  • i loved shows like this they were great ahhh i love bein a 90's kid :) but i gotta admit recently cartoons have been improving they've been good in their own way =] for example adventure time and regular show =D

  • Was anyone else disappointed that they left this show on a cliffhanger?

  • thnx for bringing me back so many great memories!!

  • OMG I REMEMBER WATCHIGN THIS WHEN I WAS 11.

  • That show was awesome :(

  • i love how that green monster gets owned during the song

  • Bobby Hill=Rusty? =o

  • @xSsoldierx Lol, yeah, Spinelli from Recess too, that's what I thought of.

  • i watched this show as a kid and remember that it was better than any chartoon on the air to this day some of the ones they make now is like 10 year olds smoking some crack or something and imagning all of this

  • Reflects the good old American Nationalism and Sci-Fi classics. But I have to say, starting to watch this after Astroboy, I can definately see the corrolaries. But I am at least happy that Astroboy lives up to its success to the American public--with the appropriate translations and all.

  • @UniversalVision I just wish the movie hadn't shat all over it's legacy

  • @tripdefect87 I know... I was like, "Dr. Tenma is a BAD GUY?!" LOL. Nick Cage wouldn't have known otherwise, but then again I think he weighed the worth more than the infamy among Astrofans. He gets paid anyways.

  • big guy sounds like tom hanks almost, however, i believe it is his younger brother, jim hanks though.

  • @Montesama i heard big guys voice and thought of the whopper... His voice is in every berger king commercial i can remember.

  • Hearing that theme after years, I have to say that I miss those days back then.

  • Rusty is that "peppy little spit fuck" of a girl from Recess! Love it!

  • Sounds like bobby from king of the hill

  • This is probably my favorite adaptation of any Frank Miller work. It's not only clever and fun but on some different levels. For example, you might not have noticed it but Big Guy's dialogue is in fact a satirical comment on old "American first"/wholesome type heroes. But that's ok because it's presented in such a way that you can laugh at either.

Oh and the theme song kicks ass.

  • get rid of the ads

  • get rid of the ads

  • I love this show so damn much!

  • I know everyone says it, but honestly they don't make cartoons like they used to. Not like it matters anymore to me, but still...

  • @tokinblckgie It seems that they're starting to come out of their funk. I mean, Sym-Bionic Titan's solid. So will Young Justice from what I've seen. Ben 10 and Generator Rex have their own quirky charm.

But the volume ain't there though. Tha'ts just a couple shows and they're all on Cartoon Network. Nickelodeon used to be a heavy hitter with cartoons. And Disney Channel too. But now they stick everything on their "Toon" channels, but not everyone gets those.

  • nigga Rusty ugly man

  • i just realized the one who played rusty also played spinelli on Recess

  • I remember I used to watch this on Fox kids when i was younger.. every day after School.. Then one day it didnt' come on anymore.. no re-runs,, no nothing.. Wonder what every happened.

  • @Pendragon1989 I think it may have been cancelled. For some reason American Network excs aren't too fond of Giant Robot Shows

  • Rusty is the Megaman and Protoman love child!

  • God1 I missed this show!!

  • oh man, just watcing this again, i never know how much propaganda this series emulated. lol.

  • its only been 2 minutes and I'm crying/laughing my ass off! This is the 'original' team America right here

  • Unfortunatly, this cartoon didn't do so well. I want Sony to release the whole 26 episodes on DVD!

  • wow so graphic i never noticed... those guys melted in silent screaming motion...

  • Now that i watch this VERY HIGH it kicks even more ass

  • American Astro Boy?

  • man this show is sooooo pro america! It's awesome!

  • @PLURscopeZ

Big Guy was created in 1959 by some comic book company. The whole point of the Big Guy was to be a humanoid tank that would fight the atrocities of the Cold War, specifically those from Soviet Russia.

Later would come Gigantor from Japan in 1963, and people to this day say that Gigantor was the first, but Big Guy was.

In my opinion, Big Guy looks and performs the best too.

  • @KanineKruizer Wow, that's really interesting. Thanks for that. It really went well for it's times

  • 4:41 isnt that the drill sergeant from full metal jacket?

  • Ah... the days when cartoons weren't sloppy flash animations and actually had substance...

  • Every time Big Guy's guns pop out in the opening, I cheer. Man, that is COOL!

  • Wait! Go back to that Target commercial! That girl was HOT!

  • This generation needs shows like these again.

  • @zepyhrantes You speak the truth bratha

  • lol this is scary cheeky for 99

  • This show is like one big PSA XD

  • sounds like king of the hill lol

  • By the gods! its liberty prime!

  • man how i forget how corny dis show is

  • calamari yum

  • dang he proects wholesome glasses of milk lol

  • Who hates the got damn ads?

  • thank you :)

  • why is the bomb and the tank shot sounds like a pistol shot?

  • fail! rust had fail to fight alone lol.

  • It was shows like this that marked the end of an era in my opinion. Creativity with Saturday morning cartoons started going down the tubes not long after this. I consider myself lucky to have been born just early enough to have been able to watch, remember, and still enjoy the cartoons of my childhood. I would be very surprised if there are any cartoons anymore that a child would want to watch again ten to fifteen years later. That is the age we live in. SAD DAYS!

  • @darkcodemonkey And whatever happened to Saturday morning cartoons? All I ever see now is incredibly sucktacular, and all the watchable stuff is a day late.

  • @darkcodemonkey You and me both.

  • @darkcodemonkey Man i know what your saying i miss the old toonami and saturday morning cartoons

  • @darkcodemonkey this show is/was horrible...

  • "No Not-Of-This-Earth, Surgical-Probe-Weilding Invader's gonna deprive this planet's children and their growing bones of even ONE glass of wholesome milk!"

Hahahaha, oh god. That's why I love this show.

  • This is how cartoons should be, awsome. It's like if Liberty Prime and Astro Boy had their own tv show.

  • omg!!! i used to watch this every day after school in 2nd grade lol....cartoons these days suck....i feel bad for the new generation...kids born in 2000s

  • Nostalgia to the max. I love you.

  • FUCKING HELL...those are some good memroires

  • Is it me, or has cartoons now an days just gone south.

  • daaaang this was made in 1999 and the guy who plays dr. donavan now plays bill from king of the hill and the guy who plays rusty is bobby from king of the hill too.....that is sooo lame! they were great here and bam then they went to play characters in lame a** king of the hill.

    boo!

  • @Montesama Lolz and the tick ~_^

  • i remember seeing this on fox, this, digimon, batman TAS, medabots and transformers RID were the best cartoons that i saw when i was younger. Where did all the creativity go now.I mean live shows on cartoon network, nickeolden dont have no cartoons, diseny has hanna momtana all over it, and kids wb became the CW for kids WTF is going on these days.

  • @Montesama hint:one shall stand and one shall fall

  • I loved this show when I was younger.

  • This and Godzilla the Series were my two favorite shows back in the day!^^

  • i remeber this on abc kids or something along with xmen, hulk, power rangers

  • I totally forgot the monkey could talk!

  • Bet this is shit

  • @Montesama sounds like TJ from recess

  • Wasn't this show a tribute to Astroboy?

  • dosent it just take u back cartoons just arent the same anymore

  • This show... still exists?

  • why again did youtube add advertisments?

  • man i cant rem if i first read the comic for this or saw the cartoon but it still kicks ass

  • oh man i thought i'd never see this again! thx crackle! you rock!

  • such cheesy lines from big guy!! XD

  • Oh hell finding this again is so awesome. Loved this as a kid.

  • i used to always watch this when i was lottle lol it looks so different funny how things change as u get older

  • I also remember how rusty never figured out that big guys actually needs a pilot to use him -w-

and also how rusty actually become ru-whoops spoiler alert =.=

  • Man I remeber that me and my big bro used to watch this every day it comes on, man....

I love the good ol' days

  • what happing to good tv and movie they r rare now

  • Great cartoon!!! Why is it now on DVD yet?

  • @slagit

Unfortunatly, Sony won't release the short series onto DVD's...yet.

  • @KanineKruizer Maybe not, but look around hard enough and there are places to download the entire series with decent quality.

  • how the heck is this 1999 youtube was created in 2005

  • So.... whose idea was it to start this from 101?

  • @finalassault IIRC, This is episode 1. They are're just numbering it oddly. Wikipedia says 101 is the Prod. code

  • it sounds like pjama sam and bobby hill

  • honestly that dwayne guy,and all the other military, guys are idiots, they bust thier asss of for a chocolate coin!,scratch that, evryone in the shows a moron

  • omg i used to watch this show constently when i was little and i just found it again after 10 years

  • i remember watching this when i was four o memories!

  • lol and the monster in 07:12 looks like a over grown gemlin hahaha

  • rusty reminds me of the 50s and fallout 3 lol

  • This is all the product of frank miller, the guy who directed the spirit.

  • the person that does bobby hill's voice... does he do rusty's?

  • yes

  • And the guy who does Dwayne is Tom Hanks brother, Jim Hanks.

  • i've never heard so many catch phrases in my life

  • rusty sounds like spinelli from recess XD

  • The same lady plays all three, Rusty, Spinelli and Bobby Hill

  • @doc2008 no wonder it was familiar, thanx!

  • omg rusty sounds jus like bobby hill lol

  • hell yeah same voice actors i guess

  • o man i loved this cartoon wen i was younger god tv isnt the same anymore =\

  • @marrag1 I hear you, you ever see Ronin Warriors? Just some kick-ass anime from my childhood...

    I remember now, thanx ...Crackle!

  • @Crackle Ronin Warriors was sooo awesome!!!

  • @marrag1 It was a cartoon based on a comic book written by the creator of Sin City :P of course it kicked ass

  • @marrag1 i watched this every day when i was little

  • hahah lol...that creature reminded me of the Gremlins movie.

  • That monster almost looks like Baragon from the Godzilla franchise.

  • anyone notice the monster in the intro (2:15-2:20) has a pecker? these animators are sick

  • omg this takes me back...(i sound old)

  • I can't believe that i remembered this episode.

  • Rusty Sounds like Bobby Hill XD

  • Who is mike?

  • my old favorite tv show. man i miss the 90s

  • same:'( its the 2010 now

  • Is Kevin Conroy voicing the BGY-11?

Wow, I forgot how big-headed Rusty was...

"Ready, rarin' to go." "I'm a pretty darn good robot." "No pain receptors."

  • That sounds a lot like Kevin Conroy.

  • I remember when I first saw this I thought it was totally lame... but then I thought it was awesome.

I'm glad that it's on YouTube.

  • bob hill lol

  • man i remember watchin this when i was like 7 this and the ghostbusters cartoon starship troopers, and action man.those were the days

  • There's a dude on here who uploaded Action Man in its entirety.....brought back memories

  • Lol, one of my childhood shows. Glad I remembered it.

  • 03:00 is that dinosaur thing giving the baby to big guy? I can't tell.

  • @Galactatech

I would watch the shit out of that.

  • lol i loved this show.

  • 2012, lmfao

  • wow, the animation is a lot worse than I remember it o.o

  • Is it possible for Crackle to have just the intro in a separate video file?

  • Such greatness in animation.

  • Indeed, Chosenviper, search on the internet some, the issues were giant sized, to keep with the old school 50's feel, artwork was chisled and gorey as hell. Lot's of shell casings, falling buildings, and open wounds from what I remember =) I may post a pic of the cover Nov1 on my Flickr if you don't find info.

  • Dark hourse made some cool stuff, i gotta say that, as kid i never knew this was a comic, and now, i know it's the same guys that brought us hell boy

  • lol I think they captured big guy's personality alright-- but rusty's kinda annoying

  • .....so the kid is like an American astro boy?

  • yea but a little more awesome

  • Yes, but COMBINED with Tetsujin 28. Kinda.

  • god i remember barely anything about this show but i know its awesome

  • lol, i love this show when i was a little boy hahah

  • This is great.

  • The comic books were actually quite violent.

  • This is based on a comic book?

  • Lol man sure is cool.

  • One of the best animated shows ever.

  • you have to be shitting me

HOW THE FUCK IS THIS ALIVE?!!?

  • I remember watching this and the Godzilla Series on FOX KIDS in the Good Oid Days of the Late 90's

  • is the person that talks for rusty the same person that talks for bobby hill?? :P

  • yes, yes he is. O.O

  • Holy crap i remember this show i thought it was so bad ass when i was a kid

  • yea i remember it too when i would get home from school i would watch it

  • I remember this old show.

  • so i just watched a horror preview on a flippin kids cartoon video how ridicoulos

  • God I forgot what a great series this was. I really wish this series exploded in popularity. Its so well written and animated. But this was from a by gone era of the Saturday Morning Cartoon Block. How I will miss it. Now most kids cartoons are so poorly written and animated. Unless its on cable, its usually junk...

  • this is the best show ever. big guy is so bad ass

  • "Thank Henry Ford for standardized parts"

BAHAHAHA I would have never understood that as a kid hahahaha

  • This is episode 101? Where's episode 1?
