Do you feel that these speakers don't really need room treatment at all? I know that the Decware radials are better for this purpose but do they really need a bit room treatment or special size of the room or not? I'm interested in buying the new ERRs but I don't know if these speakers can do their job perfectly in any place.
I actually used some acoustic foam for higher frequencies as the tweeters are still direct. Also the bass on any speaker regardless of design should still be trapped.
The Radials are an excellent starting point however and require much less attention on the room.
Do you mean that even the radial woofer needs acoustic treatment?
"The Radials are an excellent starting point" I imagine you mean that only with these speakers sound better than conventional ones without acoustic materials.
What is the song & artist? Interesting music =)

Hope that helps a little.
