  • Where are you guys located? Im deff impressed with this video

  • @37Jordank there located just outside north salem indiana

  • i have an 05 cummins, what would i need to do to get it to do what the one in this vid does? the turbo spool thing

  • how can you just turn up the boost that doesnt make sense

  • @118hellrider

if you look up a diagram on how a variable geometry turbo or variable vane turbo work it'll better describe in depth how they function and how they are able create more boost and act as both a smaller charger and larger charger

  • @docofswank87 i somewhat understand how a variable vane works just not how you can turn up boost whit a knob without reving the engine. guess im headin to google

  • @118hellrider Variable Geometry Turbines change the housing volume with a ring with vanes on it that extends to reduce turbine housing volume which increases backpressure raising EGTs which will cause the turbine to spin faster from the increased heat generation. likewise retracting the the ring will increase the turbine volume while reducing the effects of backpressure on the turbine limiting turbine speed at higher exhaust gas loads.

  • whats a ball park price for al these performance mods on this truck

  • what size tip is that?

  • there is a 6.0 powerlessjoke in the background listen to the up and down of the turbo whistle when the cummins stays steady???

  • @hghhoskins

considering I've drove the truck for 2 years now and I was there the guy adjusting the "knob" in the seat of the truck. I can assure you there was NOT a 6.0 anywhere in the vacinity of this video shoot.

  • Would this turbo fit on a 03 cummins?

  • DAMN that turbo is loud!

  • @michrider

    I don't understand your post...

  • geez, wtf is that thing idling at?

  • Super B special is a 64.5/71/14 and 650hp is very possible with that turbo.. But it will never sound as badass as the VNT garretts do!

  • You guys need to update the website bad!!!!!!! lol I'm gonna call Caleb the next time I get a day off.. Whenever that may be. I'm interested in what you guys can do for my 01 cummins!!!

  • Alright Brayden, where can I get one and a controller for an 01 cummins??

  • i dont get what this is for ? anyone care to explain ?

  • @PAID2BSAVAGE Its an aftermarket vgt turbo on a cummins that didn't come with a vgt. Just some performance stuff.

  • Is that Love's truck?

  • @sexibassplaya123456

    yes it is

  • It's nothing like the super b s300. You'll never hit 650hp with a super b

  • @BraydenFleece can i put this turbo on my 90 non ic 12valve using an adapter for the flange and your controller to run the vgt?

  • @BraydenFleece anything is possible with nitrous :)

  • So it is basically the same thing as a bd super b special except with a variable exhaust??

  • who do i need to get in touch with to talk about putting a set up close to this one on my 2007?

  • who do i need to get in touch with to talk about putting a set up close to this one on my 2007?

  • is it runing a 2 gen manifold?

  • @RM250D8rzr

sounds like a 3rd gen. its too raspy when driving too be a 2nd gen manifold.

  • @EasternAggie 2 gens are more raspy

  • @RM250D8rzr

no the second gen manifold have a much more smooth tone. yeah the 3rd gens do have a deeper tone at idle at below 2k rpm, but when you start putting a load on the engine, especially at high rpm, the deepness goes away and I've even heard popping noises.

all the way through the RPM range, 2nd gen manifolds (center dump) have an even tone. its probably not quite as deep as that of a 3rd gen manifold (end dump), but it is more consistent in its sound

  • @RM250D8rzr

well the 3rd gens have a deeper sound at idle and below 2k rpms. but when you start putting a load on the engine, especially at high rpms, the deepness goes away and it becomes raspy, and ive even heard popping on quite a few 3rd gens.

the 2nd gen manifolds (center dump) have a much more predicable sound, it remains smooth all throughout the rpm range, although not quite as deep.

listen to the video of this truck title "20mph roll" and you can cleary hear the 3rd gen sound

  • @EasternAggie im trying to decide what manifold i like more lol. i love the deep sound but i love the high rpm sound of the 2 gen manifold.

  • @RM250D8rzr

i saw a video of a 6.7 the other day with a 2nd gen manifold and a big single non-VGT turbo. sounded amazing.

  • @EasternAggie hey can you give me the link to that viedeo that sounds interesting!! thank's!

  • i want this

  • how much would it cost to put this setup on my 5.9?

  • that s sweet

  • cool, where can you buy that intake?

  • what kind of intake is this?

  • @ktm781

    it's a Mac intake

  • Is the knob/potentiometer for controlling the peak set boost or for manually controlling boost while driving? I'm interested in a retrofit on a 12valve but I wanna set it and forget it, not baby sit it. Can you do that with this box?

  • you guys are finally done with this then?sweet! So this isnt a stock cummins vnt?what are the stock specs for theholset 5.9 vnt?

  • My truck has actually been done since July, which is this truck in the video

  • one of the coolest videos i know of. brayden, you'll probably be gettin a call in about 3 years or so so i can get a setup like this lol.

got to graduate from college and get a job first lol

also is this truck running a dual disk clutch or what?

  • SB 3600pp dual disc

  • Thats sick ass truck. Ever go to the drag strip?

  • what do you usually run the boost at?

  • u might want to cleant those battery posts lookin nasty

  • they weren't that bad, but I did clean 'em

  • meanwhile, I can't wait to get mine on!!!

  • So the engine's computer does most of the work and the TurboBrake module overrides the commands? In other words, this wouldn't work standalone VNT turbo control on a mechanical engine?

  • they've built their own controller... you can run it on a mechanical engine. you'll have to add a factory MAP sensor (cheap/easy) and you'll need a throttle position sensor. easiest way would be to use factory stuff, but I asked Chase, and he said a standard 0-5 volt TPS could be adapted if you had a better setup. Also needs an RPM input, and they will be adding a drive pressure sensor setup later in order to perfect the exhaust brake function.

  • Interesting. Would you mind posting details in the Superturbodiesel forum?

  • There r settings, Brayden can answer all of that.

If you have the center setting dialed in...the computer is doing all of the work on controlling the vanes. The controller si simply a overide switch.

Brayden, this is where you chime in with your guru skills

  • It's possible yes..

  • duh at 13secs it says, guess thats what happens when you dont pay attention!

Brayden, got a question for you on the 71MM for the LLY,am i able to get a 2.6 inducer on that guy?

  • Comment removed

  • Guess I wouldn't know or anything since I OWN and drive the truck daily. Kinda hard to miss what's under my own hood.

    Nice try chief :)

  • i'm sorry i just reread my earier post and was telling myself duh i should have seen that! i was not implying that you dont know what it is or anything! sorry

  • That'll do no sweat my friend, I was shocked. Considering you're a dmax guy. Ya'll are usually on topa your stuff. Hada take a hack while I could ;)

  • i try to keep up with things but i dont always read all the way thru or jus listen to a clip vs watching it..its that whistle that gets me:)! i'm def interested in a Cheetah for my LLY but i have heard things before that have caused me to worry, have you ever had any problems with this setup and how does it preform for DD?

  • wow that bad boy sounds awesome! so i take it is a 71MM turbo then?

  • now that's the lil feller, 64. Brayden wants to see what the 68 will do.

It's only setting 5 of 9 with the Smarty and trust me setting 7 is freaking wicked on the street.

75 mph and cruising, you punch it and can kick it sideways in an instant

  • It's a 64mm inducer, and 71mm exducer at the turbine.

  • Definately not ;)

  • the evil step-brother maybe hahaha

  • For the record, NOT A 6.0 turbo!
