@Mopar4life1995 Dodge had a long history of the "Dodge Ram" hood ornament. I think that mascot was well chosen...it certainly had the qualities of durability, sure footedness, and persistence! What more can you ask for! Thanks! :) Jack
I'm 13 and my dodge has the three windows its called the pilot house its very special to have one and mine has original brass and copper keys for the gas cap and ignition and all original including paint color
@1950dodgefan That's great that you have a three window...and it still has original pieces. Nice to start off your experience with cars and trucks with such a great example! Thanks! :) Jack
Its either a 48, 49. or 50 truck (door gives it away). The body line goes all the way to door jam whereas the 51 thru 53 bodyline stopped well before the jam. Otherwise its hard to say which year it is. Thanks for posting this.
Having an old truck is a good way to advertise your business and I assume that is what this person is doing to promote his boat business and that is why there are multiple hiches. White walls really dress up these old gems.
@cheddyrod Hey, Chester! If I had a business, this is how I would advertise it locally! I think it speaks a lot for the owner of the business...the owner has an interest in mechanical things, and will spend the time to get things right...a pretty good recommendation for the business, methinks! Thanks! :) Jack
Beautiful truck. There was a plumber that lived in my neighborhood that had a Dodge like this with a utility box mounted behind the cab. Ah, memories. Thanks Jack for posting.
@55lincoln Hey, Warren! That is the great thing about seeing these gems..a window to memories of our own youth...when these trucks were common on the street. Thanks! :) Jack
@robertpina99 Hey, Robert! I'm not sure what the retail price was for a Dodge pickup at the time...my guess is that Ford and Chevy would be less expensive. I think they had the edge on quantity, and probably lower cost per unit. Thanks! :) Jack
@drewerz01 Hey, Mike! So true! The hood ornaments were really works of art in many cases. Their rigid mounting was pedestrian unfriendly, though..and led to all those spring loaded ornaments of the 70's..and finally their demise. So goes another tradition down the tubes. Thanks! :) Jack
@k73mrviking That's great! Dodge trucks need to be preserved..they were very durable for the time and they built an owner loyalty that exists to today! Thanks! :) Jack

I don't believe my grandfather ever owned
a pickup truck like this. It was probably far
too expensive for a Texas cotton picker.
