It's kind of a lame commercial, but there's nothing wrong with Detroit artists supporting Detroit businesses. The Four Tops recorded this really quick and got some bank for it. Not all that bad it you want my opinion...
You are correct, the Tops play to thousands of fans all the time. They did this because it was a Detroit business they felt like doing an advertisment for.
I actually really like this commercial. I think the jingle sounds great! I live across the border in Windsor, and this is one of my current favorite Detroit based commercials!
I just wish someone on YouTube would upload my all-time favorite Detroit based commercial (which also happens to be for pizza); Le-Van Hawkins Pizza Hut - the one where he claims his pizza is both "crusty" AND "lusty"!!!
I want a happy's Pizza in my town! I bet the grease and fat content of their food could coat an engine block and that's bad. But IMO if food is bad for you, it HAS to taste great. How could 9 out of 10 Truckers be wrong? I'm sure that 10th trucker was too sleep depravated and wacked on prescriptions and alcohol to even know what he was voting for anyways. **rant over**
Well, they're still living in Detroit, they're in the process of recording a new album (so their not on tour). Maybe they had some downtime, and got bank for it.

The Four Tops continue to tour across North America. I highly doubt they're hurting for cash. I think they just like the food there.
