the battle and the fncking AG could carry it.

  • yes thats something i dont understand, too

  • extension of band of brothers...

  • i like this better than the dday scene

  • There's an intense buildup to the action in this. D-day just throws you right into the thick of it.

  • Nah, those are panzers, mate. Supposed to be Marder 3s, tank destroyers.

  • Pause it at 2:59 JUST before the explosion. You'll clearly see that it's nothing but a cotton fabric puppet Haha

  • mostly every movie has tigers in them.... why? what about panzer 4 and 3s etc. tiger wasint that massed produced.... I've never seen pnz 4 in a movie never....

  • but it´s legend

  • i think a panzer 3 was feaured in band of brothers ,but you are right they're hadly ever shown.

  • There was one (A replica I believe) featured at the beginning of Valkyrie.

  • amazed how Tom Hanks could see Pvt Jacksons hand movments on top of the towers

  • 2:59 you stupid turd, all you had to do is put it in the wheel and run, but you failed xD, kinda remembers me that scene in jarhead when one of the private's tries to get up and gets shot in the head, then the sargeant sykes rants on him

  • fubar

  • to me the scene doesnt make sense. if the allies were guarding the bridge..then were the germans trying to take it back? were that trying to take the town? how did they know there were allied troops in the town? were the germans just patroling or on thier way to something else and had to pass through and the allies took advantage of that? can someone explain why the germans were in the town to begin with or why they were told to?

  • they told you before, rommel was wanting this bridge so they could go on to caen and flank the allied armies. they were moving through and then they were ambushed.

  • Not totally sure but I think Rommell had been forced to commit suicide by this time. Due to the assassinate Hitler plot. Not sure anyone know?

  • This battle takes place in early June Rommel left command in late July and commited suicide in September (I think). Also the German soldiers in this battle (members of the 2nd SS Das Reich division) weren't commited until late June and when they were it was against British forces around Caen.

  • the german unit was assigned to the front as they got intel the beachhead was attacked. Although Hitler was asleep, the generals couldn't mobilize the SS panzer regiment just after he woke up. So they got the move order too late when the allied troops have already garrisoned the town. As they made a bate for the germans to go on the middle road, the germans knew there were allies in the town. (it was previously bombarded and unoccupied) so their task was simple. Search and destroy.

  • i think they had to wait for renforecments to come and they were told that germans were comming through

  • This person cut out the scenes before this, but they were explaining there were only two bridges left in the area, and the town was one of them. The Germans were trying to take back the town and bridge so they could retake the beaches of Normandy. The Germans were South of there, and the Allies were North of the town near the beaches. I hope this help you understand it.

  • it was German occupied Europe. The reason they were on the bridge was because it needed to be taken. To outflank the Germans. The reason the germans fought so hard was because taking this bridge also gave them a port in Holland. I think Nidjmegan or something like that. In Modern Warfare bridges are valuable. Imagin eu own the bridge no tanks or ground based reinforcements can cross. U own the ground in other words. Many brave Germans died that day. Full respect.

  • just before the beginning of this scene, You hear the sniper tell them that there is a patrol just going by and as one of the tanks goes, It stops, and then looks down, and then turns down the street, and Thus, Is where this battle starts.

  • why does it say its edited if there is no music on this part anyway

  • american propaganda at its finest!

  • hmm you have a point here I think.....

  • what do you mean "american propaganda" please inform me i dont wanna get pissed for a misinterpretation

  • its putting a face on the "individual" nazi soldier and making them look like they are"evil" and bent on destroying .. (for lack of a better term) ..

good or bad .. (not judging) both sides of the war were fighting for what their country wanted them to fight for .. that is what soldiers do ..

anywhos, my 2 cents on it :)

  • I kinda agree on you. But technically, a lot of Wehrmacht soldiers were forced to fight, not because they wanted to.

  • Just look. We have ~25 paratroopers againt the elite Waffen-SS with probably more than 200 guys and half a dozen tanks. But still, after an for long battle, with the Germans winning, the Yanks still manage to hold until the last second (with the Tiger already on the bridge). And the, all the sudden, their is the reinforcment with planes, tanks, and a shitload of infantry. Typical ending for an american war movie.

  • I don`t really agree with you here, saw on nat gio that when you attack a defended position you need about 3 times more men to win, if in a city like here it goes up to 10 times more so in that light it isnt that weird

  • yes it was held, with good tactics. if you know history you would know that the germans were poor in streets of citys. for instance stalingrad. so its not too unrealistic. and whats wrong with reinforcements coming in

  • Stalingrad was a different thing. And yes, it is unrealistic when hundereds of Americans come from nowhere.

  • its called reinforcements they come from behind the town. as they were called earlier to help them. not unrealistic

  • ...and of cource don't forget the wild killing. They always make the enemy look stupid because they just run into the machine-gun fire (even tough, they saw like 10 guys getting killed right in fron of them).

  • 20 paratroopers vs 2 tigers 1 stug and 100 - 150 panzergrenadiers, this film is crap!

  • not really

more uuneven victories have happened in real life before

in this movie the paratroopers had the element of surprise

after they lost that suprise element they begin to be slaugtered

  • 2:59 pwned

  • am 20 o/o german... and 20 o/o english and 40 o/o american

  • it kinda funny [in a weird way] how tom hanks orders the guy to light thier sticky bombs right after that guy dies at 2:57

  • it was suppost to be a 15 sec fuse but it was a 5 sec

  • yer..i htink he didnt have as much slow fuse on as the others..it hit the short fuse striaght away :S

  • colts stink

    E.A.G.L.E.S. 4 life

  • did anyone else notice how short the first sticky bomb's fuse is compared to the others?

  • I did.

  • yeah thats why he blew up with the sticky bomb

  • It's actually not a real Tiger tank, it was a replica made from a Russian tank model I think.

There's a video on YouTube showing the tank used in this movie.

The reason they used a modified tank was simple; there was no Tiger I which could be driven (there is now).

    Real Tigers are extremely rare.

You can see it's not real by looking at the tracks and suspension of the vehicle (compare it to a real picture of a Tiger I)

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, that is a shame.

    What are you talking about?

  • Tom Hanks: "Just four more kills for that aperture sight!"

  • EAt Shit Nazis

  • Oh I remember the first time I saw this in the theater. That panzer/tiger tank creaking and slow rumbling really frightened the bejeesus out of me.

  • your lucky as hell to have been able to see this in theatres..

  • pfff i had to watch this work of art on ABC with the fucking nesquick and tampon commercials every 20 seconds.

  • You know the British SAS use tampons as part their survival kits (calm down. it's to start fires)? lol. So you never know, those tampons might save you life someday if you join spec. ops.

  • I thought they were for nosebleeds...

  • your soo damn lucky you saw it in theater

did they ever rerelease it in thearter? cuz i heard they did

  • Great tactics by the yanks to use the German tank as a roadblock

  • damn that sux to be the guy that blew up with the bomb

  • 3:17 flaming helmet this is one of my favorite movies

  • The guy with the sticky grenade had a bad day.

  • 2:49 suicide!!!!

  • The way the camera moves with the action is really neat,

  • That p51 with Normandy invasion strips gives me goose bumps

  • The sound of the tanks coming always gave me goose bumps. It doesn't get anymore evil than that.

  • of coarse they are fake. i dont think anyone would do this movie with real bullets

  • Yes i know but in the movie it must seen real..

  • Dude, You are seriously stupid. Of course they're fake sayfoullah. Great observation skills.

  • What a idiot. Ofcourse i know that they are fake. But its a movie, so everything must be real. You know now what i mean? Omg

  • No i dont know what you mean.

Are you saying that they should have killed all of the actors? Your a sick person.

  • pff i think u are 10 or 11 -.-

  • Great comeback. You must be mabye...6, 7 at the most to think they would use actual bullets you iggnorant retard...

  • OMG, its a movie you moron. Everything must be realistic!!!

  • You know what? Just, Shut up. No it doesnt. You have no conceivable idea of what you are talking about. Just, shut up.

  • Lol you are a moron. You dont know what you talking about

  • Way to just copy my last comment.

    Very Original.

  • how about a nice nice cup of shut the fuck up? faggots

  • 2:49 ouch

  • Yeah WWII is a horrible event to look at. Many died, and people are still suffering today from the bloodshed. The things the German army carried out were appalling. The more you look at the actions of ordinary people, the more confused you become. There's a book called "Hitler's Willing Executioners." There is no way Adolf could have carried out his plans without the support of his followers. Sorry, but the inhumanity is something that can not be forgotten "Deal with it."

  • I agree i dont know if your a history major like me but did you know about the Wansee protocol, which was passed by leaders such as heichman and others to pass laws to execute jews. Hitlrer had nothing to do with it but the leaders above him assumed it was what he wanted!

  • Hitler did not want to be associated with such a hideous act. You think that Hitler truly didn't know about Auschwich? Come on. Read Hillberg's classic "The Destruction of the European Jews" please.

  • Im sure he knew about the massive killings after but definitely not in person, but he personally was the first one to take rights away from jews such as citizenship except for those who fought in the great war, did not read that i recommend you read "Hist. of holocaust" by Baur and Watts which is pretty interesting covers from diaspora to the gruesome journals.

  • I hate WWII videogames. they sadden me. i dont play them.

  • are you German, I got to thank your people...for fuckking nothing

  • guys in ww2 the fact is america did not want to enter the fray it wasnt there war, that was the american peoples majority thoughts though the president had other thoughts, america did tip the balance in favour for the allies but hardly won the war they merely took part in a grand assault with many nations working together, what won the war hilters idiocy he chose a war on 2 fronts and chose to airfight over britain instead of sending ships to land which would of defeated britain im british btw

  • Actualy tommonius interestingly there was a programme about germans invading england and although under manned and unprepared in many ways our defences where quite good and inland defences were extremley vast. we had plans of our own and in the end they performed a war game and england would have defeated the invaders by blocking them off in the channel with the royal navy and cutting off the invaders on the beach or inland and shell them. bad times for the germans as it would have been horific

  • Why couldnt these troops have retreated from the village again? Its been a while since I seen this movie.

  • they had to hold the bridge there were only 2 or 3 left standing and germans owned the others

  • Patton's Third Army ruled all! Even Field Marshal Rommel admitted that Patton's army was their toughest oppo
