@toonlink51 Both Trigun and FFXIII (Which odd enough I love both) have alot of emotional music cues. JRPG's and Anime both have some common traits when it comes to the music is made for them. Both have alot of character themes, emotional themes for deaths or just melancholy scenes, super hyper themes and battle themes. Other genres in Japan and Western games have themes as well but I notice Anime and JRPG have a odd bond (Though I admit I'm much more of a gamer than a otaku).

This show is really good and I love this song... but really, how can people put shows like Cowboy Bebop on a 'top anime' list with no mention of Wolf's Rain (I was reading through earlier posts)? Cowboy Bebop had no character development and the arcing storyline was so thin it reminded me of the Real Ghostbusters. Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, Wolf's Rain, all had great arcing storylines.

@davidlubea19 If you want deep stuff you could watch Death Note or Darker Than Black, but keep in mind that these two are way darker then the ones you mentioned. There is always Hunter x Hunter (classic) and that one is rather long too, if you want that. I'm personally a huge fan of Miyazakis movies, so I think we might have similar taste. You could also check out Samurai Champloo, same guy who made Cowboy Bebop did this one. Good luck searching :)

I took a trip to arizona once and in the middle of nowhere there was this anime store and i found this sound track and bought it. It made my trip amazing. :3
A wonderful series that brought its viewers some closure. That alone is more than most shows can do for the viewer nowadays. Every popular series seems to go on for hundreds of episodes, keeping its viewers coming back with cliffhanger after cliffhanger, and filler sagas that continue for ages.
Trigun didn't need to do that. Were there cliffhangers? Sure. But the show didn't rely on them; the story stood on its own, and it paced itself very well. I'll always love this series.
I also want to fit Ef: A Tale of Memories in there somewhere. I'd probably put it between Zero no Tsukaima and Death Note, but I didn't want Zero no Tsukaima to come off the list.
You kno what youll never find a anime series like trigun that show is unique (in my opinion) when adult swim first came out it did have some of the best shows to offer but now it's not how it used to be T-T so i dont do tv much anymore i just watch my anime online...

My favorite Animes: Trigun, SDF Macross, Case Closed, Ruroni Kenshin (haven't seen much, but it's good), first season of pokemon (as with the games, gets worse with each addition) DBZ is pretty good.
of those, I'd say trigun is the best (though i haven't seen SDF Macross, and I DO want to). I recommend you watch Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, and Ghost in the Shell. I also recommend (but not so enthusiastically) Samurai Champloo, Last Exile, and maybe Neon Genesis Evangelion (it's a great anime, but kind of tough to stomach).
Love this song, it makes me feel so happy and peaceful and really stricks up creativity. Trigun has one of my favorite OSTs. ^^
Okay Okay, I'll play along with this game. My favorites are: Rurouni Kenshin (That one was my very first anime, it still kicks butt.) Code geass, Trigun, Hayate no Gotoku, Arai, Nui, Lucky star, Azumanga Dioh, Black cat, and Di gi Charat (It's so old! XD)
My favorite shows of all time (*note NOT necessarily what I believe to be BEST just shows that I'm up for watching no matter what my mood is and can enjoy casually)-- Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Panic! (the whole franchise including Fumoffu and TSR) Black Lagoon, Azumanga Daioh!, Samurai Champloo, Noir (one of the most overlooked series in my opinion), and Bleach (look I know Bleach is inconsistent and when at a low point it pretty much sucks but I can't stop watching it), and Trigun
Cowboy Bebop is my favorite. I'm more for the old school anime more so then garbage like "Naruto". (Yes, I think it's garbage, but that's just my opinion.)
But in honesty, anime back in the day had more thought behind it, or that's what I believe anyway. :)

@Rezindez Sorry I missed this one to respond to; well they don't actually kill them they cleanse or purify them to be put back properly into the soulstream or something, only Quincy or those who have the intent to utterly destroy their existence can actually kill Hollows.
@metalgear8871 although admittedly,it doesn't really take much to be better than Bleach. Bleach is bland/boring as hell,there isn't much character development at all and any trace of character development was tossed out the window as soon as the "Rukia Execution" arc starts,where the show just becomes all about fighting. plus the show constantly recycles plot elements in every story arc.
I'm not dissing Trigun though. this show is one of my favorite anime,and is way too underrated.
@TheSlickAndroid, you know honestly, I think Bleach could have been legendary if they'd compressed it into about Trigun's length, Bleach in 26 episodes would have been so awesome, take out the filler, introduce a hell lot of cool elements without retarding the pacing, no "still in the Soul Society" arc, just a reasonable length of story with decent almost forced character evolution due to the timespan of the show.
@Momentum139 well, honestly it doesn't matter about length(though some shows REALLY overstay their welcome),it matters on how good the story,writing and characters are. Back when Bleach first started it was pretty good. Now its even more generic then Naruto(which is really saying something). speaking of which,Naruto also was actually okay,when it first started.and the Soul Society arc(or Rukia Execution arc) took FOREVER. I literally passed two grades in middle school,and it still wasn't over.
@TheSlickAndroid I agree time length has nothing to do with how good a show is I've been watching One Piece since the show began and I love how the show has progressed even though it tends to take forever I like to think of anime time length as a roller coaster the longer it takes to get up the more you enjoy the instant before the drop
I agree with you that Naruto suks, but Bleach is just a huge copy of many other successful Animes/Mangas. If I had to rate them DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, Lupin the 3rd, Ruroni Kenshin, Case Closed, and Yu Yu Hakusho.
cant say i have room to make judements no, I dont tend to waste time watching things or listening to things that dont apeal to me. I most certainly dont comment on ways to improve something when i have no idea how the person who made it wanted it to come accross, This isnt your music nor is it a cover of your music to say "way too much percussion" implies you know more about the song than its creator, you need a clue

Okay Okay, I'll play along with this game. My favorites are: Rurouni Kenshin (That one was my very first anime, it still kicks butt.) Code geass, Trigun, Hayate no Gotoku, Arai, Nui, Lucky star, Azumanga Dioh, Black cat, and Di gi Charat (It's so old! XD)

My favorite shows of all time (*note NOT necessarily what I believe to be BEST just shows that I'm up for watching no matter what my mood is and can enjoy casually)-- Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Panic! (the whole franchise including Fumoffu and TSR) Black Lagoon, Azumanga Daioh!, Samurai Champloo, Noir (one of the most overlooked series in my opinion), and Bleach (look I know Bleach is inconsistent and when at a low point it pretty much sucks but I can't stop watching it), and Trigun

Cowboy Bebop is my favorite. I'm more for the old school anime more so then garbage like "Naruto". (Yes, I think it's garbage, but that's just my opinion.)
But in honesty, anime back in the day had more thought behind it, or that's what I believe anyway. :)

Although, as I recall wasn't Trigun one of the first shows on adultswim? I'll assume it was, sense I actually enjoy it. Haha. ;]

@Rezindez Sorry I missed this one to respond to; well they don't actually kill them they cleanse or purify them to be put back properly into the soulstream or something, only Quincy or those who have the intent to utterly destroy their existence can actually kill Hollows.

@metalgear8871 although admittedly,it doesn't really take much to be better than Bleach. Bleach is bland/boring as hell,there isn't much character development at all and any trace of character development was tossed out the window as soon as the "Rukia Execution" arc starts,where the show just becomes all about fighting. plus the show constantly recycles plot elements in every story arc.
I'm not dissing Trigun though. this show is one of my favorite anime,and is way too underrated.

@TheSlickAndroid, you know honestly, I think Bleach could have been legendary if they'd compressed it into about Trigun's length, Bleach in 26 episodes would have been so awesome, take out the filler, introduce a hell lot of cool elements without retarding the pacing, no "still in the Soul Society" arc, just a reasonable length of story with decent almost forced character evolution due to the timespan of the show.

@Momentum139 well, honestly it doesn't matter about length(though some shows REALLY overstay their welcome),it matters on how good the story,writing and characters are. Back when Bleach first started it was pretty good. Now its even more generic then Naruto(which is really saying something). speaking of which,Naruto also was actually okay,when it first started.and the Soul Society arc(or Rukia Execution arc) took FOREVER. I literally passed two grades in middle school,and it still wasn't over.

@TheSlickAndroid I agree time length has nothing to do with how good a show is I've been watching One Piece since the show began and I love how the show has progressed even though it tends to take forever I like to think of anime time length as a roller coaster the longer it takes to get up the more you enjoy the instant before the drop

I agree with you that Naruto suks, but Bleach is just a huge copy of many other successful Animes/Mangas. If I had to rate them DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, Lupin the 3rd, Ruroni Kenshin, Case Closed, and Yu Yu Hakusho.

cant say i have room to make judements no, I dont tend to waste time watching things or listening to things that dont apeal to me. I most certainly dont comment on ways to improve something when i have no idea how the person who made it wanted it to come accross, This isnt your music nor is it a cover of your music to say "way too much percussion" implies you know more about the song than its creator, you need a clue
