  • Parkour is different for everyone... Whatever the reason we all do it because we love to.

  • what a mustache

  • This is... an adrenaline rush... when u break the wall of fears... thats why u love it.

    T'makes your heart beat faaaaaster.

  • @gone911helloWRX I can see where ur getting at but if you cant just enjoy Parkour then ur not really releaving any stress Parkour is not just something you excell at to be better for any thing other than ur self. Over coming fear may not be fun but it shows how much faith you have in yourself. You have to enjoy everything you do with Parkour, if its not about fun then ur making it a a competitive thing. We have to live in the fun and enjoyment or we die in the saddness and lonlyness.

  • @gone911helloWRX noo.. parkour is fun, but it is about getting over fear. we love doing runs theres two aspects the runs where u play about and when u find a massive jump or something that u fear and do. then as u say the feeling u get from that

  • wow...

    that inspired me so....

parkour the way is just the start

    peace out and train save

  • wooooooooooooow a great inspiration

  • The hardest thing about learning anything - be it an art, a sport, or whatever else - is the point at which you suddenly realize that in order to do it well you don't have to try harder, but instead stop thinking of it in terms of trying, but doing.

Not to sound like Yoda or anything, but that's really how it works.

  • great video man. realli enjoyed this. and i understand what u meen. the mental side of things are the hardest things to overcomb.

  • Im scared to go on the rollercoaster lol

  • very true. you can think, i can do this, you CAN do this, but its alllll mentality. the human body can be pushed AMAZINGLY far, never forget u can do it

  • This video is absolutely true. Because I know i can do a backflip physicly but my mind is scared..

  • I really enjoyed seeing his hesitation. and his joy of overcoming it rather than the usual cool clips to music that make me feel like mentally I'm not keeping up.

  • He is one of my teachers (i attend the westminister academy classes) and is the most helpfull and inspiring of all my teachers. He doesnt hesitate when you ask him for help he give you all the help you need to get to your objective.

  • so true

  • This guy reminds me of the assasins creed dude

  • "...Highest obstacles I have climbed are in my mind..."

    That is so true :)

And actualy I am using that "madman with an axe" method, I was suprised that someone else is using it :p

  • love it!!!!

    its an awesome video man

  • This is a great video.

  • i cant overcome mine, i find mine very frustrating iv done backflips and side flips on flat but 1 day i went to try a side off a wall and just couldent do it then when i tryed to do 1 on flat i couldent do it ither and it has happened to my backflips aswell iv tryed to overcome it but it resulted in my bailing in mid air and landing on my head any advise would be realy helpful on how to overcome this

  • Visualise yourself doing it from 1st and 3rd person perspectives. In 1st person focus on the feelings, the individual muscle contractions, the pressure from your feet as you take off, the feeling of rotation.

Also know you are going to do something before you try. Even if it means not doing it. Bailing is a really bad habit to get into and will screw you up.

  • very good! importent to know about.

  • I think it`s important to have this always in your Mind, but also never forget that in the situation you have to know that your body is to 100% able to do the Move.

To me this is the difference between responsible People and kiddies(this doesn`t refer to the age!) who always act after the Prinziple "Just try it, it won`t go wrong".

    really love the vid, 5*!

keep it on and have Fun!

  • good video

  • well done on breaking that metal block of jumping to the wall at the end that would be hard to overcome.

I did something similar about 1 month ago I had a jump I was so scared of for ages and than I was liek if i go now i woill be annoyed about this for ages and will make my day not so good so i went and did it than i did it again and agian tell I had it perfected! I was happy... gr8 vid

  • good video all the thinks you say are right gj keep it that way pk lover =)

  • Amen u said it all i totally believe that parkour is 75-80 percent mental and 25-20 percent physical... at least for me

  • Good Job pal... Good job... I'm messing with Parkour too... See my clip... I'm the guy with the black blouse..

Just search for "Beyond Parkour Skopje"

  • Sweet moves, sweet jump... i love this kind of video...

  • you are good but it is to much talk mkay!!!

  • this video educated me...

    =]

  • soo true! =)

  • the camera angle at 0:29 confused the hell out of me

  • i practice parkour for 9/10 months ... and i have still a mental block for a monkey vault

  • how much do you train a week

  • I like it, especcially for the "YEEESS!" in the end! :D

  • ive met u b4... and i have that shirt... u go harrow init!? i train in all dese spots u go to ! dont wanna name areas though ..probably see u in harrow or suttin

  • i really love this video. it's a inspiration to me...

I am a mental blocker too

  • inspirating

  • It is true. It's really mental more than physical, something I understood quiet a while ago.

The only example that pops at my head at the moment, is the Cat-Leap, which does require some good muscles.

  • not incredibly difficult move (I know thats not the point of the film), but really great flow

  • When ever I tell myself I'm too tired to do any training/Parkour I just watch this video and it puts in the mood to do it. Great Vid. 5/5

  • I think it's mostly mental but you also have to be in the proper shape. Act before you think because when you think you get scared. That's what i live by.

  • Dude, this is awesome.

  • How is it pointless ?

  • Well put sir.

  • nice

  • that was one hella cat

  • Fear doesn't paralyze everyone. Some people have fun in moderate amounts of fear. I find it amusing, fun to push through fear.

Every person has their own way, whether it's to be very talented, or to take it easy, and just run for the amusement.

We build each other up, respect their respectable views. Try not to stomp on their less respectable views.

So yes, I have fun pushing past fears. I pick the easier fears to push past because they are the most fun.

    Verbal Pwned Beyoch.KUDOS 2 PDAPDF

  • hit the nail on the head mate

  • Thats Exactly How I Feel

  • i understand now

  • yes

  • I was actually thinking about this yesterday. It's like your a little person up in your body's brain and your controlling it and throwing it over rails and stuff

  • Ya are mah Idol Dudeee ^^.

    Fauvorite ;]

    R3sp3cta. ^^

  • OMG all about discipline... i dont know what parkour means to all you guys but to me is amusemente nothing else no one is training to the olimpic games or so... dont get the rules in this sport thats why i like it!

each person has his way ...

  • the mind controls the body so it's all mental!!!

  • its a 50/50 thing not all metal !

  • well... it is moslty metal but also concrete and brick... ;)

  • LOL, Your stupid or joking?

  • ''It's all mentall''

That's bullshit. There are a physical proccess and if you don't go through it, you'll end up injured. Without strenght, flexibility and so on you will never improve. To be and to last. You should build yourself stronger both MENTAL AND PHYSICAl.

To many people forget the physical and aswell the mental part of parkour.

Parkour is a mental and physical dicipline.

  • u must remeber also that ur body wud not grow if ur mind didn't make it work. ultimately u r ur mind & ur body is the canister that u utilized. The 50/50 veiw is only accepted if u r lookin at which needs which, the body or the mind. If u r discussing controle of the body, conquoring fears and such as is in this video then it is all a mental challenge. The body is the canister which the mind controles. It's obvious that without body mind is useless but we aren't sicussing that! it is all mental.

  • well done , Watford girl done good. Hope your well Karen.

  • Ive seen this before, but I needed it again. Thank You.

    Keep Training.

  • Love this video good message but

what i think in my head before doing

    something new is.

but i still think there are not only mental boundaries but physical ones to you have to be physically be prepared for it

  • True, it's all In the Mind. I try to get over it But It's so hard. When I go to a gym I can get over somethings mentally with a mat behind me but once i get outside and think to much then it won't happen.

  • Oh wow. I never thought I would see comments like "You spend too much time on exercise! You're a loser!"

It really is pathetic, people sitting behind their computers have the Gaulle to say something like that. It amazes me.

And to the people saying shit like "Jump off a building, matrix boy". I suggest you get your head out of your arse and do some research.

  • thank you so much! you just put into words what I've been thinking. I hate it when people say stuff like that.

  • wow so much hostility online

  • where is this place i swear ive been there to train but not suure

    if you know pleeeease tell?

its buggin me sooo much lol

  • USA. Florida

  • is it really florida? wow, i'm in florida and i never would've guessed. cool.

  • It is abbey road in London, UK, and I know because i have been there training a few times.

    Zeno

  • Hi guys Ive been reading the comments, just the interesting ones, like those saying things like "c'mon go for it! keep on trying and you'll get it" and that stuff. I just wanted to say you all are right, but those "mental blocks" are there for a reason. They aren't counter productive since they keep you from being fatally injured. I personally love this video, but i think it sends a wrong message, as other parkour videos... or maybe its not a wrong one, but an easily to misunderstand. Train safe

  • i hope this works when i go to my next jam

ok there's a guy with an axe behind me

  • your mom said its fun, but i dont think she's reffering to the same thing

  • I do freerunning by my self, i have always a mental block, when i do a front or wallflip,

i know i can do it but i'm scared, i'm realy sick of it

  • just go for it and do it!

  • if you do it ounce one day, do it again and again and again and again and youll have muscle memory and it will become easy after that, i promise

  • yeah thanks

  • mui bueno lastima q no lovi XD

  • I suppose its a bit like mountain climbing : reclaiming / physical mastery of your environment? The primordial urge to be as agile as monkeys in a concrete jungle?

  • mental is everything. but i kinda think that if you are extremely strong physically, that it could help you mentally.

  • This video is sweeeet!!!

  • great vid man i hate mental blocks i liked the last jump nice one liked the vid keep it up

  • great finish jump :)

  • Great vid man, but you have to be a traceur to really understand this vid. Imo overcoming mental blocks is what parkour is all about, it makes you free

  • That's true :D

However... physical training is a part of it too, but that's a minor obstacle :D

  • Nice vid man. The fuck is wae ppl dissin other ppls shit? Its ironic that this vid could be said to be aimed at u jealous cunts that lack achievements and discipline. You mock him for having a obsession on climbing and overcoming obstacles which is a natural impulse in humans that we suppress as we become socially conditioned and yet it is respectable for a man to dedicate his life to being as efficient at destroying a human as he can be ie boxing.

  • No, pussy-in-law.

Jealousy is a trademark of the weak.

    Your 'elaborations' are weak.

  • How can u childishly call me a pussy-in-law, to then make bold judgements on what is weak and then too claim my 'elaborations' are weak, when it is ur 'inelaborate' comments that are weak. What exactly are u even trying to say?

  • How? It is easy, my padawan.

I say: stop being a pussy and go train.

  • Can you two do any of that? I don't think so, all you do is sit at your computer all day like the dirty skanks you are. I bet you skip school to be on the computer don't you?

  • I just read this comment.. but i hate you

  • you rock.

  • that s absolutely great sport against to frustration!!! whaooooooo

  • ну это уже старо....

    а в общем попрыгуньчик

  • Thought this an excellent film loved the close up of the eyes with the interview over top and the different angled shots. Didn't really know what Parkour was, but this a wicked film. :0)

  • Olá, esse desbloqueio, é.A força, está aí.

    Orkut: Bizarra10

  • This is very inspirational!

    Love it !

    Peace

  • Excellent film - this is truly what parkour and freerunning are all about. For me, every day of training is a mental challenge so much more than a physical one. Very well done - please keep up the good work!

  • /watch?v=hhz7idQfo2A

  • WOW no gloves FTW!!!!

  • ... What makes you think this is all he does?

  • he does have a life, his auntie told me that this free running is what got his life sorted outhe now is studying. yes i do know him, you can say that im lying but its true and ali if you read this this is mariam josis younger daughter, barabara, mila and petras came on saturday, thats when i saw this vid first, you are very good at this.

  • Check out my youtube to learn parkour or just to watch some more vids

  • well dun m8, always gd 2 c ppl breakin their fears and finding a new level. respect! xx

  • People who do this should be ninjas or something

    Or circus performers

  • recula, pisa las maices, te abres, y vuelcas otra vez seguro......vaya manos!!!

  • wanna be russian ninja

jp thats cool.. it reminds me of the first prince of persia

  • lol...this would be better if he was wearing a spiderman suit...

  • I want to see a video of him breaking bones & stuff XD

  • Well monkeys have this naturally.

  • last jump was great

  • stupid

  • uni brow! uni brow!

  • ?? his eyebrow goes to university?

    Thats amazing!

    MONO BROW!

  • amazing. wow. I was so touched.

  • Anything that results in hesitation is a hint that you should not continue, because you will most likely fail.

Hesitation is frustration. I completely agree with him. This is probably THE BEST thing any newcomer (or veteran) can watch for inspiration.

  • tight man.

  • awsome

  • Some "mental blocks" are just your brain warning you that if you fuck up, you could die. Sure, that's "mental", but the results are physical.

  • words.

  • lol 2:33 CRUNCH!!!! now try running with a wheel chair!! oh and btw ill bet someone posts an iraqi insurgent comment here. ya give them a negative 100+.

  • good

  • hmm..pretty good

  • now THAT was awesome. Inspiring.

  • I find pk as a close mix between physical and mental. I think it is almost all mental though because mental includes physical, you would know what I'm talking about when I say that if you've studied qi and/or many traditional martial arts.

  • i LoVe it PARKOUR for LiFe, thats my option at least untiL Ur body gives out but like said, its all mental baby :b

    "Keep at it" :)

    PEACE! :D

  • nice

  • I have no idea about the discipline, but this just struck a chord with me. The human body is beautiful and and does not know its limitations until it is told so. Obviously, this person's body has a higher "limit' than that which we place on most, and this was achieved simply through a different understanding of what we can do physically. This was great. I don't think it's just a discipline, it's artisitc, as well.

  • You don't know what you're talking about. It's not "Koreograhy" its a disipline, it hasn't been around since the 60's,the whole disipline started from David Belle's father in the Vietnam War as a more effective way of moving around the jungle. Go back to your britney spears videos.

  • Doesn't film choreography involve mats, safety lines, and lots of quick takes combined to form a whole?

  • yo guys bequit thats cool

  • what exactly is he doing?

  • legal

  • i dont get thiss

  • the realization that mind and body are one is the ultimate goal of my parkour. When you are midair, suspended, everything is real, there is no way to describe it. You train your body to the point where your mind is the only remaining obstacle.

  • cool

  • You obviously don't know what your talking about.

  • 90% mental...not all of it. If it were all mental you could just sit there and think about it...

  • wow u are so wrong u can have all the physical strength in the world but if u arent mentally strong you wont do it. It takes the mental ability to do Parkour because there is always the fear of breaking something bad or just dieing. If you cant overcome the fears and realities with your mind you can do it

  • Why don't you do the same with your writing?

I swear, you can't even understand what these idiots are writing about...but they sure do love to write, and write, and write.

If you were talking to me face to face like you write here on Youtube, you'd sound like a retard with a mouth full of 2-day-old shit, and I still wouldn't be able to understand you (not that I care).

    Your mom must be proud.

  • how does one get started in parkour or free running?!

  • A load of crap? And you say you have never tried parkour? Well, you don't know what it is or isn't. I've been doing parkour for over a year now, and I can tell you buddy, that this all happens at some stage during training. So think before you think.

A pussy, oh wow, you can tell that about a person by just looking at them? Stop being so narrow-minded.

  • sure buddy, I would love to see you try any of this. you have no clue what you are talking about, so please stay out of the conversation if you are completely ignorant to the discipline. secondly, this video was not meant to show extremely difficult moves. if you understood anything about artistic interpretation you would have realized that. moron.

  • im tired of seeing this vid.

  • a very good vid. I have this problem, i am always thnking about what happens after or what if, what if that, but it really is just doing it and to keep going. But its getting better. Keep training.

  • twin of altair

  • this guy is a ninja!!!!!

  • The thoughtful voice-over works really well with a parkour video. This is like a video essay on what parkour (or freerunning) means when you really get serious about it; beating fear/doubt/frustration/exhaustion to the goal of sublime freedom. Excellent!

  • good film

now those freerunnin skills would come in handy wen the police are behind ya :P lol

  • LOL

  • Not bad

  • this is a great amature file

  • Ruiz

  • great VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • i love this vid, it portrays so well the mental block that all traceurs and freefrunners come across at many points in their training. 5 stars!

  • Yeah cool vid!!!pls check out my new video, too if you have time, thx
