I was on the street at the south end of the runway when he was pouring the coal to it and spooling up the engines. It was pretty impressive to see and hear. I was right under it when it came off the end. The tail was barely 15 feet off the runway as he pulled up. Helluva aircraft, great engines.

According to the National Papers here in the UK, there were passengers on board, mostly airline execs and their families. The pilot was initially given a pat on the back on board, but when the video was shown to the same exec later, he decided that the pilot had taken too big a risk with a brand new, multi-million dollar aircraft, and was fired.
