i think expeditions are the best but thats just my opinion. though you should prolly not buy an 03-06, because those models have some problems. for example my family had an 03 eddie bauer and the AC didn't really work, and some coil thing in the engine kept on breaking.

The power running boards break easily. My moms friend has an Explorer Eddie Bauer with the power running boards and they broke after a year. Now they don't go up.

My story is true about the Expeditions in the shop all the time. My mom has over 180,000 miles on her 2000 Yukon and it has been nothing but reliable to us.

@bg1379 expeditions do come a police package called the SSV...they dont do any lowering kits because it has the 4 wheel independent suspension and a better track record for off road service. thats why the USFS uses them.

you're 100% right we have a 2000expedition and a 2003 chevy tahoe and the tahoe burns way more gas then the expedition but the tahoe is smaller then the expo and has less miles but burns a lot of gas

Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ would show this vehicle up. it has a 6.2L V8 putting out roughly 400 horse power. Plus it sits up a bit higher.

@GeneralMotors2009 then they dropped the motor one year later because it didnt make a bit of difference because in a motortrend test the expy's transmission was better and got better MPG towing. It still out ran the thing towing....its all about effiency. as far as sitting higher the ground clearance is the same between the two but keep in mind the approach angles of the tahoe is several degrees less because of how low it sits(because it was too easy to roll over in previous versions)

I cant wait till april when my expedition limited in black shows up. ITs gunna be so nice. All black instead of a chrome grill its black and instead of the side things i cant remember the name atm for some reason are black instead of tan like in this video.Cannot wait. And the expedition can still tow over 9,200 pounds which is 100 pounds less than the dodge ram hemi 5.7.

I honestly think that the Expedition is better than the tahoe. The Ford has a power rear seat that folds into the ground, which is nice. It has an independent rear suspension, a true air ride suspension. Ford beats chevy anytime of the day!

smaller yes but less reliable? how do you figure? my mom had her 01 tahoe since she bought it new. the only thing that broke was the digital climate controls light went out. the third row seat is smaller, people want irs for a truck why? ill tell you what. my 2500 suburban has been going off road since it was new. my friends sisters husband bought a 09 expedition . we went camping and he bought his boat along with us. the irs broke so guess who had to tow it back? the expi is still a good truck.

funny that you should say that. i seen a sequoia pulling a smaller boat up the altamont pass and could barely do that. the highest towing capacity on the market thats not diesel is the 20001-2006 suburban 2500. GM claims it tows 10,500 but ive gotten upto 12,000lbs.
